Because of my version of Xcelsius I'm limited to 2 web service connections so I tried using XML Data connection and aspx page to bring data from database to Xcelsius.I have an ASPX page that outputs an xml file with the format

In Xcelsius I made a XML Data connection having the XML URL pointing to the .aspx page that should output an xml. Then I have the Enable Load checked and I have selected the proper # of cells and rows . If I try preview I get
"An error has occurred. For more information, contact the file creator or yoursystem administrator. Error: Error #2032 Connection Type: XML Data".
I have the crossdomain.xml file on both the application folder and IIS wwwroot folder that looks like this:

If I put in the XML URL in Xcelsius, the url to the xml file directly without using .aspx to write it to the output of the page it works. The xml is in the same application folder as .aspx page.My scope is to use the .aspx page to write query on the database and output back an xml with the table in the correct xml format so I can then consume the data in Xcelsius.
I'm trying to communicate my SWF file with PHP using Zend_Amf. I compile the flash side using Flex SDK 4.Whenever I try to run the swf using the stand alone player (the projector), I always get a NetConnection.Call.BadVersion event. However, when running exactly the same file thorught the player of the browser (even not thoguht a server, just using the file:// kind of address), everything works OK, so I know my code is not completely wrong. However, I added the folder where my swf file is to the global trusted folder; and actually made sure that Security.sandboxType returns "localTrusted".
View 1 RepliesIm trying to make connection from flex to java and from java to mysql. I managed to connect to java, but having error that class not found: com.mysql.jdbc.Driver. But i downloaded mysql.jar, included it added to library, and connection works when i testing it from clipse scrapbook. Dont know what to do, i spend last couple days on this.

Basically the solution was simple. Everybody keeps saying to put jar into lib folder, so i done it, but i wasnt realised that i have to put into my servers lib directory, not app lib directory and this miserable mistake cost so much. Anyway i hope this will help for some newbie like me.In this particular situation im using red5, so i putted it into my red5 dist/lib directory and "surprisingly" its started to work.

the hosting account just fine pull up www.domain.com and goes to server.
I added the www.domain.com vhost. I pointed the application dir to /home/domain/public_html/applications/
I copied live over to applications dir. I setup user and pass for the virtual host login.
I have a weird problem,Flash banner is working "clickable" if the page url have preceding "www" and not working if not,So the if the URL in the address bar was [url]... the banner will be clickable and will redirect you to the link embedded in it, if the URL was [url]... the flash banner will not be working.
View 1 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

- selecting the dragger doesnt seem to work (on click function doesnt work)
- cant drag the dragger down.
- thus no scrolling
the fla is 9 mb so i didnt add it. the size is due to local pics whom will be replaced with dynamic content when the scrolling is fixed.[code]
we're having a strange problem on a project here. When we use NetConnection in combination with a NetGroup to initiate communication between two local AIR applications on Windows XP, they always both connect to the NetGroup succesfully and detect each other as neighbors. However, on Windows 7 both applications connect succesfully to the NetConnection and NetGroup both don't detect each other as neighbors.To reproduce this problem, here are two AIR applications:[code]
These applications can connect and send message to each other without a problem on Windows XP. On Windows 7 however, they cannot.Does anyone know why this wouldn't work on Windows 7 and what steps can be taken to make it work? It's critical to our project that this works.In some cases, the applications take quite a long time to detect each other as neighbors (up to 15 seconds in some cases), in other cases they detect each other immediately. Does anyone know what could cause this delay?

View 1 RepliesI have a bizarre situation in IE where JS can't call up into flash using ExternalInterface after I hit "refresh". I know the movie is getting loaded and the code that does the ExternalInterface.addCallback() appears to be completing without any error Here's a rundown of the steps to reproduce:
Open IE and load up the movie for the first time, the ExternalInterface callback methods are available to JavaScript. If I hit refresh, the callback methods aren't available and I get the error Object doesn't support this property or method.If I clear my cache and refresh the page, they are available again.If I then hit refresh again without clearing my cache, they're unavailable.If I close the browser and reopen, they're available again.
I've run into this situation before and I'm pretty sure that the extra delay required to download and instantiate the swf is what's allowing ExternalInterface to get set up properly. The way I worked around this before was to add a random number to the end of the swf's url, so that it's never used from cache, but that's not a real solution.

I have created a website which consists of pages created from flash and dreamweaver (with embedded swf navigation bar at top of webpage)Once the home page is loaded there is a button to visit the page created with DW (with embedded swf nav bar). This works fine if I run the web from my computer locally.But if I write these entire website on a CD and access all the files from CD and then try to open the same html page from the same button in IE9; it does not work. It just keep showing the progress nothing happens. Interestingly, everything works fine on google chrome browser from the CD and also works fine from the other computer with Xp and IE8. But does not work on Windows 7 with IE9 from a CD specifically.
I have also tried to use the option in DW (called "Convert active content") for that page.which added that .js file and script on the html code. even after that does not work.I have also turned on the option "run active content from the cd" internet option for IE9 and "activex filtering" is also off on the security tab of tools of IE9.

View 2 RepliesI just step into the task of printing jobs in as3. All I have to do is to print the text in a dynamic text field which is in a movieclip. The text filed has a scroll bar to show the rest of the content. I am using the following lines of code to print the page.

It works great when I am on the home page, but stops working once I navigate to any of the other pages. I have an Actions layer and that layer extends the full length of all pages/frames of the timeline.
I have the frames labeled as such: home, services, about, and contact. (All are "Type:Name")

I need to embed a SWF on a website. The swf is this interactive map at [URL](where it says select your region). So I found the SWF file and I tried to embed it on a test page, and its not working correctly. [URL] I don't know anything about flash, but the code I used was this:

On clicking the button I am calling a method, so far everything is working fine. But some how tabenabling is not working. suppose if you are in login inputbox and i press "tab key" it has to go to password input box.. but its not working. I have tried all the attempts using tabEnabled = "true". But still I am failing to do this.
View 2 RepliesI have designed a "Before-and-After" slideshow using Alpha tweens to slowly fade one image into another. The effect works great, however, it seems that the effect only works on the first time the user enters that page. If the user clicks the "play again" button, I reload the .swf and want the effect the play again, but it just moves from the first to second image, without the alpha effect transition.Is there some way to "reset" the .swf to replay the alpha tween effect? why it would have this behavior? The site and effect are purely actionscript, so I cannot do something like "goToAndPlay(1)" in the last frame, the entire site is only in the first frame.

Default.fla is loading portfolio.fla inside a movie clip loader. and the portfolio.fla has a navigation system for different portfolio pieces. I have set up the first one to work (dasa design). so, I need the outro to play of hm1.fla (first file loaded) and then play the intro of the Dasadesign file. I know this has something to do with the depth and so, but I have tried many ways but not succeeded. files are found here! [URL]

I have a home page and five other pages. The five pages have a main menu at the top containing buttons that allow you to go to the other pages:

I have an actions layer. Each section has the following action in the first frame: stop(); When I view the website the home page works correctly. However, any page with the main menu automatically switches to the next page after about six seconds. The code seems pretty straightforward so I have no idea what I'm missing.
