ActionScript 1/2 :: Frame Reference Within A Clip Within A Clip?

Is it possible for me to have 1 movieclip consisting of multiple movie clips, in a .fla file, and reference specific frames of clips within a frame of the movie clip, from an outside .as file?
In a .fla file I have a movie clip that consists of several frames, each containing a different movie clip to perform different actions of a character I am attempting to animate.The basics of the code work fine, but now I'm trying to get into more detailed aspects of the characters actions and interactions and all the tutorials that I've come across thus far direct me to add various aspects of code throughout my animation which I feel would litter my program as this project grows.My basic code is as follows

This works fine.Beyond this,I have a frame with the anchor lable "Punch" which contains a movie clip consisting of 5 frames.Is it possible for me to reference specific frames within the movie clip within this frame of the big movie clip?
Currently i am working on a project and i need the gallery to appear when a movieclip boxp_mc gets to frame 11 i have this in a function that i call onRelease of a button. However it donsnt seem to read this write. As soon as i click portfolio_btn it traces "dosnt work" i feel its reading it right away. I want it to wait till it gets to frame 11 then to this.
i've tried placing the code in the actions pnel of the mc; on the mc at the main time line and in various other unspeakable places... but i always get the same error warning me that this code can only be used in movieclip instances and that my stupidity levels are reaching dangerous levels. (error: 'Symbol=stage_mc, Layer=actions, Frame=1: Line 5: Clip events are permitted only for movie clip instances

i fear somebody will reply to this with:'the code goes on the movieclip instance'...at which point i will take up a career in knitting (i knew i shouldn't have given up the course in the first place)
it isn't such a big problem bur for a beginner like me it is.I have a movie clip called "Lion_beginning_mc", inside of it I have 3 Key Frames and Inside each and one of them I have different shapes.For example:Key Frame number 01 - DogKey Frame number 02 - CatKey Frame number 03 - MouseI want to move this movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" form Key frame number 1 to Key frame number 20.I want the Dog,Cat and a mouse to change between each other only once while moving from Key Frame number 1 to 20.And then when the movie clip "Lion Beginning_mc" reaches his goal another movie clip or a frame (with a shape) will start.

how can I reference a namless clip in as3? In the debugger I only can see my named clips but I don't see where the other clips are. I try work without names to easily copy them without creating a new name for every new clip.
I normally write javascript code, so I wonder how to do this. In JS "Microsoft IS" you'll write code like this:

The graphic designer creates flash drawings and then converts whatever objects to movieclips. Then passes them over to me. All these "mc" need the same action applied to them. So I don't need to know how many they are or their names.
In AS2 I used to be able to reference a movie clip using a variable like this: Code: var target = nameofmovieclip; I've been looking for an answer on how to do the same thing AS3 but with no luck. I'm trying to create a dynamic homing missle, but unfortunately everything I've tried just generates errors.
This _seems_ to work, except the removeChild is not working - the detail clip is faded, and killDetail is called, but the clip remains. If I remove the TweenLite fade and do the removeChild right in removeDetail() the clip is fully removed from the display list. I've tried doing a TweenLite.killTweensOf(detail) within the killDetail(), before removing child on it, but that doesn't help.
i created a two layer in time line in one layer there is a movieclip called mc1. In the same layer in 15th frame i have another movie clip mc2. Inside the movieclip mc2 i created another movie clip at frame10 now if i clik the the mc1 on first frame The movie clip should goto and stop at tenth frame
now how do i make the movie clip to first go from frame 1 to 10( last frame in teh movieclip) with the text time and then when the movie clip starts again it should say place and so on and so forth.. depending on how many textline variables i define in the text file?
i'm very new at flash and finally ended all the work i wanted to do here. now i just need to had the actions so it will run properly. basically i just need it to stop in each frame and run the animation of the movie clip on that frame. if it's i can put the project here so you can see what and were i need to had the actions.
I'm using bulkLoader to load my mp3 and flv files (thanks to dawsonk for hooking me up with the answer there), and now I need to be able to play/pause and jump ahead and back in the movie that I loaded, but I can't figure out how to reference it?Also, when I go to load another movie/audio from a button click, do I need to do anything with the old instance, or will flash take care of that??
I have been struggling with what I suppose is a very simple issue: I am importing content into my application via a text file, this all works fine. I have about 10 different movie clips on the parent timeline that I have hidden (dc_mc.visible = false.So what I need to do is take one of the variable names that I've got from my text file and use its value to "turn on" one of these hidden movie clips.So I'm trying stuff like:

I send to the function a movie clip that I use for drag and drop, so when I drop this function is called. The problem is that of the three rectangles that I use for contain the others, only the last senses the drop target.
I have a character, And in its movieclip I`ve got 3 frames (first has an idle pose, second a walking pose and third a running pose), each with a movieclip with an action in it.Well, what I wanted is that when I am walking with this character, and press the SHIFT key he runs.And I`ve got the following code

But when I click the shift button, he shows the first frame static of the movie clip in frame 3 (running frame).
I have a movieclip in frame1 and there is a button in this movieclip.I have another movieclip in frame10 and this movieclip's instance name is "dene".When i clicked the button in the frame1's movieclip, i want to go 70 th frame in movieclip which's instance name is "dene". When i write _root.gotoAndStop(10); i can go frame10 in mainstage but i can't go to movieclip "dene"'s 70th frame.I tried this code but it doesn't work;
I am making a quiz/game, and it works like this, two teams that have to take over the united states, by answering history questions, so right now I have it were when you click on a state, it takes you to a question (on a different frame in the main timeline), then I have a problem, if you get the question right it takes you to the "board" of the United States (that works), but when you are back the color of the state should change its color to red (on frame of the clip) if south got it and blue (another frame of the clip) if north got itBut instead i changes back to grey (default color, all start grey to begin with). I don't and can't seem to figure this out
I'd like to invoke a function inside a mc from it's parent, but I want to have the reference to the clip be dynamic. When I path the mc directly and invoke the function it works, how would I make that same reference work dynamically.

I'm creating a movie clip button and for the out state I have this:

It gives me this error when I click the button: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. at index_fla::web_mc_37/at_out() I know the error is in this statement: web_btn.gotoAndPlay(30-(web_btn.currentFrame-11));
PBar contains two SimpleButtons (pBarProgress and pBarLoaded) and a MovieClip (pBarBg).I import pBar from the library like this:private var pBar:PBar = new PBar();and add it to a container MC on the stage like this:containerMC.addChild(pBar);Up to this point, everything works great. I can see pBar and its children on the stage when I run my movie. But then I want to start referencing and manipulating pBar's child objects, but nothing I do works. im working on a banner which have all data included from external text file and styled with css.the code of the banner you can see here:http:[url]....the issue it that my main timeline have 2 frames and the file loops. In this case all works fine , but the on every loop the actionscript loads all the Loaders and data again and again and this cause increasing memory usage (about 1 MB per 2/3 loops) .To fix this I've put a stop(); in the first frame , which fixed the memory leak issue, but now the CSS doesn't load at all - I don't know why. Also I've released that the CSS not loads if the clip have only one frame.

I need to stop (remove) all movie clip instances (created with duplicateMovieClip) at frame 120. I suppose that I should use removeMovieClip();, but I have no idea where and how to use it.
