ActionScript 2.0 :: DuplicateMovieClip - When The Number Of MC Fill The Component Area... Appear A Scrollablebar?
May 11, 2005
I have a component(ScrollPane) that content a movieClip. What I want is... which time that I hit a button (OK) the movieClip (with text fields) send the information to the XML file or MySQL and duplicate the movieClip above, and when the number of MC fill the component area... appear a scrollablebar.
I've seen that it's possible to format a specific bit of text in a text field with:setTextFormat(format:TextFormat, beginIndex:int = -1, endIndex:int = -1):void
I need to format a section of text by applying a texture to the rectangular fill space around the letters. (Imagine in Microsoft Word that you've written a short sentence and you highlight it. Then you fill the text background with a colour. Then imagine that that colour is a single repeating texture. That's what I'm trying to achieve.) Note that the text field must be multiline, and I'm not looking to fill the whole rectangular text field area. The applied texture needs to fit to each character. Is this possible in Actionscript? Would I need to use some kind of HTML or CSS formatting? Is it possible at all? If it is possible, is it possible to change the size of the fill area around the text?
Right now I just have a single color as its background via textarea.setStyle("backgroundColor", "0xe3ecca") However, is it possible to say, create a gradient (the only way I know how to do so is with the beginGradientFill that you use while using the drawing API) as a variable and then apply that as the background to the TextArea component somehow?
Im trying to create a layout in flex using mxml, the layout contains a Canvas component and a Box. The layout should always be such that the Box sits at the bottom edge of the application and has a fixed height, whereas the Canvas fills the remaining stage area and does not overlap with the Box. My MXML is as follows;
This is for mx 2004. How to load variables from an external txt file at the beginning of flash movie...At various keyframes in the scene the movie shows different forms for user to fill in into the TextInput components. As soon as these forms are shown, the TextInput components are pre-filled with default text (the variable values that were loaded, for example "Enter your title here"). I know how to do this in earlier versions easily with the Var variable but now I'm stuck. I've been trying to do something but I keep getting "undefined" in the TextInput.
I need to display a number of images within a scrollig area. I thought the easiest way of doing this was to put them inside a MovieClip and then have this MovieClip as the source of a ScrollPane.This works fine if I only use the mouse - I can select the different images and react to them.However I need to have this accessible so I need to have it tab enabled but for the life of me I can't get it working. From the documentation it should immediately tab into the first image.The closest I have gotten is to press return when I get to the scrollpane and move the focus to the first item in the scrollpane.However when I check what has focus it still says the Scrollpane so I don't think I will know when to move the scroll bar to be able to see the currently active image.
public function Test() { addChild(_scrollPane); _scrollPane.tabChildren = true; _scrollPane.width = 200; _scrollPane.focusRect = true; _scrollPane.height = 200; fm = new FocusManager(_scrollPane); _scrollPane.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, onkey);[code].....
I need to have a Text Area With Line Numbers, & once the Text File is Imported to the Text Area.. the user must be able to select the line numbers & see the filtered output.
I have implemented the same with Numeric steppers. I am in search of an enhanced component.
are there better Advanced Components for Textarea ? Any Advanced Textarea component with built-in Search/Replace/Filter Capabilities ?
I'm trying to make selectable thumbnail images for a touch screen app where the user can touch the thumbnail image and turn a CheckBox on or off to select/deselect it.
The thumbnail images measure 100x100 pixels, and I want the CheckBox to be in the upper right hand corner of each image. When I go to the Adobe AS3 help site, it says that it should be possible to increase the size of the CheckBox hit area in one of two ways:
1) Select the component on the Stage and use the Free Transform Tool or any of the Modify > Transform commands. 2) Use the setSize() method or applicable properties of the CheckBox class.
According to this same site, if you increase the size of the instance, you also increase the size of the hit area.
I've tried both of these, and none expand the hit area over the entire thumbnail. In fact, neither seems to increase the size of the hit area at all. In order to select a particular thumbnail, the user still has to hit the CheckBox.
I want to implement paging in a spark text area. For that I want to find out the number of lines a spark textArea can hold before the scrollbars appear and just feed that much lines to the text area.
i have an mc on stage and im creating some buttons into this holder. the button is just a white square with a text field for a number above it. If i remove the number I get the hand pointer, but if I dont whenever you roll over the number area you lose the hand pointer. i
I am trying to define the content area of a custom component that extends mx:VBox. The component has predefined headers and footers (visual children) and I want to set the area in the middle for adding children to the component. The component will be used like this:
I am trying to determine the global coordinates of the visible rectangle that is currently rendered on the stage.
Specifically, if a canvas has an explicit height and width and is a child of a panel that has a scrollbar, the scrollbar can "hide" a part of the canvas. ContentToGlobal(x,y) provides the global position of the content at the time, but content coordinates can scroll off the boundaries of the parent panel and continue to give x,y coordinates that are not visible.
Is there a way to determine the viewable rectangle that is not hidden by anything?
Beginner Question: I am using the IFrame Component for Flex in Flex 4. The code below works when it is put at the top of the scrolling area. However, if I put it where it below the viewable area it will not render. I am a complete beginner to Flex. The interesting thing is when I resize the window while the HBox is in view, the Iframe will load. But scrolling to it will not. Below is my code. I have made sure everything is visible=true but it seems like I need to add a listener or somehow trick it to think that the window has been resized to get it to render. Anyone with an idea how to fix this?
I have an application whose dimensions are larger than the user's screen resolution. Typically, when adding a popup I would call popupManager. addPopup() followed by popupManager.centerPopup(), but this could cause the popup to be added outside of the user's visible area on screen.Is there a way to add a popup in the middle of the user's current viewable area instead?[code]
- I have two textArea components on the stage - I need to figure out what textArea component is in focus when clicking on it
How do i make it so that it can figure out the instance name of the text area component in focus so i can preforme some code? I tried the following code but it doesn't seem to work.
I put a text area component on stage and set the vertical scrolling to Auto, so now when ever I have to much text the scroll bar pops up, but the problem is that I can't get the scroll bar to always be on the bottom, so when ever I add more text I always have to use my mouse and drag the scroll bar to view the latest info, is there a way that I can see the latest update without having to manually scroll down?
Things go weird when i tried position a button in titleContent of ActionBar. Set both the "left" and "horizontalCenter" can't move my button.Code as below:
I am new to flash, trying to do some animation character. I have 2 queries
1. What is lock fill; whenever I am trying to fill a color, it shows lock fill....
2. If I am creating a non regular figure like say with pencil, if I draw some part of it & do other part by later; these will be assumed different objects & I am not able to fill the whole figure with a selected color.
I have a TextInput component on my stage with instance name 'enteredNumber. And button with instance name 'guessBtn'. After enter some number to my TextInput i want get this number, but can not cause its a text maybe? How i can do it?
var numberToGuess:int=5; guessBtn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, checkAnswer); function checkAnswer(event:MouseEvent):void {
I have the following code that loads items from an .xml file:
function ParseList(newXML:XML):void{ var pageList:XMLList = newXML.ITEM.@term; for each (var listItem:XML in pageList) { my_lst.addItem({label:listItem, data:listItem}); }
I'm trying to add the line number of the list item BEFORE the <label> in the displayed list.
I have a scratch card. Basically I'm masking a movie clip with an empty shape. I can draw on that mask and thus my movieclip will become visible. I have also attached the fla.
Now what I would like to achieve is that when you fill a percentage of that mask, let's say 70%, I automatically fill the whole layer so that all of my movieclip becomes visible (as mask is fully filled).
I wonder if anyone on here has any experience of the above component [URL]. It produces 'turning page' books from jpegs and I'm having problems with one aspect of it. I've created a 'GO TO' button where the user can enter the page number that he or she wishes to visit. It all works beautifully, with one problem. The FlippingBook component is set to start at page '0'. This means that if the user enters '5' in the GO TO page box and clicks 'GO', he or she will be taken to page number 6, rather than 5, because what we are calling page 1, the component calls page 0.
I need to try and find a way around this, as if we're working on existing brochures with contents lists and index numbers, it is not feasible to just change all the page numbers. I would think that I need some code to tell the component to add a page to the number each time, but I'm not clear what the code should be or where it might be added.
I have populated a List component with data from an XML file. I simply want the index of the line clicked returned so I can gotoAndStop to that Frame number. I have found the 'selectedItem' property but I don't want the text, I want the number of the line.
I have a list component that lists certain items..
so, if i click on a certain item..i should get the index this way : var clickedIndex:int = listID.selectedIndex; but how can i count the number of times the variable clickedIndex has been selected? so, if a user keeps clicking on the index[0], i want to know how many
I am trying to display an HTML formated file in the text Area.It should be straightforward task using the following code:
//----------load text file------------------ var loader1:URLLoader =new URLLoader();loader1.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE,displayText);[code].....
This uses a text area component dragged to stage and named myCV_TA. No text is displayed with that code.It does work when an ordinary text is used and myCV_TA.html/text is changed to myCV_TA.text.Tried many things and decided to live with the simple text file and apply some formating to it://----create textformat object
var mytextformat:TextFormat = new TextFormat();mytextformat.font = "verdana";mytextformat.size = 16;mytextformat.color = 0x006600;[code]....
This code does not apply any formating, the simple text file is displayed but without any formating .
i have a drop down menu am working on and each button tab (although they are not button instances !) when clicked opens up the "drop down" section which you can mouse over to choose another specific button etc - if you mouse out of that drop down area then it pulls back up to the original tab state .. what do i change to the code below to decrease the area that you mouse out of to make the drop down area pull back .....at the moment it at least two inches on the screen below and to the right of boundaries of the drop down box before it pulls up - i want to it pull up as the mouse leaves the boundary box .... hope this makes sense .... there is some part of the actionscipt below that controls this but can work out which bit and how to change it !!! (am guessing the x mouse and y mouse bits - but how to change it ???)
public static function cloneDpObj(target:DisplayObject):Bitmap { var duplicate:Bitmap;
[code]....
to clone target displayObject (MovieClip or Sprite) and return Bitmap Object.
It can get bitmap from the target object, but it seem don't get all the area of the image.
By give the width and height of target object, but the target object in design was applied by Glow Effect, so my question can we get the all view of bitmapdata from a displayobject?
I have a movie clip named circle_mc(see the image on the link below) and a mask object(movie clip) which determines visible area of the circle. User can change the portion which is visible (extend the red area and make it red+blue, gray area is invisible). I need to find proportion of visible area to invisible area (red+blue/gray) so that I can calculate angle.
