ActionScript 2.0 :: [CS3] Streaming Flv To Trigger Embedded Mp3 On Pause?
Feb 29, 2008
I have a loop (mp3) playing from the instant my index page is loaded. This is to be my web portfolio site and on the third page (loaded by clicking a linkage button), I have some buttons that trigger streaming flv files in an flv playback component. What I want to do is to pause or stop the loop for the duration of each flv, then when the streamed flv is finished, the loop resumes playing. Is there a way to do this? I can do this if the flv files are embedded in the swf, but since these files are streamed, I am kind of at a loss.
With that i have no problem, where i am completely lost is the possibility of triggering an event after de 15 seconds (first parameter of SoundLoaderContext) are loaded, ie, adding an event listener or something like that.
Im streaming a flv and i need to go and the next frame afterwards, or trigger an event. But at the moment the video just stops on the end...hows is it possible to carry on playing the flash movie?
So I've been "doing research" for a couple of days now, found nothing on this subject, and let me get this straight:
Is there no way to pause/resume a sound whilst it's being streamed?
Because loadSound() will start playing it immediately; attachSound() can't stream; and start() will simply not work till it's fully downloaded, or am I missing some essential brain cells here?[code]...
Is there a way to resume a streaming sound once it's been paused and whilst it's being preloaded in AS2?The issue being that start() won't work till the song is fully downloaded, loadSound() is only called initially and attachSound() can't stream.So first the sound is initiated with loadSound(), then I make it "pause" with stop() and what do I use for resuming? loadSound() with re-initiate it and start() won't work till the sound is fully preloaded, what the hell??Is there any other way of streaming external MP3s in AS2? Will simply switching to AS3 solve this?
I am developing a site that features a dynamic gallery for photos and sounds! I successfully made all the elements and have the gallery working perfectly! The thing I want is to add a pause button for the streaming audio.
Is this possible? For non streaming audio I can do the pause button easily by getting the duration of the audio and then stopping it at the current position then playing from there. But with streaming the same technique I used doesn't work.
I have just a play and pause button on a website I'm creating for a client that streams one mp3 song. It works great with the code below, but the problem is that when it reaches the end, it doesn't loop back to the beginning. I would like for the user to be able to press the play button at the end to hear the song again, or include another button that rewinds back to the beginning.
Code: this.createEmptyMovieClip("sound_mc", 10); music = new Sound(sound_mc); music.loadSound("[URL]", true); music.start(); active_button = "play"; [Code] .....

The Flash site I am building includes an FLV video which is embedded into a SWF (SWF1), which contains the video control components. SWF1 is in turn loaded into another SWF (SWF2) after SWF2 is launched. After I leave the part of SWF2 which contains the video, the video and audio continue to play. You can still hear the audio after you have moved away from the SWF1 video.The SWF1 video is part of a set of mostly PNG images that slide like a slide show along the X axis. When I hit the forward arrow, the SWF1 video slides out to the left and a loaded PNG image slides in from the right and into view. But you still hear the audio from SWF1 and the video continues to play.All of the loaded SWF video (there are three total) and PNG images are loaded into the same movie clip.Question: How can I tell the FLV video embedded in SWF1 to stop playing once SWF1 has moved out of view? I would like SWF2 to tell SWF1 to stop the video.
I'm new to Flash, and obviously AS3 (or AS in general) and am currently making a menu in which I have 2 video files.I want people to be able to play and pause (and stop) these videos.I currently have them playing and pausing using the FLVplayback method with no skins (have to make my own buttons). Though this is working I really need the video files to be embedded into the .swf/.fla as apposed to an external video.I have imported the videos into the library but they're not in use atm.
Is it possible to tell FLVplayback to use a embedded file from the library?If not is it possible to make a embedded video play/pause/stop in AS3 any other way? I couldn't seem to get it to which is why I went to FLVplayback method.
I just need something simple, where there is only pause, play and stop buttons. I usually load the music within the flash movie and play from there, but I would like to build one where if you press play, the music loads and plays streaming on the spot. I have got a couple of more complex streaming style mp3 players but I would like to use a simplified streaming version. Any recommendations or code that I can just add to a button?
I have a swf that has embedded audio on the swf's timeline which is set to Stream. This swf is then loaded into my main flash timeline via the loader class. I have a button coded as a toggle switch that pauses the loaded swf via the stop() and play() command. This works fine. The issue is that when the swf is paused (stop()), the audio is longer heard, but it continues to play. When I press my toggle switch again, the swf begins to play exactly where it was paused and the audio is now heard, but the issue is that the streaming audio is now out of sync since the swf timeline paused, but the audio continued to play. Is it possible to stop or pause the embedded audio on the timeline? I've tried looking at the SoundMixer static class, but this doesn't seem to help. I can use SoundMixer.stopAll(), but there's no way to start the audio again.
I have a flash video that is set to autoplay when the page loads. We've just implemented thickbox/lightbox system on it now so when you click on the video it enlarges into that new frame. Problem is, when that's done the video/audio is still playing while the video in the thichbox is playing too. This leading to ineffective listening. Does anyone know a code that would trigger the video to pause when clicked anywhere on the video screen?
I have an application done in flash- on the main Scene Level, everything has only one frame but I have MCs and the like that are triggered by actionscript.There are quite a few nested functions on the main actions layer as well as an "onEnterFrame" function that reloads XML data in the background, etc... but that is not the problem.
The problem is, that at one point, I am calling a few MCs that kind of close up a section of the page like blinds- and then I want a text to appear ontop of that now closed area... but if I just write...
...it all happens simultaneously, of course.I guess I could check for "BlendeT1"'s (or T2's) current frame (since it's an MC)... but how do I wait while that MC runs / until it reached a certain frame? How can I keep the rest of the actionscript in the main function from continuing?
I am trying to create a pause button that will pause everything on the screen including movieclips/audio. Right now I can't figure out how to pause the movieclips.
I have some banners I am doing right now and have a pause timer question. I am fairly green at coding. In my first frame I have this:
[Code]...
I want it to pause each time in the last frame for 8 seconds and loop only 3x. Is there a better way to write this? I know all my code should be in the first frame but I still suck.
I am using Macromedia Flash Pro 8. I have a flash intro that has words (phrases) which slide in. I would like to add a 7 second pause between each phrase to give people time to read them (no buttons). Could someone tell me the script(s) to use with all functions, etc. included - as I am so new to all this. I have been looking for weeks & tried many codes but none seem to work - or I don't know exactly where to place them - or both
I have a timeline of 30 frames, each it's own mc (page01_mc, etc.). In each mc I show a picture or two and hear narration.I have a first, prev and next nav on the main timeline. I need to add a play/pause btn that will pause both pictures and sound. I assume I do that in each mc, but do not know where to find the code.Here is what is in each mc now:
var mySound:Sound = new Sound(); mySound.load(new URLRequest("english/Intro01.mp3")); mySound.play()
As of Flash 10.1, they have added the ability to add bytes into the NetStream object via the appendBytes method URL...The main reason for this addition is that Adobe is finally supporting HTTP streaming of video. This is great, but it seems that you need to use the Adobe Media Streaming Server (URL...) to create the correct video chunks from your existing video to allow for smooth streaming.I have tried to do a hacked version of HTTP streaming in the past where I swap out the NetStream objects (URL...), but there is always a momentary pause between the chunks. With the new appendBytes, I tried to do a quick mock up with the two sections of video from the preceding site, but even then, the skip still remains.Does anyone know how the two consecutive .FLV files needs to be formated in order for the appendBytes method on the NetStream object to create a nice smooth video without a noticeable skip between the segments?
We are streaming a one hour F4V from streaming media server 3.5.2 and for some reason it is seeing our one hour video as being 10 hours long. We have tons of other videos and never ran into this problem in any of the other files. This is the only file that exceeds one hour. This occurs in the default player from the streaming server.
I'd like to gain read only access to the following parameters of embedded Flash videos located on sites that I do not own through my own custom browser extension/add-on:
Time location of playback head (so I can display the current time in the browser extension via HTML5/JavaScript) Frames (so I can make capture them to an image file, save it and display image in browser extension) Original Dimensions in pixels (so I can display the original video dimensions via JS/HTML5 in browser extension)
Is this possible by using Javascript and HTML5 from a browser extension?
Would I have to use something like the SWFObject Javascript API [URL]
I made a flash mp3 player and it works fine in any other test pages. but when i embed it onto my site it just shows blank. what do i do? my site is [URL] and the flash player i tested here [URL] and it plays. What im i doing wrong? i tryed everything. right now i just got it in a iframe but i dont want that iframe.
Looking at the attached file, why does bottomScrollV give me the wrong value when the text is dynamically embedded and correct when manually embedded?
Here's the code: ActionScript Code: var loader:URLLoader = new URLLoader(); loader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onLoad); loader.load( new URLRequest("info.xml") );
I have a virtual directory (Storage Area Network) in 'C' drive as well as in "webroot" folder in Flash Streaming Server. What do I need to do to make RTMP videos work from SAN directory on Flash Streaming Server. It works fine for http. RTMP from vod -> application folder works fine. I have done a lot of research and found out that we can use virtual directories for streaming videos. I am unable to find steps on how to use it..
We (the university I work for) want to add an IP camera to the top of a building (so it has to be IP, we can't put a machine up there, so USB is out of the question) to stream a live view of the quad. The problem is, I can't find a way to stream any IP Cameras through the flash live encoder. I tried a camera by Axis, but their capture driver only supported MJPEG which the live encoder does not.
I have an embedded font in my AIR/AS3 app that lacks support for most internationalcharacters. Using TextField and StyleSheet with the font-family property, I assumed I would simply need to do this:font-family: Interstate-Regular, _sans;This works if TextField.embedFonts = false; but then Interstate-Regular isn't embedded for users that don't have it on their system. With TextField.embedFonts = true; the text doesn't even show up. Is there a way to embed Interstate-Regular and still use _sans as a fallback system font without embedding it as well?
I'm looking for a embedded language that can be used to script common code between a server app written in C# and a client app written in Flash/Actionscript. It is important that the embedded language interpreter run natively in the environment it is embedded into. For example, it cannot load any external C libraries (i.e. python, neko).
Does such a thing exist for these two languages? Perhaps there is some minimal interpreter that could be easily ported to both?
When the mc reaches certain x positions lets say x<-1000 ,another mc (which i placed inside this first mc)starts to play and stops or fades out when reaches to x<-2000 The best example is www.3nokta.net.You will understand what i mean I just need the mclips play or stop depending on the first mc position.
