Let's say I have a file that loads an AS. Within that AS is an array that loads to a list menu in the main file or .fla. The list menu is used as navigation, so when the user clicks on one of the items, in the list, it goes to, let's say, frame 2.Now, on frame 2 I would like to change the information in the array so that the list menu now contains a new list of links.

I've got a symbol on stage and a button. The button rotates the symbol CCW half a degree. Code: on(release){ mySymbol._rotation -= 0.5;} I wanna add an on (press and hold) action on button so that the symbol will be rotated continuously when the button is on hold.. I can't make this work for over a week now.

Why? How could I make to drag all of them?
I need to create a table and i need to be able to add data and change the data automatically using values computed by other functions. I was trying to use arrays to create the rows of the table but i dont know how to individually name each array. The arrays have to created automatically and so i cannot name each array manually.[code]but the value for the array is undefined.

If user change the value of the TextInput, then click refresh button to retrieve the data model from backend again, the GUI value will not change back. Re-binding not happen, Since the value of data model not changed, no propertyChanged event fired.In this case, I must Programmatically set the model value to the GUI after data refreshing done.I know bi-directional binding can solve this problem(when user change value on GUI, set the new value to data model immediately). But sometimes I cannot use bi-directional binding, for example, the data model is a int, but user input a non-int value, I cannot set the value to data model. So the value in data model do not change, when refresh data, rebinding still not happen.
This will make the data binding useless. How to resolve this?I put pseudo-code here for now, I will put real code later:1. retrieve a data model from server, via blazeds or something else.2. bind the model to a TextInput on GUI.3. user change the TextInput text.4. User click a refresh button, triger retrieve the model value again.5. Now since the model value do not change, no PropertyChanged event fired.6. GUI value still is the user's input, not the value from the model. can clear the model value before set the velue back, make re-binding happen.(but sometimes you do not know how to clean the model value, take int for example, you may do not know the original value and happen set the same value). Or I can manually set the model value to GUI. But both are not good looking.
I have an xml file (externally saved) that is similar to the following:

What I like to do is to get what's in [title] tag using HTTPservice, import it into Flex, and save it as array objects, and do the same thing for [content]. This way I can later refer the array object saying title[0] or content[2].
I have bought Learning AS 3.0 (O'Reilly) but I have been having difficulty getting one of the tutorials to run. The tutorial shows how to record data from a microphone to a byte array, playback the saved data and save as a WAV file. For some reason, I can't get this working. When the swf runs, the Flash Settings screen doesn't pop up to request permission to access the microphone but I can still trace properties such as gain.
I've uploaded a zip containing all the classes and an FLA - just use RecordMicrophone_Example.as file as the document class. Here is the problematic area of the code:

I have No problems inserting data from flash to PHP into MySQL,it's sendind them back properlly.All I'd like to see happen is for one row of data to be inserted into a dynamic text field. here's what i've got if i access this php file, it prints out a vertical list from
a single MySQL row,I was happy.

and Instead of the vertical list (which i would love to see)i get an unparsed data array.
My data grid is displaying stale data, rather than the real time data available in it's data provider (array collection). I've tried refeshing the data in the collection, but that has no effect. Below is my code, does anyone see what could be the problem?

I want to change the value of a variable listed in an array using the array. for example:

var theArray:Array = [theVariable];
now if I try this

theArray[0] = 20;
I just get an array with 1 value of 20 in it and it no longer references theVariable what i want to do is change the value of theVariable with out removing it from the array but referencing it from the array in a loop or something.
I have an array collection of strings and integers (which I have displayed in a data grid) and I am wondering if it is possible to export the array collection into an html table? or even a text file for the user to download

I am manipulating arrays in several ways including, changing the position of elements in the array, adding items to the array and deleteing items from the array.
I am tracing the array after each manipulation to see if the correct values are reported and noticed a weird problem.
When adding to the array (which is triggered by a drag and drop) I get the correct initial value and the correct value after the value is added, in other words I see the new value in the array in the correct position. For example "C042.jpg" is the value added and that is what is traced.
after rebuild and showArray = C001.jpg,C042.jpg,C002.jpg, . . .
However, when I trace the array from another function, the added element no longer appears. So for example if I check the array prior to deleting, I get the following:
prior to delete and show array = C001.jpg,C002.jpg,C003.jpg, . . .
The array has reverted to it's initial state.
