I have text field which is 0 by default (score_txt)Two buttons +1 and -1 (plus_btn and minus_btn) When I press +1 text increases by one, and when i press -1 it decreses

I want is to take a the text from and input text box and when you press a submit button have it post to a php page. All was going well... but then I changed my code from value1 = "password" to value1 = password.text; and the php instead of coming back with the user's password, comes back undefined. WHY WHY WHy, does it except it when I say value1 = "password" and not with the value1 = password.text; (and 'password' is the instance name of the input text... (not using flash vars)
I have created an input textbox and a dynamic textbox. My idea is to enter something into the input textbox, and on pressing ENTER key it would show up in the dynamic textbox. When I press ENTER, the text dissapears from the input txt, and nothing happens.
I have an arrow which I can control with the UP and DOWN keys. They move to a specific y coordinate when I press the arrow keys. What I want is when the "play" text is "selected" by the arrow to go to a frame called "levelone". But I can't make it work This is my current code:

I have 6 input texts on stage and I want to compare this to an array with the right answers, so far so good. The problem came when even if I put the right answer it considered it bad. After some hours and thanks to the debug, I managed to see that a line break was being added to the value of the input text only when I clicked on it to type, if I enter the input text by tapping the "tab" key, everything works just fine.The input texts are named r0 to r5, here is the comparison code:
If I want to load dynamic text without having to press a button. I want it to load in the first frame of my movie automatically when it loads. What should I do? What I have so far on a button is :

Can someone point me in the direction of a tutorial to scroll a text field down and up with the press of the 'down' and 'up' button? I realize this is very simple, so if you could be so kind to take 20 seconds and let me know.
The problem is: When I press my buttons twice, the text in the scroller disappears.Everything is set so that It shouldnt be possible to press the same button twice though.The situation in short is as follows. I have 4 scenes and 4 buttons, every button linking to respectively another scene / page. The buttons all are in movieclips. I have 4 different movieclips all containing all buttons. For the page movieclip the-button in the movieclip getsœswitched o by ungrouping it and so on, and so on.On every scene I put the movieclip, with the correct button switched of, on top, with thenction. The other movieclips are made invisible by the visible = true˜delete this.onEnterFrame; function.Im not a develloper but a graphic designer. Dont know much about AS2. I bought the photoslider and textscroller on FlashDen and thought d finnish of this project pretty quickly, but I thinking m almost there" for already many hours now.
I *know* this is simple. I've read every thread on this board pertaining to this (including senocular's Best Of thread), done everything there and this still doesn't work and I can't see why.
I feel like an idiot even asking, because I've seen the examples and lengthy tutorials.
All I want to do, is change the color of a dynamic text field when you press a button. But I want the name of the field to be a variable.
Now, this is what's there:
1. the variable "_root.expinttype1" is equal to "branch" and is set elsewhere. 1a. There is an existing dynamic field called "branch" on screen.
2. On the button release I set the format:

Why? I set a dummy variable txt = _root.expinttype1; and even threw it into a text field to verify the data, and it shows "branch", so why doesn't this work?

This is what I tried, I am very new to Action Script, so excuse the futility of my code.
I am making something that requires me to have a key pressed. I tried using the Code: if (Key.isDown(Key.thekey) But the key I want does not show up. I want to use the a,s,d,f,g,h,j,k,w,e,t,y,u, keys but they don't show up so I don't know how to make that happen. on a letter keypress. I also would like to know how to make it do something on the key release. I am using flash CS3 and ActionScript 2.0
I'm able to detect (at the most) two simultaneous key presses via a switch statement and series of booleans. For my game's sake, I need to be able to detect up to 4 keys.
Here's my test script:

i have a MC with 2 MCs inside. I'm wondering if there's a way to temporarily disable keyboard shortcuts in Flash? The problem is that some key presses don't register when I'm testing a movie in flash because flash itself registers the key. For example pressing "B" while I'm testing a movie activates the Brush tool but doesn't trigger an event in the actual movie. When I publish the movie and try it in a browser it works fine.
In my game the Superhero walks around the screen by pressing some keys. But between the moment you press the key and the moment the moment the Superhero starts to move there's a slight delay.

I'm working on a project that is kind of basically a slideshow in Flash. I need to make objects appear everytime I click the Right Arrow button. So far I've made the first slide appear with this code:

My problem is now making the others slides appear one after the other, every time I click the Right Arrow button.I think I have to do a for cycle, but I don't really understand how it works.

which works great except that it scrolls the whole thing all at once. Is it possible to put some kind of increment in there so that on a key press it only moves a certain amout of pixels?
