ActionScript 1/2 :: Add Unit Function - Array Class?

Is there a way to add the unit what gets attached to the array as unit4 and has an instance of unit4 and then if u press it again as unit5 with instance of unit5 and so on. This is my array.

i am making a few object of action script..,what special about this object is that in the contructor function of  this object is that i  make it to send a sprite parameter which will act  as it's parent..,var anObject:myObject = new myObject(parentSprite);and in my main project i used those object and store it in an array after adding it to the stage.i do store it to an array cause i need to be able to refer back to it..everything was fine up until i need to call function inside that object which i already stored in an array. how should i call the function in that object from an array that stored the object?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Calling A Function With An Array Variable As Arguments Is Resetting Array?

I'm going to post the full code of the two functions, disregard the "fluff" unrelated to the two functions as it is all working flawless, I've tested this HEAVILY and cannot understand why it keeps setting the entire array to undefined!

Code:

Basically it's supposed to check to see if the file exists and return as true if it does and add it to a replace array, then the replace array is processed into a single string and put into a dialog box through the flash wrapper prompting them to "replace the files or not".

It makes the replace array just fine, it actually even has the right "count" in it but it's setting all the "filenames" to undefined because of the exists = processSearch function.

I even tried to make a new array and run the search just from that one and set the values from the old one and it's still failing.

Is it because of the "break" or can anyone figure it out? Iknow it's hard because you can't use the code

I output a motion to an XML file using the Export Motion XML command. Then I applied it to a new graphic, and it came out wrong. After 323 frames of motion, the graphic is now at the wrong position, about 15 pixels to the left of where it should be.

When creating the animation, I had "snap to pixels" turned on, so every position of the source graphic is at a round number. When I look at the values in the generated XML file, it's full of sequences like this:

I`m instancing a Character and a Player in the Main Timeline, all in frame 1.
When I use: ""player.attack(character)"" it works fine by itself.

So I added the if (defender._hp <= 0) this.win() which gives me the following error:

1061: Call to a possibly undefined method win through a reference with static type Character.

"defender" is a Character instance, "this" is a Player instance and "win()" is a Player method. I try to call the Player method inside a Character method using the Player instance adding the "." and his method name

Do I really need to define the win() function in the Character class? Is there a bypass to use a subclass method in a parent class method if it`s called from an instance of the subclass?

I was wondering why my current code for calling a setInterval on a function doesn't work inside my class.I have this code inside one function, calling a second function.

intID = setInterval(selfReferential, dupe, 30, 0x000000);

The selfReferential keyword refers to the current class,but was defined previously (selfReferential = this; ).I get no errors, but the dupe() function is never called.and I had the selfReferential variable replaced with the this keyword at one point as well.

Is the most common practice to just refactor the behavior into a method that does the lifting while the handler just extracts information from the event, or are there effective ways to simulate event dispatch in FlexUnit or Fluint?

I'm working on a general code library for ActionScript 3.0 called as3lib which includes several extensions to the core API and some useful functions. I've written several unit tests (using FlexUnit) to make sure everything is working correctly.

What is the best way to organize these tests in the library? Currently, I have all my code in src/ and my tests in test/ but I've set up a secondary Flex project to run the unit tests. I am also manually adding and removing the test files from the library when I want to run the tests.

Preferably one where the compiled library doesn't include the test files but I don't need two separate projects to test them.

This is kinda related to my other question: flex dictionary bug? The HashMap has a method getValues() which returns an array of values:

the loop for (var key:* in map) iterates the keys of the dictionary map, but it seems its implementation does it in some random way. What is the best way to write a test since I don't know what the array returned by getValues method will contain? I'm not sure that I'm on the right track here. I've got what is essentially a 'gateway' movieclip and depending on the CLICK a corresponding movieclip (form) is loaded -- these all being in their own AS file. There are multiple corresponding pages that will all load/close in their own fashion but the 'gateway' will reload in it's own function-- consequently, I have this function on the main_AS.  Can I trigger this function from the sub class or do I need to move the 'reload' function to a 'reload' class.

I keep getting an "undefined property" error when I try to call an external function from within the Doc class. I added the error message to the Doc Class below so you can see where it occurs.

If I take the code from the Tooltip.as below and place it on the FLA's main timeline I can get things working fine, but I would like to move all script to classes. The document class structure looks like this:

I'm trying to have a class reference a variable within the document class and have scoured the web but can't seem to find a solution. It seems relatively simple, but is a major stumbling block for me.

I want the variable in the doc class to increment each time a draggable object is within bounds and snapped to a box in the subclass. By tracking successful snaps, the objects will be placed one under the other each time.

I have a Document class that instantiates a class named Other. I need to call a function in the Other class from the Document class.I'm getting this error: Call to a possibly undefined method OtherFunction through a reference with static type Other.I have read online that you need to use make the functions static or use a getter function but I'm unclear how to do that.
