I have created a flash file named "test.swf" and this file will call the "getdata.asp" file to retrieve the data from the database. There are multiple rows of returned data.
How do I make the hyperlink to each of the <button> so that whenever a <button> is clicked, the "http://localhost/getdetail.asp?code=<key>" will be called, whereby <key> is the code associated to each of the row.This is the code in my Flash file.

I want to make a flash movie which will load image and its hyperlink dynamically from external source. I know this is very common over the internet and as per some of the tutor I've done loading the image part but not able to sort out how to hyperlink that Below is the code

The text file "anastasio.txt" just have this line "image=photo.jpg". "holder_mc" is a blank movie clip. The image is loading properly but I dont know how to hyperlink that!! Can any one let me know how to do that dynamically.
Also, this is a very simple way of loading the image from text file but in real this will come from DB. The Admin will insert the image name and the url in DB and uploads the image to a specific folder from where the flash will load that image. I'm thinking what could be a better way from below to do the above stated task:
1) On insertion into DB, I need to create an XML file from DB fetching the image name and url and writing them to XML file. And every time the flash will load these from XML file instead of connecting to DB server.
2) No XML file. The flash will communicate with a PhP page which will fetch the records from DB and give it to flash for loading

I am using JSON to parse HTML data with customized html tags in Flex. Flex's support for HTML is pretty minimal, so I am wondering if it's possible to do a simple font color change rollover effect on these links. Currently I have found that Flex only supports a few HTML tags, but also supports CSS through Flex's whack CSS methods. Can I manipulate HTML that is written in my JSON files through an external CSS file? Or better still using a simple tag with the JSON file?
I am currently trying to pull RSS data into a project for my first time and am trying to get 3 (potentially 4) boxes filled with rss data that will be updated. So far, I am going with Actionscript 3. So far I have the code below, but it puts data in a listbox. What is the easiest way to put the data in three dynamic text boxes inside a movie clip, so I have one for the title, one for description and one for link (shown as 'read more' text but a link using the url from the rss value)?I am really banging my head against the wall on this one and want to get it sorted asap,I have also attached an image to show what I am trying to do:I also want to know if it's possible to show rss values only if they exist. I have an AS3 flash movie and each page is a new frame. On my pages are dynamic scrollable text boxes that I created with the text tool. I got a music portfolio web site running PHP, MySQL and Flash. There's a page showing all the artists my client worked for and when you click on a song title, this title is passed as a variable to a PHP page then to a Flash page. The Flash page contains an actionscript music player which then looks for the right audio file in the database and plays the song. Everything works great except for the dynamic text field which displays the song title. If the song title contains an apostrophe or a single quote, the Flash dynamic text field then shows the apostrophe.[code]

I have 2 input textfields on the stage and 1 dynamic textfield.
-input1 is for quantity
-input2 is for page count
When a user enters a number into the page count it makes a calculation and places the outcome into the dynamic textfield. This textfield is for the individual price.All of this so far works. What I want to do now is create another dynamic textfield for the total. So the individual price is multiplied by the quantity and this result is put in the new dynamic text field. I have the code for that working but here is where it gets tricky (for me anyway).The total price is to start off invisible. When I roll over the individual price the total price is to appear (For a test lets just say when I roll over an area the total price appears).To stop cursor flickering this should be done inside a movieclip. So... I have create a movieclip and placed a dynamic textfield inside it. They all have instance names BUT how do I reference it in script?I need to tell the resulting calculation to be placed inside the textfield which is inside the movieclip. If it isn't inside a movie clip I can do it. But how to I reference it when inside one?
I have created a Flash Map that functions properly with a static XML file but when I try to load a dynamic XML generated my ColdFusion I get no results. The example can be found at: http:[url]...The one that does not work is at http:[url]....
This map should load the different states that are in the XML file but instead it does not load any of them. The two different XML files can be found at: http:[url]....and http:[url].....An interesting note: Firefox does not recognize the cfm file as a XML file but IE does. This may be based on the file extension.
The Action Script is exactly the same except that it references adifferent file. The Flash works when published for Flash Player 6 but when I try to publish for Player 8 even the static XML does not work.

I've created a piece of code that will send some info off to be inserted into a database and then it's recordID will be returned to flash. I'm trying to put the returned id into a dynamic text field but for some reason it's not going. I was wondering if someone could have alook at my code and let me know if I'm doing something wrong. The recordID is being returned to Flash as it's appearing in the trace.
