I have built a site for a client using AS2 which contains links to streaming mp3s. The audio loads and runs just fine in Safari but malfuntions/doesn't even play in other browsers.
Here is the site in question: [URL].. I'm hoping that one of you lovely gurus out there can help me resolve this problem. If needed, I can supply the .fla.
When going to the links on the flash banners at the bottom work perfectly. there is an increased frequency in people visiting the site and only typing and in those instances the links do not work.
I've got a PHP script that searches for links in a block of text and converts them to HTML values. The $message variable is then entered into my database using a simple INSERT. So far, so good. Then I have Flash parse the message using XML:
ActionScript Code: function messStyling() { messCSS = new TextField.StyleSheet(); var messCSSURL = "include/links.css";
[Code].....
The problem, however, is that my links don't work. The rollover works from the CSS styling, but the links don't actually go anywhere. When I rollover the links, the hand cursor doesn't appear, and clicking only serves to change the color back to the non-hover value.
Can I have a link in an xml doc that then links up to another portfolio(my site is essentially a portfolio of images).Or do I need to alter the script in Flash? This is the xml main doc and here is the link to the page also that I want to link from. navigate to the 'NEWS' section of the portfolio.I want to be able to link to another portfolio from one of the categories in the news section.
I have a website located at: tonywilford.com made entirely of flash. However when I click on any outside link like on my contact page , it detects it as a pop up and doesn't open it.I know I can disable the pop up blocker but how can I make it not do this for the everyday ordinary non technical visitor? What I was trying to do (which may caused this) is when a link was clicked it would open in another tab instead of opening in the same window. If possible, I'd still like to achieve this.
I have just put together my first flash menu and have put in the url's or links to the various pages such as contact us etc that are in my Dream Weaver site that is, as yet still sitting on my computer. The links works fine. My question is: When I upload the site do I have to re-edit the links or will, if the SWF file stays in the same folder, the links still work?
P.S. Is anyone finding that the new (beta) version of Firefox 4 having problems with flash - jerky, disappears and sticks etc
Basically, I need it so you click my movie clip with instance name of "bg"and it links to a site.. but it also opens as a new tab (Not a new window, but a tab like in mozilla), or a new window in internet explorer
I want one animation of a content area but i want the menu to run the animation and put in a certain .swf so i can have something like:when u click a button that is suposed to goto Home then it plays a MC that has Home as an external .swf loaded into it and when i click another link like Portfolio it starts that MC over but with Portfolio as an external .swf in it
I had to create a flash file which has animations, an audio track and at the end a set of html links.
The flash file to have stop and play buttons. Correct me if I'm wrong but to do this I would have to render the flash file as an mov, convert that to an flv and import the flv into a new flash file and use THAT swf which will contain the playback component of my choice.
If so Now, the problem is how can I get the links at the end of the file to work as when I convert to mov the actionscript is no longer working.
I am looking to dead center my site: [URL] which 1400 x 700. I am trying to get the file to load so that when someone with a 1240 or less res links to the site it loads the with the horizontal scroll bar in the center of the page.
Will links in a pure flash site, get spidered? I understand that having links on your site is important for the searchengines to rate your site ( or as i wold put it, so that you will find it if you search google for it) If i use a html site with nothing on it exept the flash file, is there any way i can put the links in it, and still show nothing but the flash file?
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get my audio to load without exporting it in the 1st frame. In other projects where I use components, in the linkages panel, I deselect 'export in first frame', and put an instance of the component in an assets frame. That way the preloader opens right away and the components loadup in the second frame (which just gets jumped over when the movie plays). I'm trying to do this with my linked audio but it won't work. When I deselect export in first frame, I just get no audio. In the assets frame I have the actionscript
I have a flash project, its working fine in local system, but the same file is not working in live here is the link of the site, its showing blank page, the flash contents are not loading... [URL]
I have a flash project, its working fine in local system and checked this file with uploading in someother websites, its working fine there too, but the same file is not working in live here is the link of the site, its showing blank page, the flash contents are not loading.URL...and here the same file which i have uploaded it in other server its working fine.URL...
I have a problem with a flash image gallery that I created and have now posted to my website.
When the flash movie is viewed on it's own you can click the main images and you are taken to a product page. However when the flash movie is integrated into the website, the links are random at best and for the most part dont work.
Take a look:
1. Standalone flash gallery
2. Embedded in webpage
I thought that the scrolling marquee to the left of the page might be causing a problem but the problem doesn't go away when I remove this.
I am creating a website that has links to flash animations. i have created a folder called flash in the root folder and copied the relevant .fla, .swf and the .mp3 files into that folder. the animations are working fine but the audio isnt.it all works fine in flash itself.
guide me through the process of embedding an audio recording widget on my site, where people can record short (~5 secs) voice clips? I have absolutely no experience with Flash but since HTML5 is not there yet, it's necessary.
The situation is I have a number of pages with a single movie clip on each, however once the movie is playing and you click the home or contact buttons for example, it will go to the correct page but the movies sound keep playing in the background. So I've got a code, but I just get an error sayign tanmovstop() does not have a body. I'm very new to action script so am very lost! I'll be extremely grateful. The code on the sites main buttons is as follows, with tanmov being the movie whos sound I want to stop:
Looking for a component which can be embedded inside my site (PHP, ASP.NET...whatever) and give a support for video chat. I'm not a flex developer and would like to use a component. There are some/many video chats available, like flashcoms, red5chat...but all of those are heavy(monolit) components.
What I would like to have on my site is just a small video showing output from my camera (me) and another video showing the other party...but those videos should be split, not in the same flash component, but separate (two different EMBED tags on my page).
Are there any components available to do that (of course with support from appropriate media server)? Are there any good guides on how to develop such a component?
I am brand new to flash and AS3, and everything else code related. I've built a simple file with text and audio. The audio is an external file, and it plays with a mouse click. Everything tests fine in flash. I also placed the file in Dreamweaver and previewed in a browser - that's working. But... I've now uploaded the file to a live site. The text shows up but it doesn't play.
I'm new in the mobile app development and I'm trying to do a simple online radio app using flash builder 4.5, but every time I try to play audio from a remote site (stream) it just not work. I've done different test, and when I use a local audio files everything works flawlessly.
I am currently using to in a sound player in an on the homepage of an html/asp website. At the moment it plays some welcome audio when the visitor arrives on the site (index.asp), however it does get an little annoying when it plays everytime you go onto the homepage.
Is their any way of setting a session variable in actionscript that only plays the audio once when using the site?
I am using flash CS4, i have created a small flash presentation , it has some hyper links to external web site . All the links are perfectly working in my system but the links are not working when i tried into other system(system does not have flash installed ).
I've been building a website in flash for the first time and I'm struggling how to get the links working, this is how I've been doing, putting the whole file name into the link under options then link, the links when i open the swf files don't work at all. But the htmp pages work on my computer but on an other computer the links don't work cos I have linked the html pages to my folder on the computer I'm working on.
For some reason the links from my home page are not working on some computers (could be a PC thing). This is the basic layout of the action script used on each section's button.
I created this site on a Mac G3 with Flash 4.
[URL]
On (Release) Get URL ("javascript:Websites=window.open('RezWebsites.swf ','Websites','height=421,width=650,toolbar=no,loca tion=no,scrollbars=no,status=no,resizable=no,fulls creen=no'); Websites.focus(); ")
I am a newbie to Flash. I am working on a template website with a deadline. I was able to change the text, remove items I did not need and add some additional text.....but I cannot get any of the links in either of the two top flash animations (the menu and the header) to work. I am using Flash CS4 (and Dreamweaver CS4). I have tried to add a link to the text, and in the AS. But then they do not seem to be working at all
i have created some flash banners with a url embedded in them, so when they are placed on a web page the banner links through to my website when clicked. Fairly simple. But, i tested them on a website on my server to link to another website on the server and they worked fine. When i gave them to a client to embed on their own website (the flash files are hosted on my server still), the links no longer work.
Is this a security issue to stop the links working? i also checked it in linux and the banners worked, but in windows they do not. I dont want the client to have their own local copy of the flash file, as i may update it in the future and dont want to chase up lots of different copies everywhere.
