I have been at this for about 19 hours straight! I am going to go to bed immediately after this post, but for crying out loud, I have NEVER had this problem before today! Before anyone reads ahead and says 'you have to attach your sound object to a completely separate mc to be able to control it independently from all other sound/root volumes.' see if the following code accomplishes just that:
We need to call different instances of youTube Video into our own swf and play them.
Now as youTube video is from a different domain, the Flash sandbox restrictions naturally come into play. We am loading the youTube swf into a clip using the MovieClipLoader Class.
If we remove the instance using the removeMovieClip() command the video is removed but the sound continues. We have even tried the MovieClipLoader unloadClip() method but that too did not yield results.
We wish to be able to kill the sound object or atleast mute it so that it does not play even after the movie clip containing the video is removed.
As the swf belongs to a different domain we are unable to control the sound object directly through script.
We have even tried loading another youTube instance into the same movie clip after first removing it using the removeMovieClip() command, then creating it again, and finally loading the youTube instance using the MovieClipLoader class, but the earlier sound still continues to play even while the second clip sound also plays.
What I am trying to do is capture the name of the button which is clicked and add "hl" to it, which is the name of another movieclip already on stage. This part works. Then with that modified name I want to set the visibility of the second movieclip, ie "popUp0hl", to true. This is not working. None of these MCs are created dynamically by the way.
var highLight:String = evt.currentTarget.name + "hl"; //This traces out fine this[highLight].visible = true;//Here is the problem area
I've got a presentation that features an audio loop for background music and streaming audio on the timeline for the voice over.When I try to lower the volume of the background music (sound object), it also effects the voice over (streaming).I'm a total novice, so try to use laymen's terms.[code]And this is on the Frame that contains the movieclip with the voice over.I'm trying to fade the background music ONLY:[code]
I found an earlier post with the following solution for mouseover visibility control. ActionScript Code: instancename.onRollOver = function() { this._alpha = 0; } instancename.onRollOut = function() { this._alpha = 100; } What changes would I make to use the space bar as a toggle for visibility? Or would I need something completely different?
i have a movieclip called allBUTTONS which contains 18 buttons. This movieclip will be called numerous time on the CDROM I am creating, and each time the number of buttons visible will change. So instead of writing the following code numerous times for however many buttons i want visible:
I have 3 text fields that display weather conditions from the Weather.com XML web service. The 3 text fields need to be visible only during a certain segment of the Flash Video that is set as the application's background. Do I use AS3 to specify visiblity? If so, how do I reference a certain range of frames in which the fields should be visible?
I have created a timeline with visibility button against each column. The timeline.swf is loaded into two empty movieclips to create a two-screen operation. Everything works fine except, I cannot for the life of me get the visibility button on the first swf to affect the visibility for the column on the second swf.
I'm having trouble testing for an object's visibility on the stage without using an event listener. I know this is pretty basic, but I can't seem to find anything online and none of my flash friends are around eitherowing code, what is it that I need to do to activate the function? I thought you could write a function without having an event listener.
function test (e:Event) { if (square_mc.visible==true) { trace("square is visible");
I had created a TextField o stage. When a button is clicked, I need to display this textfield for a limited time period(say, 3 to 5 seconds) and then after 5 seconds, I want it to be invisible.
im trying to make a music/sound control and FX sounds control,so i have my FX volume level as a variable(FX_vol) and also the Music/sound volume level as a diffrent variable(M_vol),so i set them as sounds that i can use trough coding:
How to import sound with AS? Cuz i have tried it and my sound just wount play. Can you explain me where my sound should be and what is the as code for importing cuz i use
mysound = new Sound(); mysound.attachSound("SoundOn"); mysound.start();
and this SoundON from where i get it, i try to add linkage to the sound file but in CS4 i cant find the option;. I do it from the library, adding text into the linkage field but still my sound doesn't want to play?
Here, my loader instance name is: myLoader. When I click on the dynamically loaded image, I need to place a small red rectangle at that particular pixel position on the image.For creating a small rectangle, I am using following code:
I am trying to embed some sound controls, and have hit a dead end. I made my play and stop buttons, imported my mp3,, assigned it proper linkage, and inserted this AS2 :
[Code]...
The buttons are named "play_btn" and "stop_btn" respectively. When I export it or preview it, hitting the play button does not do anything.... I hear no sound. What could be up with this?
I am using the following to extract the byte info from a sound object - however if I go back to the same sound object and run this again, The byteArray has no bytes available.
var data:ByteArray = new ByteArray; sound.extract(data,sound.length*44.1); data.position = 0; return data;
Is this the correct behavior? Is there not a way to do this multiple times on the same sound object?
Is it possible to take two Sound objects and combine them into one Sound object so that one Sound plays, and then the second plays right after it? I can just play the first Sound and then the next right after it, but it would be much cleaner to combine them before playing the audio.
I have a streaming sound that is loaded into my flash movie (will end up on CD) that is very distorted, it sounds like someone is slowing down the audio, the voice sounds deep and slow
I have an application with a collection of sounds in the timeline. One sound file is recorded at a slightly lower volume than the others. I know I could change this in Audacity but I'm wondering whether I could attach a line of actionscript to its button to raise its volume slightly.I know its possible to do this when playing sounds with actionscript directly from the library, but that would be too big a departure from the development style used.
If I have library song playing using a simple code like: var mySong:Song = new Song();mySong.play(); How do I use a button to control its volume so that each time it is clicked the volume goes up or down by a little.
After browsing the documentation for the sound classes, it seems there is no way to control sound pitch with Actionscript 3.0. there is only the ability to control volume and pan. why is there no pitch property? it's the only sound property missing for the ability to create a full featured sound engine in Actionscript?
i hope i'm misinformed, but in case i'm not are there any alternatives / workarounds to control pitch in AS3?
My english is not too stron, but i'll try to explain my problem...I've got 2 swf's, first is main, second is loaded to he first(flv player) throught the command "loadMovie("player.swf", myPlayer)".In the second swf there are such code:
I'm having issues with controlling multiple sound volumes in flash. What I need to have happen is a Background music softly playing while a voice over is also playing.
This is what i have in the first frame of my main timeline
Code: firstSound = new Sound(BGMusic_mc); firstSound.attachSound("LatinRockMusic"); firstSound.setVolume(10);
[Code]...
but when it starts to play the voice sound the volume jumps up to 100. I need the first sound to stay at 10 and the voice sound to be at 100.
