So if I have a movie clip button, when that button is released I want it to load a html file into a MovieClip container, that container is named TutorialContainer...I also want the html to conform to the containers size and position.
I have my main swf embedded into a html page, and what I want is that when a user selects a certain button it unloads my main swf and loads up a different one in the same HTML page.
Everything is embedded in an HTML site. The HTML loads a preloader that then loads the actual flash movie. Inside this movie I created a few buttons, inside a scroll bar movie clip. I want the buttons to load a whole new movie inside the same html. The code I'm using in the button is simply:
on(release) { loadMovie("new_movie.swf", 0); }
The problem is that it works beautifully in the Flash movie tester but doesn't do anything when tested inside the browser, embedded in the HTML. I think the problem is that the HTML embeds as an object the first movie, the preloader for the menu movie, not the menu movie itself.
I have a flash file which loads an XML file containing links to my photos.var listLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader( new URLRequest("filelist.xml") );When I test out the Flash movie through Flash, there are no problems.When I place it in my index file, the XML file no longer loads. (just the swf)When I place the XML file in the same directory and the XML and swf files, it loads the images.[code]I've also changed the url in actionscript to:var listLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader( new URLRequest("mediaflashfilelist.xml") );
Update: Turns out this is undocumented behaviour of the NetStream class - NetStream loads relative to the swf, as opposed to URLRequest which loads relative to the HTML doc...annoying.I am having a strange issue where loading an FLV file using thefl.video.VideoPlayer class that comes with CS4: Adobe docs hereUsually when loading external content into flashplayer, the path is relative to the HTML page that the swf is embedded in - but when I try and load an FLV using the VideoPlayer class the player looks for a path relative to the swf, not to the HTML (as you would expect).
eg: My file setup is:index.html (which contains the swf)swf/my-video-player.swfvideo/my-video.flv
I have an html page with an .swf in it.when this page loads, i want it to play a certain section in my swf (which I have labelled).Is there a way for me to do this? using javascript?i.e. <body onload=( gotoandPlay (starthere) )
So I'm making a Flash site that needs to have different swfs on a bunch of different html pages for easy linking purposes. The problem: Even though the swfs are small, as you navigate between pages there is what looks like a white flash just before the swf shows up. I know this is the background of the html page as the swf is loading. Is there any way to load the page in a certain way to avoid this? Would a preloader help? Here's an example of the site:
-1 large html (home.html) file houses 2 html files (aaa.html and bbb.html) -aaa.html consists of 1 swf button -bbb.html is empty
question: is it possible to click on the button in aaa.html and have the action occur in bbb.html? (for example, clicking the button in aaa.html will load a swf in bbb.html)
I am using Flash CS4, I have been looking for a tutorial out there about full screen mode, but haven't find one, what want is something like this: http:[url].....I want the website, in html page to fit the screen as soon as the site loads, in, I mean as soon as the user enter the address in the browser, I want the sire to fit the screen like the URL provided above,
I made a .swf that loads a .xml file from a directory called "xml".That file lists the images that are to be loaded into the .swf.The .swf is embedded into an html file.The issue we are seeing is that if you don't include "www" in the url, the images don't get loaded (??!).But the .swf is running, and all the html and css works.If you use "www" in the url, everything works perfectly.[code]
So I'm wanting to create a DocumentClass that is willing to accept a variable for a path to an XML file, passed in from the HTML, like thisindex.HTML page would have this: mySWF.swf?xmlPath=xml/xmlFileName.xmlIn the FLA (SWF) I would have only a DocumentClass load a .AS file.In the .AS File I need to accept or read the paramater being passed in from the HTML page.
I have a main.swf file. In first frame i load a background slideshow with this code:
[Code]...
My problem is that when the site loads the 1st time and click from the menu to go to the 2nd frame (1st content page) then i have to wait at about 3-4 seconds to load my html content. The same for the 3rd frame. If these two content pages load for the 1st time, then the pages open immediately. What can i do for this? Is there a way to open this content pages more quickly, or place a loader, and with what code?
I made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.
I am trying to make a scrolling banner like the html <marquee> tag that loads text from a .txt file. Here is what I have so far:
Frame1
Code: var formatObj = new TextFormat(); formatObj.size = 15; formatObj.color = 0; formatObj.font = "Comic Sans MS";
[code].....
For some reason it only works by using the stop(); command. The problem is that this causes the animation not to automatically start when placed into an html page. The result I want is for the text to automatically begin to scroll.
I have an HTML page with buttons. Each button needs to have a getURL to open the Flash site, but then somehow, needs to also load the appropriate swf into that Flash site... My reasoning is because I have some scripts under my site that need to be in HTML (or PHP) for search engines, that way I don't have to do the whole site in HTML.. I hate having a HTML index page, but it's the only solution I could come up with. So, when a visitor selects any of the navigation buttons, I don't want them to have to select that button again, when the Flash site loads. how to do this for Flash 7 / AS 2.0? Or if there are any posts here about it?
I have a little Flash intro SWF i prepared and handed off to a friend who is implementing my intro animation into an HTML site.... The problem is that once the SWF (intro) finishes, there is a short gap (blank white page) before the actual HTML site loads. Is there a way around this? Is this something i need to code on my side (AS3) or is this a problem for my HTML/javascript buddy to figure out......or both.
I have two SWFs on an HTML page. One loads fine and the other (loaded externally) apparently fails.
I get this from the server:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2036: Load Never Completed.
I get this when testing it locally in Safari:
Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
I don't really understand where the hick-up is... because my paths are actually quite simple. All my flash files on the website are located in the same folder. The first one loads in fine, but the one being loaded into it does not. When viewing the SWF by itself, everything checks out as well.
I am developing a application which loads different swf's on press of a button. I am using flash.display.Loader class. This works fine in normal scenario. When the network is slow, and the user clicks on the button several times, it tries to load many swf's. This results in ambiguous results such as showing up a different swf. How do I make sure only one swf is loaded at a time?I found a method Loader.close() which closes the connection, the problem I face with that is how do I know if the load is happening. There is a property connected in URLStream, which I cannot use here since i am using display.Loader.
I've created transitions betweens two external swfs, which both get loaded when their button is clicked. The problem is the buttons only load the swf once, then they stop working when I click either of them again.Here's the code:
import fl.transitions.*; import fl.transitions.easing.*; // tween the main menu into place upon opening
i have this code below that allows me to switch between images using a mc button, but when i press, the mc loads but does not play the fade in? Can someone explain what is missing in this code that skip the play?
I am trying find the correct as3 code to make a button on Click, open a pdf in a new window. I have tried different ways, but when I add the code not only does it give me errors, but it makes my swf flip through all the pages instead of stopping on load. It is fine before I enter the code for this button. Just to let you know, this button is within a movie clip on the main stage. I really wanted it in a MC within another MC, but can't figure out where to put the code.
Should it go on the main timeline, where all the rest of the code is, or should it go within the MC?
I using flash 8, actionscript 2.0.I am using this code on a BUTTON in order to load and external swf into an empty movie clip:
on(release){ _root.empty.loadMovie("test.swf"); }
It works fine, however I would like the button to first go to a NEW FRAME within the main timeline of the main movie, before it loads this external swf.
Im creating a portfolio, and one of the "pages" is a xml gallery. What is happening is that when the gallery is loaded over the menu, the area where the gallery covered the menu button are disabled even when I load, for example the "contacts"page... it remains only a really small clicable area over the buttons... heres the website in case you wanna check out (the website is fluid so be sure to resize the window so the gallery covers some part of the buttons):
I am loading swf file on prev and next in my image gallery. its an xml driven gallery..its working fine.Now i want when i click on next and prev button it loads the swf but with different url.I came to know that it can be done by using deep linking.
I am creating a library like flash file for our game. I am using adobe flash cs5 with as3 and adobe indesign. I am still very new at flash(a real newbie) and i am wondering if anyone could help me in my problem.
i have a movieclip file named "mainPage". mainPage contains 6 buttons (with a cyrstal design) but lets focus only on 1 button. The 1st button contains the name Art_btn which calls the movieclip artBook when the button is clicked (which is my problem) . I have another movieclip named "artBook". the contents in my artBook are separated or written on each frames that could be called when clicked next or prev.
here is my prob. i dont know what is the right code that would call for artBook when Art_btn is clicked.i tried inserting codes such as loadMovie, gotoAndPlay and addChild but when I test it, the mainPage contents doesnt show up and it produces errors.
This should be simple but...I have several buttons "Questions" on the main timeline. The answers to these Questions are at specific cuepoints in the flv. This .flv has nav.cuepoints inserted during encoding.Click the button needs to load the flv,then automatically go to the specific cuepoint. Then it needs to run, eventually, to the end of the flv.I dont want the user to have to load the video first then use the cuepoints.I also dont want the video to load at the start, only after one of the questions(buttons) have been clicked.
Will the flv buffer from the cuepoint or does it have to buffer from the start of the video regardless of the cuepoints?
code Im playing with:
import mx.video.FLVPlayback; //play at start var my_flvPb:FLVPlayback;my_flvPb.autoPlay = true;[code].....
i need to mouseover those buttons and have the xml data display in some dynamic text boxes. i'm going to get a book once i get off work. but i think the way i do that is to add another MouseEvent after the previous one right? do i have to write the whole pedals.addEventListener part? the red part is just my best guess after reading a tutorial, the tutorial was not for what i am trying to do though so i might be way off. like, i dont know if that xmlLoader stuff goes there or not, i still need to learn the correct syntax for as3.
i am stuck though because this doesnt work. i dont know what to do. the dynamic text boxes have instance names of "item" and "ssnumber" what do i still need to add? i know i'm still kindof far off.
i have already done this in as2 and it works but my company just bought a service that will be hosting it and they only support as3 so they are kindof forcing me to learn it (it's about time i guess)
