ActionScript 2.0 :: Connect The Dots With Line Attached To Mouse?

May 2, 2009

So, I have a simple connect the dots game working by drawing lines. The line is drawn when clicking the right dot.However I want to be able to let the user be able to see the line and the line moves to any dot but only draws if clicking the right one.

Code:
this.createEmptyMovieClip("line",1);
line.lineStyle(2,0x000000,100);
dot_array = ["d1", "d2", "d3", "d4", "d5", "d6", "d7", "d8", "d9", "d10","d11","d12","d13","d14"];

ActionScript 3.0 :: Can't Seem To Connect The Dots?

Dec 12, 2009

I've been slowly teaching myself AC3 - largely using examples from online tutorials and a collection of books I've bought. I can get simple exercises to work, but I'm losing my way when things get complicated.

For example - packages - I am unclear on how these work and interact with my main programming stream. Now I'm getting to the point where this question seems to be coming up all of the time. But, for some reason, I just can't seem to connect the dots.

ActionScript 1/2 :: MovieClip Control - Drawing Line By Connecting Dots

Oct 7, 2009

I've almost got a bit of flash finished, The .swf so-far is here: [URL]. For some reason the file won't attach but the important bit of code I have so-far is below. I need to make a line to literally 'connect the dots', each of which is one end of a movieclip, I know it needs to boil down to ' line x,y, to (movieclipname)x,y, but cannot work it out!

time.onChanged = function() {
if(time.text.length == 4) {
var hours:Number = parseInt(time.text.substr(0,2),10);
hours *= 60;
var minutes:Number = parseInt(time.text.substr(2,2),10);

Php - Charting Libray That Offers Linked Line Chart With Dots?

Jul 27, 2010

I'm trying to plot data from several entities over time. Each entity will have its own line, so there will be several lines. Each line will be connected, but it's important that dots are drawn to represent data.

I'm aware of the linked bar chart, but at initial inspection, I can't seem to find one that offers me the ability to draw the dots. Anyone knows which library has this? I'm open to PHP, Flex, degrafa, whatever else that gets the job done.

ActionScript 2.0 :: DragOver - Drawing White Line By Erasing Dots

May 19, 2010

I have the raster of dots on white background. I would like it when I DragOver each dot it becomes white so it looks like you are actually drawing white line by erasing the dots. Ive somehow found the way how to do it by making it transparent when I rollover. But it doesnt work with dragover. How to do it only when I hold down the mouse button and drag my mouse over the dots?

This is the script assigned to MC with one black dot (I copied this MC with one dot into another MC and multiplied it to have the raster):
this.onRollOver = function () {
this._alpha = 0;
} this.onPress = function () {
this._alpha = 50;
}

I've tried also this, but it doesn't work:
var erasepoint = false;
this.onMouseDown = function(){erasepoint = true;}
this.onMouseUp = function(){erasepoint = false;}
this.onRollOver = function () {
if(erasepoint){
this._alpha = 0;
}}

ActionScript 2.0 :: Disabling Mouse On Attached Bitmaps?

Mar 5, 2009

I'm trying to make a little clip that has a bitmap attached dynamically to ignore all mouse events... essentially what 'enabled = false' on MovieClip objects does. BitmapData doesn't have this property, so is there a way I can do this any other way?

so right now on my container movieclip, I have this snippet:

Code:
var graphic:BitmapData = BitmapData.loadBitmap('imagegoeshere.jpg');
attachBitmap(graphic, getNextHighestDepth(), 'auto', true);

which makes clicking on the object output a mouse target something along the lines of '_root.placeHolder.instance99', when I want it to completely ignore this clip. I'm assuming 'instance99' is the attached BitmapData itself, thus my request for help here

ActionScript 2.0 :: Straight Line Will Follow Their Mouse Until They Click Again And This Releases The Straight Line?

Jan 30, 2009

I've managed to follow some drawing tutorias which work fine (mouse down draws a line everywhere you move mouse like MS paint).I would like to adapt this now if I can so that when a user clicks down, a straight line will follow their mouse until they click again and this releases the straight line. This should leave one line on the screen, then they are free to move their mouse and repeat the action again.

Actionscript 3 :: Connect To AMFPHP - NetConnection.connect() Returns TypeError: Error #1009

Dec 8, 2011

UPDATE: Now I've moved the AMFConnection var declaration to outside the functions in Main, and commented out some trace() commands, and now it gives new errors:

Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Call.BadVersion
at AMFConnection/init()[/Users/Jan/Downloads/amfphp1/AMFConnection.as:32]
at AMFConnection()[/Users/Jan/Downloads/amfphp1/AMFConnection.as:23]

[code]...

I'm trying to connect to AMFPHP on a server (with Flash AS3), and the swf borks when it reaches the .connect() stage. To make things easier (?) and more reusable (?), I've put all the NetConnection mechanics into a separate class, AMFConnection, which I call from the Main document class like this (details changed):

public function testConnection(e:*=null):void {
var conn:AMFConnection = new AMFConnection();
conn.table = "some_table";

[code]...

AMFConnection actually starts the connection and calls the AMFPHP service with the function gogogo(), and here's where the connect() NetConnection function just won't work. Here's the main section of the AMFConncection class

private var _netConnection:NetConnection;
private var _responder:Responder;
function AMFConnection()

[code]...

It also fails to display the stage, instead showing the loading dots. Now, eventually I'm going to move this application to the same server as the AMFPHP service, but even when I try it there with a relative url, instead of an absolute one, it still breaks down at connect(). I've tried changing the publish settings from local only to network only, to no avail.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Drawing API - Creating Line That Follows Mouse

addChild(clip);
stage.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_MOVE, drawLine);
function drawLine(evt:MouseEvent) {
clip.graphics.moveTo(0,0);
clip.graphics.lineTo(mouseX, mouseY);
clip.graphics.lineStyle(1, 0xff9933);
}

But it's constantly drawing the line due to my mouse_move listener. I only want one line on stage - know what I mean?

IDE :: Dynamic Line Based On Mouse Movement?

Oct 6, 2009

One of my Clients wants a certain type animation on his buttons and he wont budge. here it is. a set of buttons (home - about - products - contact) with a line running parallel to them on top. when you roll over (lets say products) he wants that section of line to bend up and away from mouse. this 'bend' in the line 'unbends' when mouse is completely rolled off the button section but moves along the line if next button is rolled onto. This Isn't all. he says If possible he would like an object (lets say an apple) to move along the down slope of the line bend. however the more i think about this the less it works. so im only worried about the line bend for now. Im still waiting for him to send me an example he saw on another website i will post it as soon as i get.

ActionScript 3.0 :: What Should Happen Is A Blue Line Should Extend From The Box To The Mouse

Mar 15, 2009

[URL] If you look at the file above, you'll see a bunch of boxes. If you hover over the right edge of a box, it will glow green, if you then click and drag from that edge, what should happen is a blue line should extend from the box to the mouse. However, it doesn't. Furthermore, the endpoint of the blue line (which should be the mouse) is somehow related to the numbered box on the right in the middle. If you drag that box around, you'll see the behavior I mentioned above change. Here's the bit of code that draws that line:
