View 1 Repliesi have a big assignment to schedule in the end of the month/ i've made a game which made of pictures and videos (flv), and when i've inserted the third flv movie i tried to test my project. and when i have exported it, it reaches the end and just doing nothing: no errors, no file, just nothing. my project is on 1920X1080 resolution, i have 23 videos of 10 seconds each, that i need to insert, and the quality is 1500 bits.the first two inserted movies succeeded, but from the third and above, nothing happend.

Here is what I'm looking to achieve:
A visitor enters a workout time (example: 1pm) and checks off the days that they work out. From there, it generates a schedule for the week that lists the eating times for each day. For example, if they exercise mon/wed/fri at 1pm it will look like the follwing:

View 2 RepliesThinking about developing a "class schedule app" that has a backend user interface that a user can add/edit/delete dates and times, savs and the data shows in a cool graph on a webpage. I was thinking of using authiticated php page to update an xml file or database that could be read by a flash app to create a dynamic graphic. Think a 800 x 500 square with the 7 days set as rows ontop of each other and the times for each day listed horizontally.The times set in xml/database would be color coded boxes with rounded corners that lay over the times for those days.**I am not looking for anyone to tell me how to do this. I was hoping to get ideas or thoughts from other developers on my options as far as languages to dev in. I have done a few searches and found a lot of javascript calendars to select dates but I am less concerned about the backend looking good.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to make this calendar thing where you can write your schedule in it and it will save it. The part I'm kind of stuck at (and I figure I should sort this part out before getting much further) is that I need it to identify which day it is you're clicking on.
I'm thinking if I can get flash to write a txt file (like with xml or something) that says what box your clicking on, then I can get it to display that txt file in the dynamic text that says "Day" over your schedule. Then anytime you enter something into the schedule it will name it after that dynamic text and the time. Eventually I'll have to have a "back" button that will take you back to the main calendar. I'm thinking I can make this button delete the txt file that said which day you clicked on so that there's no confusion....Or I could make it that when you click on a day it will delete any pre-existing txt files that say which day you clicked on. (Not your actual schedule txt files.)
And then of course I'll have to make it so that any time you click on a day and get the dynamic text "Day" it will display all the text associated with that day. So does anyone know how I would do this? I need to know what actionscript I can use that will export a txt file depending on what square/day you click on. And I also need to know what actionscript will delete the txt file when I need it. (Wow, I hope the paragraphs above make sense!) I've included my flash file.
I need to load in a schedule of events (xml).These events are precisely timed (down to a tenth of a second).The events (like, attach movie to main screen) need to last for a very precise amount of time (again, within a tenth of a second).So, it would run like so:Schedule gets loaded that says:
* "show banana for 15.5 seconds @ 2 min and 32 seconds after the movie started, then remove the banana."
* "show apple for 12 seconds @ 4 min and 12 seconds after the movie started, then remove the apple."
and so on... like 100 of them.So, what's the best way to handle this? It seems like I'll certainly have to use "setInterval" in there somewhere - but I'm looking for the cleanest and most accurate way to do this.To complicate things further - my scene is rather computationally intensive (even on the f8 player) and timing accuracy seems to be a weak spot for flash in this kind of situation.
I'm making this game with complex visual effects (some rendered lighting using bitmaps), so it takes about 1 second or so generating a level with 3 big lights, so it may take a little more using more lights. The map is built when the player clicks to play the level. The thing is I can't show him the game is busy processing the level elements, because the graphic elements won't refresh until the start level function returns, which would make some sort of info sign while the map is loading useless. How would I make it so this information is visible right after I click Start level and disappear as soon as the level is built? I'm assuming the event handler from clicking Start level has to return before the level starts loading, but how can I schedule the game for loading?

I'm just getitng started learning Flash CS4(fully updated). I was going through the Flash Downunder tutorials, and creating an interactive player with slider bars to change the 3D X and Y rotation.[code]I get no compile errors (using ActionScript 3.0, BTW) But when testing out the video with Flash PLayer 10 In the publishing settings, the video shows up blank. I thought it may be an issue with windows, but when trying the SWF on a WinXP machine, the same issue occurs.I tried using Flash player 9 in publish settings, and the video plays, but I need to use player 10 to use 3d rotation settings.I'm not sure if this is just a bug with Player 10, or if I'm doing something wrong.
View 11 RepliesI recently hired a programmer to design a flash health calculator for my website. It works great and text shows up correctly when viewing online and standalone. The problem starts when I try to edit the file. I wanted to change some text in an action layer. That seems to work out fine but when I try to publish I get garbled text.
I should also mention that when loading the file I get a Font Mapping dialog box stating "The document 'x' contains one or more fonts not available on your system. The text will display and publish with the font mapping below:". I have tried to select various fonts in this dialog box but still get garbled text.
When I publish I also get this on the Output box: "Fonts should be embedded for any text that may be edited at runtime, other than text with the "Use Device Fonts" setting. Use the Text > Font Embedding command to embed fonts."

View 0 RepliesWhile publishing my movies in CS4, I noticed that the javascript required to embed the movie in a web page was published as inline javascript in the published page. This means that code would be downloaded for each page my movie is on. Is it possible to configure Flash CS4 to publish that javascript to a separate .js file, instead of having to manually copy-paste that each time??
If no, I believe that js is independent of the Flash movie (please correct me, if I am wrong). So, can I copy-paste that javascript to an external file just once, and use the js file for all my movies being published??

Unfortunately, my receiving end only supports AAC audio. Is there a way to publish AAC audio with Flash?
Note : I tried the mp4:mic_user1, but it does not work. The stream negociation seems ok, but the received audio is garbage
Ive made a movie that add strings from several input text fields to an array. This array is sent from the flash video to php. This is working fine when I preview the movie as Flash. The php script prints the variables as intended.
But when I preview it as html the arrays are all empty...

I've just about got my first site finished, but am having a few issues with publishing it, firstly, I can't get any browser to load it with a scroll bar - if it goes beyond the dimensions of the page the viewer is unable to see anything which is cropped.Secondly the alignment is fine in firefox, but totally off in safari and internet explorer.And lastly (and its a biggy) I can't work out which files and which order of files to upload to my server in order to get the damn thing live!
View 2 RepliesI recently got Flash CS5 and began working with it on some things. One thing I was making was a simple animation that I was going to publish as an animated GIF. However, upon completing my animation, I've been unable to publish it as one. I can get it to publish as a GIF, yes, but it only shows the first frame.
My Publish Settings for GIFs in Flash CS5 are as such:
Playback: Animated, Loop Continuously
Options: Optimize Colors checked
Transparent: Opaque
Dither: None
Palette Type: Web 216
Are there any other settings I may be missing to ensure I can publish as an animated GIF?

View 5 RepliesThis question is a mutual question of as3 and fms, In my flv file, I have 500 hundred small size (20 seconds timewise - 0.80 mb byte wise) videos in the library. In a test , randomly 6 of tese viedos come to the screen and since it is a test if you choose the correct video, the next question comes (another 6 videos randomly come and so on....) I have 2 questions here
1. My swf is working fine with 20 videos (flv playback ) in the library, but when I fill the library with 500 of them, is there a possible size problem because of libraray capacity ( I think the stage is not a problme because only 6 videos are available on the stage each time)
2.If I publish this swf in the net and use an fms server to make possible anybody can use the swf and videos at the same time, what capacity shall I choose as - ??? how many people at the same time. There are options like 100 people -300- 500 people at the same time. But in brief in my library I have500 videos and randomly 6 on the stage.
I have overlaid Air 3.0 over the flex sdk. I have targeted swf version 13 and included 3.0 in the header of my xml file, is there anything else i need to do to get my app published with air 3.0.
Also is there a way to check what version of air the app has been published with once it has been published?

I'm new to flash mx 2004 and I'm having a problem publishing and playing my finished project. Every time I try to play or publish the project I get a 'The Flash program is out of memory. Please increase virtual memory on your PC' message. I was originally working on a 1 gig RAM PC and thought this was the problem. I've since borrowed a 2 GIG RAM PC which allowed me to do a little bit more work before I got the same problem. I then got a 4 GIG PC and was able to finish the project but if I try to play it or publish it the program crashes. Any Ideas. This is a college project which I need to publish as a windows exe file and I can't do it. I don't know what's wrong. The project is about 280 meg in size. I tried to 'save and compact' but it still crashes. I also tried to debug the flash project and it crashed again. I'm baffled as I think a 4 GIG PC should be ample and I no longer think that this is entirely a RAM problem anyway.

View 1 RepliesWe recently upgraded our network to Leopard and Flash to CS3,and since then, I can't publish to a network drive.The reason I need to do this is that we're on a network where all our project files are on the server, and we work directly from the server. With previous versions of Flash and the system, I was able to work on a Flash file on the server and publish or test to the same place. Now I need to copy my flash file to my local
computer in order to publish or test.If I try, I get this error: "Error creating Flash movie file.Be sure the destination file is not locked or on a locked drive.Also, check that the file name is not too long." Neither of those are the case.
