ActionScript 2.0 :: 2 Swf Files In Html Frames?

I have been desperate to find how to do this. I have found some answers to this, but nothing I can make work. The main place I have found is[URL].. and it wants to have the html docs as a template for flash. This is just confusing the issue and would rather find an example and don't mind editing and adding things by hand. I know this is difficult, at least from what I read and I don't know what I am missing. I assume the java in the html is what is messing me up.I don't have mx, so I cannot do the local thing, and need a flash 4 or 5 way of doing this. I have found some small ways of java, but I need to instruct the second movie to go to a label depending on what button is pressed in the first movie.

I need to allow users to preview audio files for purchasing. I have CF pages that return records form a SQL database. Each record contains the same swf file however, each swf file points to a different mp3 for previews of different audio examples. So far, everything is working fine. My problem is that I need to be able to stop the sound from one swf when I click to play a second swf .The only solutions I see in Flash forums deal with loaded swf files. These are not loaded files they are separate files within a page. The question is: How do control one swf from another swf in the same page.The following items have not worked: soundChannel.stop();,soundMixer.stopAll()

Without including swfobject.js can only swf files be loaded through html.And if so is there a common tag for all the browsers.

I'm creating an interactive flash application that uses hundreds of individual renders from a 3d modelling app. The image file size is 800 x 600. Each sequence that i import to the stage is around 120 images and each gets put into a separate key frame. The problem is, often when I import batches of files into flash the program crashes and stops responding.The problem gets worse after each succesful import ie. after importing the first lot of files, its unlikely that the second lot of files will importInterestingly, I dont have this problem on my pc.

Recently I bought CS4 as I decided that I wanted to design and create a new website for hosting my music productions, I have used dreamweaver in the past so I am quite familiar with XML etc but I wanted to make something with a little more to it. After talking to quite a few people and reading into it all I found that this would be my best option. After thinking that it was all going to be quite nicely straight forward Im banging my head against a wall in trying to learn and understand Actionscript.
I have currently designed all of the pages, I have used a few tutorials on actionscript 3.0 and have the whole website is functioning, my pages, frames, labels and buttons are all functioning how they should on the timeline and there is around 14 pages..
The problem i've had for around 4 days now is getting all of my audio previewssnippets to work, i have around 20 of these and I need them to be spaced out on about 6 pages (frames) ; Each frame is a different release etc
In each frame, I have 8 buttons 4X play buttons next to each track and 4xStop next to that... play_btn, play_btn2, stop_btn2 and so on..
I've set it so that all I want to do is be able copy the code into the other frames and also the buttons (which are on a different layer) and then all I have to do is enter the filenames in the code below (Track1.mp3, Track2.mp3 etc)
So... it all works fine on my first frame of my release page.. The audio plays and stops for each track, no problems at all.
Now,, the problem happens when i copy the actionscript from my first release page(frame) to the next.. its about 25 duplicate functions, duplicate variables etc
Is there some kind of way I can put all of this into some kind of Class or Tag.. And this code only operates inside this frame and not in the next to cause the duplicate errors? I realise that I could Label every single variable, function and button differently covering all of the frames so that it dosn't cause the duplications to occur but, I am hoping there is some other way around this..

I would like to hear from experienced AS3 users: are there any kind of rules or 'good behavior' on where to place a code for files. Should one use *.as files instead of frames to place code? I mean, yes *.as file is pretty easy to track and modify. But there are a lot of stuff that could be done using frames.

I'm making a website and I imported an swf file to library and brought that into the stage.If I click into the swf file and I try to make buttons that change a page it doesn't work, but if I don't double click on the swf file on the stage and do it in the main time line then it works.

my preloader starts at 55 percent. this is because the first frame (if i can trust the bandwidth-profiler) has a size of 32 kb. i think this is strange, because the b-profiler also tells me the film has a total size of 35 kb. after the first preloader frames are some small files with transitions only, and then there is the main frame, which has a size of 18 kb my preloaderframe only contains a small bar and a dynamic textfield, just like the tutorial says... i ve already searched the forums, i found that quite many people have the same problem, but i didnt find any solution... i do not load any swfs dynamically. the only thing i can imagine that could cause that problem is the embed font which i use for the dynamic textfield in the preloader. is that possible?

I'm trying to create a website that is basically a flash toolbar that directs the user to different HTML pages at the bottom, much like this website here.Could anyone point me in the right direction? Do I build the bar in Flash and then the HTML portion in dreamweaver or do I build it all in Flash? Would an iFrame work for this sort of website?

I know this can be done in html but flash I don't know. I want to stay on the same url page and load another url in my flash movie. You can do this with SWF's, you have a main movie and then you can load a second swf into the main movie. Can this be done with a main swf and load in a url page into the swf?

I want to place a Flash header in an HTML page with frames. I followed a tutorial from this site: [URL]
I could not figure out how to apply it to my own page though, because it didn't explain how to set up the HTML frames at all. I set up a frameset in Dreamweaver, so I have 3 frames, called "topframe", "mainframe", and "bottomframe". In Flash, I applied the following action script to a button as the tutorial instructed:

getURL("affiliates.html", "mainframe");
}
However, when I click on the button to go to "affiliates.html", it opens in a new browser window instead of the main frame.

My webpage consist in two Frames, a TopFrame and a MainFrame. The TopFrame contains my menu wich is made in flash. By now you might have guessed the problem. Thats right, I'm trying to get flash to open/change html files in the MainFrame by clicking the a buton on the menu in my TopFrame. This is the code I'm using:

Using Flash CS3 and created a navbar with AS 3. All links work fine to open html pages, but I'm having trouble targeting the pages to a specific frame.
I've checked and re-checked code in my actions layer and in my html pages.
Code for AS 3 is "navigateToURL(galleries, "_content");" "Galleries" is the variable for the URLRequest and "content" is the name of the target frame in the Index page. All files are local on my computer and the paths are correct.

I have a page (page1) with flash content that has an imbedded mc. The imbedded mc contains a group of thumbnail /buttons that bring up larger images (Thumb2 moves the playhead to frame 2 of the mc) there is also a unique button on each frame of the mc that should bring up a unique html page (a form) for that frame reference. When page 1 loads with the mc in it's default start position at frame 1 the form button works perfectly, however none of the other form buttons work and if I click on Thumb1 (which should be the start position mc frame 1) after clicking on any of the other form buttons, the form button for Thumb 1 no longer works. Everything else works as it should and I get no error codes.
I have the code for the form buttons located in the actions layer of the main timeline as follows;

BUT the buttons are not separate (not separate .swf's) they are all in a sliding menu.
So how do i attribute those buttons on the sliding menu to open up files in a specific frame on a website?

I have managed to load an external text file in one place one the maintimeline. I would like to do the same thing on other frames. When I go to duplicate the same thing that I did on the first one I get a duplicate textReq request. Do I need to give the textReq a more specific name for each section? When I did this the movie wouldn't even recognize and of the code that was working before.I am attaching link so you can see sections I am talking aboutAlso you will notice that the swf file I loaded won't go away. I have three FLV movie files that are places on diffrent frames on the main time line. When the viewer clicks on diffrent buttons I send them to that specific frame by go to and stop action and the flv start playing, but if they click out of that frame by pressing another button the video still plays on the background and they can hear the audio.this doesn't hap stop the video from playing by pressing thepen if they stop button on the flv player.

I am trying to eliminate the Loader component from a project. Run locally, the Loader is sufficient to load-up the voiceover swf files that exist on many of the frames in the parent file. On the web, the short download delays at runtime due to the Loader are causing timing issues. I'm not sure if there is a way to preload multiple swfs into specific frames of a parent file so that they are available before runtime.

I am making a few animated flags for the corners of my website... so I made some pretty cool ones in Flash. but HTML doesnt like the swf files... So I had the ingenous idea to make them into gifs.... But now the mask I used to make the flags comes out on top and you cant see the 'flag' part anymore You can download it here

I have a .mov movie that I want to play on my website. In years past, I would use Adobe Video Encoder CS3 (I believe that's what it was called) and would turn the file into a .flv. Then, I believe I would use swfobject and it would display with the typical play and expand to full size buttons as well as the timeline.
I downloaded the latest version of swfobject (2.2) but this only seems to play swf files.

In main.swf I loaded file.swf as:

When main swf loaded in HTML with an absolute link like:[URL].. It reports 404 error loading failed of file.swf
Because it looks for file.swf at current web host.What's the best way to do this without hard code absolute url in main.swf?

I've created a full screen flash website. When I test the file in flash, its all good. Now I need to put it online to show the client, but whenever I try to do this...all I get is a black screen. Even if I use Flash's own Publish as HTML option, all I see is a black screen. the code on my main timeline is like this:
