ActionScript 1/2 :: Click On A Certain Button, It Plays A New Music Clip?
May 3, 2006
I want to make it so that when I click on a certain button, it plays a new music clip. I am trying to do it by selecting the button I want, then going into behaviors, then +, then Sound, Play Sound... It then asks for the instance of the audio file that I want to play... but I don't know what it is.
I downloaded a flash template and have modified it to suit our company but there is something that I can't do. When the file loads in the browser, music immediately plays and loops until you click a button to stop the music. On our video page, we have video that we need to play that has sound in it. How do I get the background music to stop when my video plays without having to go up and stop the music manually. The videos are loaded via an external XML document and there are no buttons in the FLA file to link code to. the website is [URL]
Layer 1 - A simple movie clip symbol moves from Frame 1 to Frame 30 Layer 2 - I apply an actionscript stop(); on Frame 1 so that the movie stop at the beginning
I wish the movie clip symbol play when I click on it. How can I do that?
P.S. I tried to use the following AS on the movie clip but it fail.
Ok- so the idea is that when you click a button it plays the movies assigned to the variables gallery & button to the frames mentioned. Then the variables are changed and then when another buttons is clicked it does the same - 'except it doesn't - it does it once then sits there I have to use variables because there's a lot more buttons..but i don't understand why it doesn't work - it seems such a simple and obvious thing to try and do - why is it so HARD???
I have a website banner made in Flash. I have added a music file to it and Play and Stop buttons. I also have a Replay button to replay the banner animation once it stops.
I have put the music on a separate frame so that it will not play automatically when the banner loads. I have made the Play button direct to the frame the music is located at so that when clicked, it will go to that frame and play the music file.
The problem I am currently having is that if I click the Play button more than once, it will play the music file again on top of the current play-through.
So if I click Play, the music will play. Then if I click it again, the music will play again, but on top of the first instance of the music, so two instances of it will now be playing and it sounds horrible.
I would like to make it so that if you click Play when the music is playing, it will not play the music again until the music has stopped.
I have a movie clip with a sound at the beginning of my project, and when I click a button in another scene it starts playing the voiceover from that clip. I don't have the button linked to that clip.
I have a Start button on the title screen. I want the music to stop when you click on the start button. Also, I want for another music to start when you go to the next part of the animation and to stop when you click on another button.
I recently used one of those XSPF Flash player buttons on a website and of course it worked, played back music automatically, stops when you click button... but one weird thing I noticed is the song being cut off before it ends... One song I have is 4 minutes long, and only plays for 1.5 minutes..
want to make a time line (timeline is my graphic not the timeline in cs4, like historical timeline WWI, WWII, ETC) with clickable dates (D-DAY, Pearl HARBOR), when you click on a date it will fade in a semi-transparent box that has text (still seeing the original stage in the background behind the semi-transparent text box), when you are done reading the text box you can hit GO BACK to go to the historical timeline.I only have been using flash for about 3 months so bare with me.
I understand button symbol, movie clip symbol, etc. I can make it so that when you are OVER the date it plays an animation of the text box fading in but is kind of bad because if you move the mouse off the date it goes away, which is why I want to make it clickable.Basically I thinkI am using CS4 by the way.In short, make a button that when hit plays a movie clip animation of the textbox fading in front of the historical timeline, I believe I can easily do the go back by using the gotoAndPlay(); feature on the go back button to go to the beginning of the scene.Sorry about the long text, I am pretty sure the answer is easy.
I have read all threads and can not find a solution but i am not somebody with a lots of knowledge about actionscript so here is my problem i am using this script .
[code]....
the problem is that when i click on the first button loads ok but when click on second still showing the first movie clip in the back ,,,,, i have try everything without luck ,,,, i guess i need to keep reading but will like to find an answer to this situation ,
I've got a flash website that I've been using a little while nowIt was created for me, but I know enough on how to edit itHowever, I recently decided to add new music instead of the regular loops used beforeI added three full mp3's to the library and they are on the site and allbut it cuts off after the first minute of the song and it starts over
I have 5 different buttons for the navigation on my flash website. The first page is on frame one. When you click on any of the 5 buttons I want it to play frames 10 - 15 before moving to which ever frame the button 1-5 corresponds to. So:
Click on button 1 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 20 Click on button 2 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 30 Click on button 3 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 40 etc
Here I've a sound track included in timeline from first frame (not in actionscript).
And after intro, I've a video button where I added a video with sound which starts to play by clicking
Now the problem is both background music & video sound mixing & creates a noise kinda combination.
I need a solution like fading out the background music if i click the video button & fading in when clicking some other button or navigating to other pages?[code]...
I would like my application to be able to remain running while the user goes and uses another application. (It will be playing music) Additionally, how to communicate w/ Cocoa Touch from this environment?
If you think this is not possible, which platforms are capable of this (other than the obj-c mac x-code route, which I am trying to avoid)?
I am importing a movie clip as a symbol from a SWF using Embed to a AS3 program and, after attaching the movie clip to the stage, the movie clip keeps repeating. Before you ask I have indeed creating a script layer and put a "stop()" on the last frame. In fact the swf containing the symbol works perfectly fine when executed on its own or in Flashdevelop (my choosen IDE). Its only when imported does the clip keep repeating. Here is the code:
I am working on a project that I have three movie clips animate onto the stage.I then have 3 buttons come up correlating with each movie clip. How do I script the buttons to play the movie clips? The movie clips are embeded FLV files just fyi.
I'm currently working on a treasure hunting flash game where the player clicks on a part of the screen and their shovel (cursor) digs a hole on that area. We're using a grid to determine what areas of the screen are clickable, so I created this by making a grid of buttons. However, I'm only vaguely experienced with AS2, and have never touched AS3 until now.
Basically, I need it so when the user clicks one of the buttons (each is named in a separate instance, a1, a2, b7 and so on) it swaps out and is replaced with a graphic of a hole I created as a movie clip.
I working on the timeline and have some Actionscript 3 code (I have a actions layer on the timeline). I am not sure what the code is for clicking on a button(I made the buttons movie clips since I wanted to animate it) and it plays a movie clip.
i am doing a simple project in which i have 2 frames in the main time line and a movieclip in the first frame and a button.i have something else in the second frame.when i click the button the movieclip should start after it ends the timeline should move to second frame and stop.
Im new in flash, and i have a problem in my mp3 player. im using flash cs3. When i click the link to play the song, it plays the song. but when i click another song, it plays the first song. by the way its an XML driven. here's the codes that i've tried
Does anyone know the code for finding the global positioning of X & Y co-ordinates of a click of a button which is constantly rotating, and then secondly the code for when you click on the button it displays a movie clip on top of it -(position of x & y when clicked) at the angle that you clicked it (so underneath the buttons are still rotating so other people can click them where they are)to explain the context, I'm trying to design a mock up of a circular interactive table when someone comes up to it and clicks on one of the buttons that are moving, it reads where the person clicked it and opens up a new box (movie clip) where they clicked it (at the angle) so its not upside down if you are at the topI've included my .fla file which shows the four buttons moving and a little diagramexplaining what I'm trying to do.
I have many buttons (symbols). This is what I want it to do: -Select a button on the screen, and then a movieclip plays. - If the user selects any OTHER button on screen, a message box displays a message.
I followed the tutorial about making your own mp3player but I don't want the music to start directly I want it to start after I clicked on play ... Code: // Setup sound object var s:Sound = new Sound(); s.onSoundComplete = playSong; s.setVolume(75); [Code] .....
