Mar 2, 2010I'm begining with flash (flash CS4 pro), I have created a fla file with a mxp filter which makes waves (I found the effect on "flash-filter.net"). I've done the setup for publishing (animated gif + swf)
When I publish the animated gif, I get a non-animated gif with the logo of "flash-filter.net" at the top of the image. ( I've also tried to download the swf with real player, same effect : I have a static video with the same logo )

Nov 21, 2011Firstly, although I've been using Flash on and off for years (since CS3) I don't use it very often so I apologise if my issue seems simplistic.Basically, I used Flash CS3 for a few years to create basic animations for clients, involving simple scrolling text, without any problems.Recently I upgraded to the CS4 Master Suite and then CS5 Master Suite within a couple of days of each other and I now need to use Flash to make a change to an old animation.When I opened the CS3 file it appears as expected and I made the changes to the text (changing a word or two within a line of type).When I right clicked on the type relevant frames within the timeline I noticed that there is now more than one version of tween available, and that classic tween was already selected (I think I better buy a new teach yourself Flash CS5 book!)
Anyway, that was allI needed to do so I initially pressed return and the text scrolled across the stage as expected.But when I clicked on CONTROL / TEST MOVIE / TEST (or cmd+Return on my Mac) the SWF file that appears is static and the text does not scroll at all.If I publish the movie using Actionscript 3 or 2 the resulting SWF file is also totally static. But if I drop the SWF file into the relevant website folder and view it through Dreamweaver's browser view facility it works perfectly and scrolls just as expected.Equally, opening it using the Opera browser works too.
I've tried altering the CS3 file and testing the movie in Flash CS4 and Flash CS5 but the same thing happens.It's a bit time wasting and inefficient wanting to test an animation as a SWF file by double clicking on it and only being shown a static image.Is this a well known problem as I couldn't find any mention of it during my search?

Aug 28, 2010As part of a project I am working on, I would like to know if it would be possible to store some data in the actual flash file.
Let me make this clear now... I DO NOT WANT TO USE COOKIES!
I need to be able to save some data to the SWF itself, NOT to the local computer.
To be more specific, I need to store a set of URL's, but they also need to be added by the file, so...
Lets say i have a button that when you click, will make a text box appear, and you type in some urls such as:
[URL]
I then have a button that says "Save" and this will save these 3 URL's. I then would have the SAME SWF display these URL's (these will be URLs of Images). The important part is, these 3 URLs MUST BE READ by everyone who views the swf afterwards, so if I were to enter some URLS of Images, when someone else views the page, they will see the images that i entered. This is why it cannot be a cookie, as their computer will not see my cookie.
Even if the data cant be stored in the SWF itself, i will need some way to load this information where ever the swf is viewed.

Dec 22, 2010When ever I try to save a cs4 file as CS5 the adobe flash cs5 will stop responding for no reasons
also, some times and only for some files when I save the cs4 file as uncompressed cs5 and then save that uncompressed cs5 to normal cs5 the conversion works and some times not.
ofcourse any of the cs5 files cannot be saved as cs3 or cs2 for no reasons..
p/s: microsoft office can be saved to any previous versions..

Oct 18, 2011I'm new to Flash (CS5.5) but have self taught quite a bit. I created a simple "slide show" model of images which fade in and out to other images—it's a holiday greeting card. How do I save/export/publish (not sure of the correct terminology) this .fla file so that my end result is an image that I can insert (as an image) into an email (outlook) and send. The recipient should be able to click on the image and activate the movie.

Dec 28, 2011I am a psychology student and have the need to edit a flash game for use in a project. Having no programming experience, this is proving to be an issue! Basically I contacted the authors of a study for a copy of a driving game that records data to an external file (I think this is where shared objects come in?). Unfortunately, I cannot find the output file anywhere on my machine (I am running Windows 7 - have looked in the appropriate directories). After downloading a trial version of CS3, I have edited the screens I needed but have not been able to understand the code. I have located the code for the shared object and was wondering if anyone know how to make it save the SOL file to my desktop. Here is the code I think is appropriate:

Professional :: Can't Save Document, Or Copy Layers To New File
Feb 14, 2012I'm having an odd problem that I can't seem to resolve. I'm updating some old animations (created around 2004-2005). Most have gone without a hitch, however one file has been a problem.
First the specs: Windows 7 64bit, Master Collection CS5.5. All updated.
The problem with the file:
I can open it just fine, test the movie, etc. If I try to save the document, it fails, saying "Unable to save the document as...". I can save the file as a CS4 document, which seems to work OK. However, I need to move the contents into a new document. If I try to Copy the laters, Flash immediately crashes.

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Mar 8, 2010I have some stock footage of smoke on a black background (.mov format) that I would like to convert to a flash file with a transparent background, which I will be overlaying over a PNG image on a webpage.
I have managed to remove the black background in After Effects using a plugin called UnMult, but when I try to render as a FLV file in AE, even though I check the option to preserve the alpha channel and encode using the On2 VP6 codec, I still get a black background.
So I am wondering what else to try, whether it be with AE or Flash CS4. Is there a way of achieving this effect by directly importing the MOV file into Flash CS4 and removing the black background there, or do I have to use AE, and if so, how to achieve the effect I am looking for?

I can save files in CS5 as CS4 so they can be read at college (by Flash) but I have to do it via the "save as" every time I save. After a couple of times, it get rather irritating. Jun 10, 2011I create a file in 5.5, then do a "save as" to create a new file based on the previous file. Make the changes, save it, publish it. Reopen the fla file, and it is not what I saved - it's the file it was "saved as". Needless to say this makes me very unhappy, as I must redo each file again. Sometimes that fails again! May go back to v5.

Professional :: Animated Gif From Flash?
Jun 11, 2011CS4, AS3.Windows XP SP3.I've created a pretty simple flash animation with some text that fades in and moves around a bit. Nothing fancy. It runs just fine both locally and on my client's site. I need to turn it into an animated gif so that non-flash viewers will see the animation. But I can't seem to get it to come out right. It needs to have a transparent background and it needs to run just once. Like I said, all that runs fine as an SWF.
When I choose the export option in the file menu (export movie as gif), it does export and I can run the gif but the background is definitely not transparent and the thing loops continuously. Yes, I've checked the "transparent" checkbox and also set the repetitions to 1. Neither of those settings do anything.I also tried "publishing" the gif. That's even worse. The resultant animation doesn't even resemble my SWF. It's a blocky mess when it runs. It does appear to have a transparent background but it loops over and over and again it's a blocky mess (not sure how else to explain that).
The whole thing is just about 10 layers of different lines of text that are tweened in various ways to get the effect I need.You can see the animation on the right hand side of this page: www.ssrights.com. It's the one that says "FREE! Consultation..."
PS: The gif is not in place. I currently have it set to just show a static image if someone does not have flash.

Mar 7, 2011I created 3 buttons in flash (biography, music, contact). Whenever you hover over them,they animate. Is there a way to make these clickable objects in Dreamweaver? I've searched and found out about the 'invisible button', but this doesn't work for me because it takes away the animation I created.
