ActionScript 1/2 :: Know When Text Has Finished Loading

The following code loades text into a textfield the problem I'm having is the routine at the bottom runs before the text loads and the scrollbar disappears even when there's enough text to overflow the textfield. How would I make sure the text has finished loading before running the code that enables/disables the scrollbar?
I have a movieclip clip that plays when the movie starts, the movieclip is a visual assets that show's that the application is loading some information but it's not showing any loading progress, just playing while the assets are loaded.I created a for loop that will load the assets using a simple loader, and then when the object is loaded the application push the object to an array.Problem is that when the loading starts all the animation that i have on screen stops until the loading is finished.The whole point is that the animation will play while it's loading.
I have set up a nice video site for a client. I have a sub menu where you can select swf files. Each swf has an FLV attatched to it. I prefered this method over XML for various reasons.In any case I would like after the swf has loaded, and the flv COMPLETES the entire movie, to automatically go to the next swf file and start that flv. I've tried many codes with no luck.
I am a flash newbie, how can I get the flash to start playing before it is finished loading on a website? I embedded a FLV file into a flash and I'm going to export it as a SWF, I want it to start playing the movie before it's done loading so people don't think that it's not working.
I have some code where I am loading a few hundred images into an array in Flash. I am using XML to pass in the list then a Loader for each entry like this -

I want to perform some action once all of these have finished loading. The only way I can think of is to increment a count each time one finishes and have a Timer that checks if the count has reached the number of images I am loading.
i have an animation with a series of colored squares appearing and disappearing from the stage [URL]..except that the squares appear and disappear). Each of the squares fade in and out using Actionscript, with a custom method that animates its alpha property over time. I want to pick randomly every few seconds a square, to make it disappear and put a new one in its place, and my code is more or less like this:
How do i check whether an external SWF which is loaded onto a movieclip sub_mc.loadMovie("introduction_1.swf")) has finished loading or not. If the loading is done, then an animatoin inside a movieclip will be played, else the preloader continues
how to automatically load external movie clips so that they load and play after the previous movie clip has finished. i am loading some external swfs with the bulkloader. The strange thing, they start playing in the background ( i can hear the sound) without even having added them to the stage.

I'm using the same code I always use for preloading another swf but it's not working this time. The problem this time is that when the loading bar gets to 16% every time you can hear the movie I'm loading playing in the background. I can just add a stop to the first frame of the movie I'm loading ("trial_1.swf") but how do I tell it to go to the second frame once it has loaded?

I'm trying to create a 'tickertape' (horizontal scrolling text that reloads and loops in a masked window once finished playing). At the moment for visual purposes I have generated the following. This is linking to a movieclip at the moment but doesn't loop once finished... it just keeps incrementally scrolling until it probaby ends up in infinity somewhere...
I have a class that loads data from a text file and puts it into an array called tdv.importedTxtArray (public var).In a separate class i have written [code]The infoArray does not then contain the imported text however because tdv.importedTxtArray is not given its popper contents until about 1/2 a second after the tdvLoader class executes (i.e: when Event.COMPLETE is run and the array is populated with strings from the external text file). Subsequently in the code above infoArray is set to a blank array.How can i get the code in my separate class to ''wait' until tdv.importedTxtArray is properly populated before accessing it.
in my projects i often use some xml files to load external text that i can format in css and it worked fine till now..i have a site that i am prograaming in italian and german and in both languages there is much text that contains special characters as "à " "ò" "è" "ù" "ä" "ü" and so on .. the problem is that when i write some text with this special characters in xml when the text is loaded in the flash this special characters are not recognised and instead of them a small square is displayed ..
i tryed to load the text from a html file instead of a xml file (because in HTML i know how to write theese special characters and let them display right in my html pages .. for example à = à but no way .. the flash now loades the text à instead of à ..

If i use the loadVariables it works, with the Html rendering.. if i use it with loadVars it works but now the html doesn't render. What i want is to load some text from my server into the text box and have the html to render. Also, is there a way to display the progress as the text loads, for people with slower connections?
So I'm loading text from an external file I've uploaded onto the internet. It loads absolutely fine when I test the movie from my computer, but when I upload it and embed it onto an html page, all of the dynamic text refuses to load. Can someone enlighten me as to what's going on? Or at least tell me how to fix it? XD;

I have one dynamic text field called "content_txt" I have 3 buttons with 3 different instance names (btn1 btn2 btn3) I have 3 text documents in a folder (1.txt 2.txt 3.txt)
I am able to have 1.txt loaded into content_txt, but here is the problem.
I would like btn2 to load 2.txt and btn3 to load 3.txt into content_txt.
I have looked for an answer for this problem (and found many close answers) but when I try and make my code fit, it just doesn't work. I'm really new to this so any help would be amazing. (or if this has been answered somewhere else and I have missed it..
Go into the 3D Studio Max link and in there you'll see my problem.....How can I get the text to format to the width of the dynamic text field? What I have are variables set up to load text from an uploaded .txt file, into the dynamic text field... it seems to run each line way over to the right...
When a user enters the website, it will pull text from some location (possibly an XML file) and load it into a text field. The trick is that I want it to randomly load a different chunk of text in each time the user opens the site. There are about 25 different small pieces of text I want to randomly load.
i am loading text to an text field from an xml file in which i am having superscript and subscript text. i enabled the html property for my Textfield. but still the text is displaying the in the textfield is normal like i am giving u example .its an mathematical expression;
if i write like this my_txt.htmlText = "x<sup>2</sup>";
it showing like x2 where as it has to show like x to the power of 2.so what should i do to display the text like this ...
