View 5 RepliesI have 2 Spark List with custom Item Renderers. I'm working on an application that enables users to grag these Item Renders from one List to the other. When one of these IR is dropped in a new position or in another List, I'm updating the dataproviders: remove the object from one list's dataprovider and adding it to other's dataprovider. This si working ok. The problem is that some times the IR is cached and it doesn't show the correct information, based on its data.
How can I force the lists to never cache IRs and all the times I modify the dataprovider, all item renders re-create all IRs (performance won't be an ossue since I have few items on each list)

View 2 RepliesSo to get around Flash security issues, I have a script to upload files to S3 by sending it to a PHP script on my server which then uploads it to S3 with server-side PHP libraries.
Now, I'm looking for a solution to downloading a file from S3 in the same way. I suppose the best way to do it is to somehow make a PHP script that downloads the file from S3, then sends it back to the Flash client?
But the one thing is, I don't want the file to hang around--I'd like to delete it when the process is done. I suppose I can just have the Flash client call another PHP script on the server that deletes the file after the load is finished.

When someone clicks on one of the people they are sent to another PHP page that has their video greeting in a .swf embedded into the page. This works by the php writing the path to the greeting video to the xml file that the .swf loads and plays.
Well in firefox it works perfect, but in IE when they try to click on another greeting the original greeting still plays. Its like the swf is caching the first greeting and refresh of the page does nothing to alleviate this. Is this a problem with the swf caching? or XML caching? or am I totally clueless?

I got a textfile who i am reading on a serverside script and passing it as a script to my client side as3 code. The problem is that i am using characters like ä,ö,ü,ß and this isn't well displayed. I tried System.useCodePage but the compiler complains about : 1120: Access of undefined property 'System'. It doesnt matter if I tried this on the first line of the 'Action' in the first scene or in the first line of the first .as file i am loading. (btw i am only working with .as file and not in the timeline). When i am importing flash.System.* the compiler complains he dont know useCodePage.

View 3 RepliesI am trying to build a client-to-client streaming program - client 1 has a webcam and client 2 will connect to client 1 and be able to view the webcam. Is this possible using 2 swf clients? Can someone point me in the right direction as to what commands would be used to connect the two clients. I have tried: binary sockets Connect() where each clients points to the other and they both time-out NetConnection to try to point each client to one another to establish a connection, but no luck with that either; this seems more oriented towards streaming content to a flash media server rather than to another flash client.

View 0 RepliesWe're writing a flash application that can download a MP3 file, convert it to a Sound object, get the raw data and make some processing (like adding sounds, change octaves). After the processing, we want to send the data back to the server in chunks, so the server will be able to glue the data together and recover the new generated file. The problem is: if we send to the server "wav" pieces of sound, we are able to glue them together without any problem in the generated file. However, if we convert each wav piece to a mp3 file (so we can send a smaller file to the server) and join the mp3 files at the server, the result is a sound with some problems at the merge point.
This is how we load the mp3 file from the server:

I have a main page with a menu that loads into an MC a new MC according to which button is pressed.Now, the loading of the MC works fine but the MC loaded doesn't work because it gets stuck at the loading bar at the beginning of it.
In internet the file doesn't work and gets stuck at the loading bar but when I play the file in flash it works only if I simulate the download so, is it possible to force the downloading of the file also on internet?I put you a bit of [code]...

We have a very large SWF hosted in a website which is just a repository of hundreds of movies/symbols. We load this SWF at the beginning with the Loader class but then the client will access a very few of them at that moment. Is it possible to tell the loader to download symbols only when they're needed? (as with applicationDomain.getDefinition(...)).

My insuffiecient knowledge about AS2 craves some teaching: I want to know how to add an action to a button within my scene to make it download a file, which is located in the same folder as the .fla and exported .swf. In this case its going to be a .pdf, but I guess my main point is that I just want it to download the file. It should work in both Firefox and Internet Explorer (I don't know if the script has to be different or not?).
