ActionScript 2.0 :: Preloader And Export First Frame Audio Links?
May 2, 2006
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get my audio to load without exporting it in the 1st frame. In other projects where I use components, in the linkages panel, I deselect 'export in first frame', and put an instance of the component in an assets frame. That way the preloader opens right away and the components loadup in the second frame (which just gets jumped over when the movie plays). I'm trying to do this with my linked audio but it won't work. When I deselect export in first frame, I just get no audio. In the assets frame I have the actionscript
I searched the forum and only find AS3 solutions. Does anyone know a way to export audio for actionscript after frame 1? I unchecked the "Export on Frame 1", and what that did was to skip exporting my audio all together. "Export for Actionscript" is still checked, but I don't know how to tell it when, I guess, is the problem.
I saw one thread that said to put the audio on the timeline, so I tried it, and although the volume slider still to worked with that metthod, but the mute button, which uses the Sound.start() and Sound.stop() commands, stopped working.
When I add linkage to the music file I'm using I need to select 'export in first frame' in order for the play/mute button to work. But when I do this the preloader doesn't show up until about 80%. Is there a way around using export in first frame while still having usable play/mute buttons.
ok, looks like it's probably one of the most usual problem people experience, they're tons of posts about it, yet I haven't been able to find one with an answer... You make a preloader like in Kirupa's tutorial with something like:
I'm having an issue with exporting my fla file to flv within Flash CS3. The picture quality is perfect, but for some reason, it keeps disabling my audio. Is there a setting for audio that is optimal? I've tried almost every setting there is, even the highest setting (44kHz 16 Bit Stereo), but to no avail.
I am using Flash CS3 on a PC. I am trying to export an animation to quicktime (Export > Export movie) and have some problem regarding the sound. The animation contains actionscript 2.0loads external swf contains streaming soundsplay other sounds via actionscript. 4 scenes. When publishing the animation, it works fine, but when exporting it to .mov, the audio goes faster than the video.
Export setting: Video:Compression type: H.264Frame Rate: CurrentKeyFrames: 4 Sound:Compressor: 24-bit integerRate: 48.000KhzSize: 16BitUse: Stereo To be honest, I tried many other compression types and frame rates and keyframes, but nothing seem to work.
I tried: - importing the external swfs into the original animation - creating a streaming silence from frame 1 for continuous sound - capturing the animation using CamStudio, but it's not smooth enough
I have built a site for a client using AS2 which contains links to streaming mp3s. The audio loads and runs just fine in Safari but malfuntions/doesn't even play in other browsers.
Here is the site in question: [URL].. I'm hoping that one of you lovely gurus out there can help me resolve this problem. If needed, I can supply the .fla.
I had to create a flash file which has animations, an audio track and at the end a set of html links.
The flash file to have stop and play buttons. Correct me if I'm wrong but to do this I would have to render the flash file as an mov, convert that to an flv and import the flv into a new flash file and use THAT swf which will contain the playback component of my choice.
If so Now, the problem is how can I get the links at the end of the file to work as when I convert to mov the actionscript is no longer working.
I know I can export a simple tweened animation using "Copy Motion as Actionscript 3.0" and passing the resultant XML to an Animator object. But what I'd like to do is export a frame-by-frame animation and use that in my code.
As for why I want to do this, I'm trying to simulate a post-it being ripped off of a white board. Doing it and getting it to look natural using just code is going to be difficult, so I was thinking of having a designer at my company do a frame-by-frame animation of it and then using that.
I made a preloader for a flash slideshow with different announcements in AS 3.0.When I export the movie to preview it everything works fine. The loading rectangle fills up and then you see the slideshow. The problem comes after I embed it in HTML. Instead of the Preloader to show all i get is a white rectangle the size of the SWF and then the slideshow begins. It's as if it was ignoring the preloader completely. I don't understand why it works when I export it but not on the actual site.
Heres my preloader script:
Code: stop(); addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, loadingInfo); function loadingInfo(e:Event):void {
I'm working on a Flash CS5 file, with action script 3. I have a layer with all the audio for each frame. When I click the Next button, the audio from the last frame plays over the audio of the current frame. The only code I have in flash is:
stop() btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK forward); function forward(event:MouseEvent) {[code].....
I have a movie that has an audio track (I have it set to "start" for the Sync). It works perfectly, but when I insert a preloader with it, the audio disappears. The rest of the movie still works fine (visual) but it is silent.
Pardon my most likely newbie mistakes.I imported a FLV file I created in After Effects into Flash CS4, using the wizard. I choose the correct file path and no skin. Then using the FLV playback components I made a custom play/pause button. When I test the movie it works beautifully. Not when I export (I have tried quicktime movie and SWF). I think I only get one frame (the first frame is empty, so not 100% sure).I have never worked with Flash, is there something I need to do in the timeline, like setting an in and out point or something?
have made preloaders before have had problems with delay, ultimately because you have used the 'attachMovie' method in your AS and extra weight has been added in to the mysterious '0th' frame.Using the 3 frame method ie ( 1st - preloader, 2nd- components, 3rd- application), here's what you do: Rather than having to rework your script and take out the attachMovie methods you can simply deselect 'export to first frame' on you're linked mc's. Now select the 2nd keyframe in the timeline and drag instances of these mc's onto the movie (off stage of course). Now, in the 3rd frame place the actionscript as you had it before (making sure you have placed stop actions). And there you have it! Now flash loads your linked mc's in the 2nd frame, and they can be preloaded along with the rest of your movie.
I am having a pretty irritating problem with the audio I am using for a Flash game which I am making using Flash 8 and Actionscript 2.0. The game itself is near complete and is already hosted online, it is a simple 2d shooter game where enemies go from one side of the screen to the other and you shoot them. I have built a preloader which works well however I have just added audio to the game, and I am finding that the preloader doesn't seem to take this audio into account. The game itself loads up and is ready to play, however it could be another 30 seconds or so before the audio will kick in.
I have a main song loop which plays in the background (triggered once the start game button is pressed). A bullet shot sound when the mouse is clicked (triggered through code), and various sound effects that are played on the timelines of the enemy movie clips characters. Part of my problem is that im implementing the audio in so many different ways and I am confused by the complexities of using audio in Flash. Should I build a separate preloader for the audio? Or am I simply doing something wrong in Flash itself when it comes to including the audio?
I am making a game with movie clips that spawn, and I have a preloaders so I have to uncheck all of the export in first frames. But now they don't export at all. Any hints? I would like to make the movieclips export in frame 3.
Sorry about the title, I'm not exactly sure how to explain this with a few words. I've looked through google searches and found that people find it easlier when exporting classes in frame 2 when using a preloader. I'm currently using the usual method of having frame 1 with the preloader, frame 2 with the asset holder and the bulk of the game, frame 3 has the stop(); action. This is the tutorial I followed to get a working preloader AS Gamer.
After many hours of searching I've only found mentions and revalations of people using export on frame 2 instead of the traditional asset holder, but no examples or tutorials. Does any know where I can find a tutorial with example code I reference to get a export on frame 2 preloader?
I am trying to capture a still frame from an (any) external swf file, by using my own flash movie as a proxy to load it and hand information regarding the Stage onto javascript. I want to keep it as wide compatible as possible, so I went with AS2 / Flash 8 for now.[code]...
He has a preloader using the classes below but is exporting classes in frame 2 in the publish settings for faster preloading. Is it even possible to use classes on a preloader this way??? I thought it was easy but this one is crazy hard to figure out[code]...
I have made a new website flash file, with Website.as as document class, that creates movie clip from the library and align them to the center of the screen. which are ;footer (linkage Footer class)mainContent (linkage MainContent class)I now need to insert a preloader in frame1, so I have checked Export classes in frame 2...but then nothing works anymore. (I do not see any movie clip being created.)
at first, I thought I could manage this myself searching the forums about "preloader" but none of the solutions seem to work. I think it has to do with the fact that I'm using the FLVPlayer with an external file. What am I looking for?
1. Well, the preload code for frame 1 that makes sure the external F4V (movie.f4v in the same dir) is loaded 100% before it jumps to frame 2 where the movie should start playing...

My animation is complete. Previewing it (.swf) works perfectly fine. Playing it in flash works perfectly fine. But once it has exported to .mov the frame rate temporarily drops in certain places (usually around tweens)...
So I added a bitmap to my library in flash CS5, and in its symbol properties I checked "Export for AS" and "Export in Frame 2" (I set Export Classes in Frame: 2 in AS settings.) On the first frame of my main timeline, I have
how to load audio and have it ready for after the preloader. I had it export for actionscript before but it loads before the preloader starts which really elimates much of the need for the preloader. I took off the linkage for it to load for frame 1. I search the forums and saw that a few people recommended following link
does anyone knows any way to code xml preloader? i need the XML preloader in the same frame.....not in two frmaes or with out using gotoAndPlay(); to next frame...
Main timeline- first frame...preloader.second frame... mc; within that mc I am using the "export for action script" propery in the properties panel on another mc...the problem - the "export for action script" is over-riding my preloader. When I check the "export in first frame" to off, the mc no longer functions....This can't be right, can it? If you use "export for action script" will you no longer be able to use a preloader?
Not sure if I'm in the right place, I apologize in advance if so. I'm somewhat proficient with html, but fairly new to flash, using cs4pro, as3.Here's my dilemma. Converting an existing html/css site to flash. Flash is main site now but a few html pages are still linked, a buy page and a form page, a few others. I can get the all the external html pages to link to a frame in the flash movie, and I can get the flash to link with all external urls.My problem comes when I move to a frame outside the main timeline. The movie is lets say 393 frames. All symbols/content are on seperate layers, and so is the action. Once the full movie ends, I have several frames past that where I have basically created frames for additional "pages" and created anchors for those frames, new layes for content, new layers for anchor (labeled) and new layers for a stop(); on each frame, I extended the pertinant graphic frames out to 410 from the original movie.
Now when the movies runs the buttons appear at about frame 115, so in the action layer I coded a keyframe and then added frames of it out to frame 410 or so: I have attached the .fla (not able to attach at this forum .fla here:s say to an external link (button) like members, the html member page opens, and if you click home button, back to flash frame, and all works, all buttons, on the home frame 393. But if you go to any of the external htmls, and then go back to any other frame like frame 401 the about page, and all the rest 402 403, etc, the page appears properly, but then none of the links function.
