I have a swf with a combo box in it (not created dynamicall). All is when I publish and run the swf by doing ctrl+enter.When I publish and double click the swf to test all is wellHowever when I upload the combox box doesn't allow me to click and get the drop downs to appear. A green glow appears around the component when I click on it - so I think its getting focusI have tried using form.howFind_cmb.enabled=true (which I know is pointing correctly)

I have been working on building a XML menu and I have been able to create the top level menu but I am not sure how to add the sub menu items in a drop down. I have a link to a zip file containing my XML and FLA file. I am using CS4.The top level menu items consist of the following and the sub menu options are listed. In this list, Items 1,2 and 3 are top level menu buttons and item 4 is a sub menu button that would drop down from item 3.

I created a flash movie and installed in a site only to realize the flash movie is appearing on top of my menu drop-downs. I tried setting the move window mode to opague and transparent, neither had any effect.

I have a CSS drop-down menu and just below is a Flash Video (embeded with YouTube code). The Flash video covers my drop down, but only in Safari.
I have played around with the z-index, and I have tried both "opaque" and "transparent" for wmode (which has always fixed this for me in the past).
how to stop the video from covering my drop-downs?

I'm currently making a flash form and it consists of several combo boxes.I placed a combo box on stage and specified the drop down values at the component inspector (for both its data and label). When I test the movie within flash, it works perfectly! however when i load the .swf into the browser, the combo box doesn't work.

I'm looking for an example of having the selection that a user makes for one combo box determine the options the user sees in a 2nd combo box.For example, if combo box 1 is State and combo box 2 is County, then if the user selects Wisconsin for State, combo box 2 will display only the counties that are in Wisconsin.Assume that the values for State and County are coming in from an xml data file.

I have a combo box in my application. I also have a variable called "Status". I want the combo box to be enabled only when the value of the Status variable is 5 or 6. Otherwise, I should not be able to change the value in the combo box. It should have the previous value only.. I had written a click event to disable the combo box. But even though the combo box is disabled, I get the drop down list of the combo box, and If I select some othe value in the drop down,it changes..Only after that it gets disabled.

It might be something simple I'm doing wrong.I have an array populated by XML in a function by doing the following inside the function:

xmlMenuFile.item.descriptions[i],data2: xmlMenuFile.item.hints[i]});
The problem I'm having is trying to figure out a way so that the "data2" will fill the text field "hint_txt" on ROLL_OVER of that items name in the list.I've tried to placing an event listener into the function that populates the combo box .this populates the combo box label and data with the Loaded XML File. This works

I have two combo boxes. The first combo box's data is added through an XMLConnector object, the second combo box, I would like to populate through an on (change) event in the first combo box. The items in the second combo box would relate to the selection made in the first combo box.
I have attempted the following within the Actions for the first combo box:

I want to make a button stay in its down state when it's clicked, and I did it for the MC buttons "Objectivity" and "Publications", but not for MC button "Fotography", that trigger the vertical drop down menu. I also want that the MC buttons "Objectivity and "Publications" make the "vertical drop down menu" reverse for it's original state (hide).P.S. Of course, I want all the MC buttons link to their respective URL's.

This has been bugging me for 2 days! I can't seem to figure out how to get my drop down menu to work. When I roll over my main button the sub buttons tween down into the mask. It looks great but when I move my mouse down to one of the sub buttons of course they slide back up because I rolled off of the main button.I will put my code in here, but keep in mind it is not finished and needs to be cleaned up =)

I am trying to get a drop down menu to work in Flash but cannot get the Actionscript to work. I am a novice at Actionscript so I'm not even sure where to start. Basically, I want the menu to drop down when you hover over it. If I can show me how I should start the script, I can probably figure the rest out. I have four drop down buttons that should come down when you hover or roll over. I can't attach the flash file because it is over the file limit.

I am by no means an actionscript genius. I took a tutorial online to figure out how to do a drop down menu. It is all visually functional but when I click a sub-menu item it wont work. For example, if I click the "company" tab on my website, there are 2 options: "about us" and "contact us". In my time frame we are sitting on frame 200. I am trying to build a website that uses the XML menu in kirupa tutorials. However, I am trying to customise it but I am having problems trying to solve this impossible task! Basically, instead of it being a drop down menu, I am trying to make the menu work on Click instead on RollOver. When the user clicks "on" a link, the link will keep an on state. And when the user clicks on the sub link, that sub link will keep an "on" state.
However, when the user selects a different menu item on the main level, the other "on" states will turn off. So basically I am trying to set up perhaps a variable that remembers which menu item is on and loops through the same level and automacally switches the other items off. Is that confusing? I AM!

I am trying to make an index page with buttons for a photography site.the entire page is built in flash so far. I have created a drop down menu that is a Movieclip with 5 buttons.I can not seem to assign an external web page to each buttons that are under the movie clip drop down menu. Is this a possible? The Movie clip is run by mouse-over the word "studio Gallery" button. This drops down the 5 gallerbuttons (Portrait, children, wedding, Artistic Babies, etc...). In Flash 8 Pro I know I can assign an external web page named children on the main page but how do I assign these to the buttons in the drop down once the movieclip is made. Is this where I need to use folders with extra layers in the folder to make it work?

I ve got a drag and drop code working, but what I really want to do is have a check answers button that tells the user, you have none correct, or two correct or all wrong... I have one target area, and 3 correct answers (out of 7) so I would like to let the user put as many ansers on the target as they want and then check if they have any correct, also a reset code would be nice to put everything back where it started... I tried to break my code up but the events then went mad, Here is what i have so far, it works instantly and lets crrect answers stay and incorrect bounce back..

I have a drag and drop game. You listen to a sound for exampl "bread" You proceed to drag that mc to a box. If it is the right object I want to remove that mc and splice the array so it doesn't choose that object anymore. However I have notices two things.
When I splice(0) a specific element - then nothing works. When I splice the cuurent indexed element ie: the last element to get right - it doesn't actually remove it from the array. I have highlighted the key code parts.

I added a movieclip and named "bot_mc" in another movieclip. Then, In Action panel, I use bot_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.DOWN, xxxx). However, when I drag and drop the container movieclip on the main stage and compile. There is no error occurs but the MouseEvent doesn't work.

I have 12 movieclips on one layer, each are draggable some perform an action some dont. The problem is the levels when they are dragged some are above the other clips on the same layer and some are below. I want the dragged clip to be above all clips. Also on the stage there are text boxes over the "droptarget" they have to be on a layer above to be visible. So therefore the area where the text box is does not allow the dragged item to perform its task, the "droptarget" function does not work.

Greetings. I've been doing this tutorial. [URL] And worked pretty well. In order to adapt to my needs i made it a movie with a drag and drop parameter to be loaded in another movie (with loadMovie or loadMovieNum). The problem is than the movie loads, drags but doesnt drops. Even i tried with the example movie and nothing happens.
