I am new to AS3 FLASH.HOW TO CREATE DATAGRID with paging.I have successfully create datagrid and fill dynamically from database using php.I have more than 600 records and want to show 100 records in grid and show paging bellow it with next , previous option.this is my code.every thing is working fine. I want add paging it.

i'm trying to seperate some xml data into seperate pages. six entries on each page with three rows and two columns. i got the data to go into two columns...now i'm just trying to set up the next and previous buttons as well as showing only six entries per page.

high quality datagrid with: pagination CRUD - adding/deleting/updating rows by users other nice options such as filters, optionmenu, toolbar, etc. there seems to be several very good options in Javascript (Ext-jS, several Jquery plugins/widgets (JQGrid, Datatables, at least 6 more good open source components...) which are very well designed, implemented, documented and professional grade (and free).
however, everything i've seen to add above features to flex/AS seem to be hacks...
(there is one solution - flexicious - it isn't anywhere as good as some of the Javascript datagrids - not free either) can someone point me to any good solutions in Flex/AS (like Javascript Datatables or JQGrid)?

I have a datagrid in a flash app. The intial use works fine. The flash has the ability to recalculate the needed data which I then use to repopulate the existing datagrid. What is the best way to clear out a datagrid and repopulate it?I tried:ifxGrid.dataProvider.removeAll();but it does not clear out the previous dataifxGrid.removeAllColumns();this worked a little but not entirely.So what's currently happening is that the new data is appended to the old data. So if I had 50 rows in the 1st calculation and then I have 70 rows in the 2nd calculation I end up with 120 rows of data in my datagrid.

I am trying to paginate text in flash using actionscript.Basically there is a fla file with a layer for the actionscript, a layer for the text fields and a layer with next and previous buttons. (next_btn and prev_btn).The flash file looks like an open book, with a multiline dynamic text field on the left page and also on the right page.I want to be able to paginate the String in the "text" varible so that it fillls page 1 of the open book and displays the next chunk of text on page 2 of the open book.Then, when the next button is pressed I want the next bit of next to appear on the left page of the book (page 3) and the next piece of text after that on the right etc etc.At the moment I can only get this to work for a single text field. I need to split the content over two text fields.[code]

In my flash application I draw in data from an XML. This data is for example 6 lines long in 1 language, but could be 20 in a different language. However the textbox on the screen can only populate 10 lines of text and I'd like to give the option to users to press the arrows to go to the next page (if there is a next page).What are my options to get this 'page'-effect?

my program is i can choose several movie to load and the movies are save in an array... For example: i choose movie 1 , 2 and 3. Movie 1 was loaded. After i lick 'next 'button, movie 2 will be show .Beside that,if i click 'previous' button, movie 1 will be show. i facing a problem that my previous button is not back to my previous loaded movie but is trace my choices in arrays backward. The next problem is, my first movie load to the second movie load will be a bit lagging. but the rest 1 is ok.

I have various movies clip within a movie and my back (mc = arr2_mc) and next (mc = arr1_mc) buttons are on the main scene.This is on my main scene on a first frame

when it goes back, it goes back frame by frame without stopping but I want it to go only to previous Scene. instead of going to previous frame.Do i have to create a unique button? which i did but i didn't work?

Has anyone figured a way to do true pagination in dynamic text fields? I usualy do page breaks by hand in the content but am working on a project that would benifit greatly from smart pagination. As far as I know there isn't a way to find out if text overflows a textfield, but I don't know.

Each of these 2 page documents have links to a learning resource on a web server.All I want is for the user to be able to navigate to and fro this two page document. A few months ago, I started noticing a small annoyance in Flash and the Flash Player. This small annoyance quickly became a rather large inconvenience, so I recently started googling a solution. Nothing to be found, unfortunately.Here's my problem:When I open a swf file with the standalone Flash Player (any version), the size of the player is set to the size of the last swf file I loaded with the "File - Open" dialog. By the way, when I use the file dialog to open files, the player resizes appropriately.An example:I open a swf with "open with - Flash Player" and the Flash Player sets its size to 320x240 instead of the swf's size, 640x480. Or I open a swf that should be 550x400 and it opens at 320x240. The Flash Player always uses the dimensions of the last file opened with "File - Open."
This problem even affects the Flash CS3 built-in "Test Movie" player.The problem is a little difference within the "test movie" player. It seems to keep whatever the dimensions were the last time you resized the player yourself, and full screen mode doesn't work properly.I tried upgrading, downgrading, editing the

first off, i'm pretty new with actionscript so the answer to this question may be obvious. however, i cannot for the life of me figure out what i'm doing wrong or how to fix it. so, i went through the tutorial for the auto slideshow with xml [URL] everything is working great for the auto slideshow; however, my issue is with the "previous" and "next" buttons. the "previous" seems to work in that it will back up to the previous slide, no problem, but if my slides are times for 3 seconds each and i hit previous at 2.5 seconds into the current slide, i only have .5 seconds to view the previous slide and not the full 3 seconds.
OK next issue is with the "next" button -- i have 4 slides/photos it works fine from slide 1 to slide 2, but if i hit next to go from 2 to 3 the slideshow starts an endless loop from 1 to 3 to 1 to 3 to 1 and it never jumps out of that loop. the same thing happens from 3 to 4 -- the loop is 2 to 4 to 2 to 4 to 2. again, it doesn't break the loop and go back into the regular sequence. here's the actionscript as it appears in my flash file:
