ActionScript 2.0 :: "export For Action Script" Is Over-riding My Preloader?

Main timeline- first frame...preloader.second frame... mc; within that mc I am using the "export for action script" propery in the properties panel on another mc...the problem - the "export for action script" is over-riding my preloader. When I check the "export in first frame" to off, the mc no longer functions....This can't be right, can it? If you use "export for action script" will you no longer be able to use a preloader?
I made a preloader for a flash slideshow with different announcements in AS 3.0.When I export the movie to preview it everything works fine. The loading rectangle fills up and then you see the slideshow. The problem comes after I embed it in HTML. Instead of the Preloader to show all i get is a white rectangle the size of the SWF and then the slideshow begins. It's as if it was ignoring the preloader completely. I don't understand why it works when I export it but not on the actual site.

When I add linkage to the music file I'm using I need to select 'export in first frame' in order for the play/mute button to work. But when I do this the preloader doesn't show up until about 80%. Is there a way around using export in first frame while still having usable play/mute buttons.
I'm having trouble figuring out how to get my audio to load without exporting it in the 1st frame. In other projects where I use components, in the linkages panel, I deselect 'export in first frame', and put an instance of the component in an assets frame. That way the preloader opens right away and the components loadup in the second frame (which just gets jumped over when the movie plays). I'm trying to do this with my linked audio but it won't work. When I deselect export in first frame, I just get no audio. In the assets frame I have the actionscript

i am creating a flash website, i have a preloader at the start of the site. My problem is that when i view it as it would be seen on a browser the preloader doesn't appear straight away. i have an image with the preloader (site logo) and is 182kb file size and am guessing that this picture needs to load first for the next action to happen. if htis is so, other then reducing the file size is there anyway to make the preloader appear straight away.
I have a slide show that's about 800k and I'm trying to add a preloader. I tried 6 different preloaders today including a smart clip I downloaded from Macromedia. It seems that when I add a stop action after the preloader this hangs the entire movie. I've uploaded a working example of the slideshow without a preloader and a link to the fla of my NON-working attempt to apply the smart clip preloader here I think I'm just putting the stop action in the wrong place but I can't figure it out..

When I try to export my application to native installer with using Export Build Release, it isn't importing my sqlite database files which are in my application directory. Is there a way that I can import those database files ?

I have a slideshow that is looped ... it contains 5 slides.I am using a gotoandPlay action to control the slide show.

There is a fade transition between slides.When a button is released ... I want to gotoandPlay (frame 98) ... and then have it stop 10 frames later on (frame 108). Frame 98 includes the transition ... if I just gotoandStop on frame 108 ... I loose the transition.Is there any way to incorporate a stop action, after a gotoandPlay action on my button ... without naming instances etc.I.E.

I just want to make a simple button action using actionscript 2 but I can't get it to work! I'm sorry for even asking but I've been at this for too long now for it to not work I'm using Adobe Flash CS4 and I do the following --
File -> New Flash File (ActionScript 2.0) Insert -> New Symbol Name - test Type - button Export for ActionScript Identifier - test
And then draw it in using the keyframes and add the code to 'Actions - Button' for my button

I click on the button and it animates but no action event in the trace?
How can I get an action to follow another action when a button is clicked? When a button is clicked, I want the timeline to go to a certain frame and play and when it's done playing, to go to another frame and play. I basically want two actions in one function.
I couldn't come up with a good title for this question but basically the problem is this - I've got a series of thumbnails and clicking on a thumbnail loads a larger picture into a holder movieclip on the main stage. However, if you click another thumbnail while the first picture is still loading, then both pictures load and it goes on from there. How can I make my code so that clicking a new thumbnail cancels any actions from previous clicks?
how to make text acting as a preloader so that its color changes as preloader percentage. i dont mean how to apply the math, i mean how to mask it or whatever action to achieve that effect?

I just started working on a preloader screen that includes a preloader mask over a logo and a percentage dynamic text. I can get either or to work but not both at the same time. I notice that if I remove stop(); I can get the percentage to work but not the preloader image. With the stop(); embedded the image preloader works but the percentage doesn't.

I'm wrapping up a small corporate website, but I left the preloader to do until the very end, so instead of changing any layout of my View, I just moved everything to frame 2, and put the preloader on frame 1. I'm using some of the code here: http:[url].... which seems pretty ace.
The problem I'm having though is that CS5's built in preloader is going and loading the whole swf, then it runs my preloader (on frame 1) which causes it to move strait to frame two instantly (I changed it so now it at least plays through the animation then moves on, but it's still not loading anything during that screen).that is causing flash to load the entire swf before even playing my preloader on frame 1. I don't remember having this problem in CS4.

the other comprassor on my computer turn the movie with very bad quality
I try export in Flash, flash run for 5 minutes and than cracshed with no movie
