I�m making a movie with various movieclips on stage. At times it may be necessary to inform the user of something, and to do this I�d like to blur the background. Is there a way to blur all the objects on a stage?
I realise I could store all the movies in a single movie clip and blur that, but for other reasons I�d prefer not to do this.
I am looking for some help on a specific effect. I was pretty good in the old days in flash but I have fallen behind badly and the new action script and such is making my head spin a bit. The effect I am looking to do is like the FETblur,first one on the page, [URL]...

how to apply a rotational motion blur to a movie clip using the Tween Class and Blur Filter? I have found info on bluring an animation this way, but only via the x or the y axis, not the rotaion.

What I'm trying to do is control movieclips that are within a movie clip I have added to the stage.
First I did this:

This worked fine. But within this there is a mc called printBtn_mc that I want to target.I tried to declare it as a variable like I did with NavigationContainer_mc, but it doesn't work.
what I'm trying to do is access the data of several movies clips, that are inside of several other movie clips:
MC1.insideMC1._visible=false (which works, but isn't dynamic)
but dynamically with a FOR loop. I've tried:

I want to load the movie clips OutLines and Colorable into another movie clip, instead of just on the stage, so that I can use the jpeg encoder class on that movie clip.
The problem is, i need to detect the quantity of movieclips that a child movie clip is over A movie clip is over several boxes and that boxes are MC, in the image for example when i drag the child MC, this is over some movie clips but i cant detect which movieclips are.

View 1 RepliesI have multiple movie clips on 4 labeled frames of my movie. The keyframes are as follows : People, Place, Portfolio, Possibilities
The buttons to go to each of these keyframes work, although because I have a movie (different for each keyframe) I cannot get the previous movie's audio to stop when I click to another keyframe.
Also, I cannot get the other movie to work once I am on the next page.
The movieclips are named- Btn2 -which is the movieclip that plays once clicked on the homepage. Btn3- which is the movieclip that is supposed to play once clicked (on the people page).

give it some time to load- then click the doorbell- let the movie play for a little bit then click on people...the door closes, but the sound continues.

I have a short TEXT that I turned into a symbol, it is a MovieClip on the stage. I applied a preset motion of blur fly in to it and it does fly in but does not blur. I tried to use the motion editor to increase a blur to 255 but even when I add it on the initial keyframe, there is NO blur.

Basically, I have a flv file within a movieClip, and I need the edges of the video to look feathered.
I'm not that great with Actionscript 3.0, so naturally I have an hurdle to leap.
I using the 3D Carousel from flashcomponents.net and I need to figure out how to get the images blur when they are not the front focal on the Carousel. I tried an onRelease (which works to un-blur it), but I didn't know what else to pair it with so when I click on another object it blurs and goes to the back. I don't want it to blur when I roll off, only when another object is clicked.
I have text that I would like to come in to the stage from the side, but I would like it to be a horizontal blur like it is fast, then unblur to a sharp text. Is this something that I can do in all within Flash?
