Problem is the actual reference to the button itself. When I run a trace on item_mc it reveals that the buttons are named main_btn0 thru to main_btn4 as expected. Problem is that when I use the reference main_btn0 and so on nothing happens. However if I use a reference to just main_btn the buttons work but action is not assigned to any particular button?? Why???
var track_xml = new XML(); track_xml.ignoreWhite = true; track_xml.onLoad = function(success){ if (success) CreateMenu(this); else trace("Error loading XML file"); [Code] .....
I am using the following code to mute sound in a flash file - basically turning the volume to 0 or 1.It works fine until I go to a different scene. Once I load a new scene the button no longer works.
I have a button action not working to control another movie clip timeline. The movie clip timeline I want to control has an instance name but for some reason it's not playing. The button is on a different movie clip timeline. Both movie clips are on Scene 1. I think there is something wrong with my target path?
Once I get logged in on my login control, I would like to change the selected index of my ViewStack. From my outside controls, I cannot reference my ViewStack by name. I can reference a public static function from an outside control however I cannot refer to the ViewStack from within that function.
If I wanted to change an action from a button click to a frame-based action, what do I use instead of onPress? The hints from the AS editor are all click-based.
I have a slideshow that is looped ... it contains 5 slides.I am using a gotoandPlay action to control the slide show.
on (release) { this._parent.gotoAndPlay("98"); }
There is a fade transition between slides.When a button is released ... I want to gotoandPlay (frame 98) ... and then have it stop 10 frames later on (frame 108). Frame 98 includes the transition ... if I just gotoandStop on frame 108 ... I loose the transition.Is there any way to incorporate a stop action, after a gotoandPlay action on my button ... without naming instances etc.I.E.
on (release) { this._parent.gotoAndPlay("98"); STOP ON FRAME 108 INTEGRATED HERE }
I just want to make a simple button action using actionscript 2 but I can't get it to work! I'm sorry for even asking but I've been at this for too long now for it to not work I'm using Adobe Flash CS4 and I do the following --
File -> New Flash File (ActionScript 2.0) Insert -> New Symbol Name - test Type - button Export for ActionScript Identifier - test
And then draw it in using the keyframes and add the code to 'Actions - Button' for my button
Code: on(release) { trace("trace"); }
I click on the button and it animates but no action event in the trace?
I am using this method to create a slider to control frames in a movie clip.
[Code]...
The slider works well when I'm in the scene that contains the slider. When I go to a scene that does not include the slider, I get the following output error. TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference. How can I stop the stage.add.EventListener when I navigate to other scenes that don't include the slider. This is my first as3 project. The project functions as it should but I don't know if the output error will cause problems later.
How can I get an action to follow another action when a button is clicked? When a button is clicked, I want the timeline to go to a certain frame and play and when it's done playing, to go to another frame and play. I basically want two actions in one function.
I'm having this frustrating error showing up and I have no idea why. Let me show you my classes and see if you can spot anything wrong. First, here's my ILode interface:
So the problem I'm having is the compiler is throwing that 1000: Ambiguous reference error for any reference to instance.priority or instance.label. Why??? Instance is typed to IFlexLodeInstance, and IFlexLodeInstance lists method signatures of priority and label getters, and it inherits ILode, which lists method signatures for priority and label setters. What can I do to get the compiler to stop complaining?
My code is an external .as file. Google provides this code on their demo, which contains the this keyword:
[Code]...
Notice that I have 4 calls to console.log. The first 3 fire, but after the new GATracker statement, the 4th does not fire. I have a feeling that I'm overriding the entire package with the object created from new GATracker when I should be passing a different context. I believe the correct context I should pass is whatever this defaults to when not inside of a package/external file, I assume it references the main stage object.
I couldn't come up with a good title for this question but basically the problem is this - I've got a series of thumbnails and clicking on a thumbnail loads a larger picture into a holder movieclip on the main stage. However, if you click another thumbnail while the first picture is still loading, then both pictures load and it goes on from there. How can I make my code so that clicking a new thumbnail cancels any actions from previous clicks?
I am trying to manipulate (move up and down, enable/disable and launch a form) child controls inside a panel control. However I am unable to get the id of the child control on which the click event occurs. To illustrate, I am trying to create similar functionality as is available. I am trying to create the up-down buttons that you see in the image at http:[url].......
im trying to make a music/sound control and FX sounds control,so i have my FX volume level as a variable(FX_vol) and also the Music/sound volume level as a diffrent variable(M_vol),so i set them as sounds that i can use trough coding:
when publish the iphone os ,if the the *.actionscript file should be added in the contain files? and if the action "touch" in iphone os is the "click" action?
Is it possible to control a Flash movie from JS when you have no control over the source? I have decompiled the movie to see its inner workings, but I know nothing about Flash, so I'm mostly in the dark. I found this resource, Interaction with JavaScript, but it's not working for me (probably because I don't know what message to send to the movie).
I have a flex application and have embedded a flash (SWF) file into it using <mx:SWFLoader>. There is an "Exit" button on the Flash file. I want to be able to handle the button click event on the flex application.
So when that button in the flash file is clicked, I want to perform an action in the parent flex application.
I am new to Flash and I can find out how to make something happen when a selection is made in a combo box. All I want to do is go to the next frame when a selection is made, but I can't use on(release), because I keep getting "this is not a button" errors.
I'm very new to flash and working with action script 2.0, and I need to know if it is possible for a button to have more than one action. More specifically a first and second action. I want (when button is pressed) to zoom into my stage and then change to scene 2. This doesn't seem difficult to do but I don't know the code in which to do it.
I have (4) buttons with a play action that all play the same series of frames labeled:"1out"(19 frames long), when they get to the (19th) frame the action at that frame tells it to goto frame label "begin". I want only one of those buttions to have a different action when it gets to frame 19, instead of going to frame label"begin" I want it to goto frame label "2in" I thought I set up the code right for the single button, and frame 19 but it wont work,
I have a question that has always plagued me with my AS programing. Is there a simple way to make an action happen the first time the SWF is loaded, but not any additional times that frame is come to? I know this is a VERY basic question, but I have always stumbled with this issue. I can create counters and have the script run when a X is < 1 or and add 1 to X every time the fame enters, but that seems like a very cumbersome way of fixing the problem. Is there a better way of doing this?
