I want my Dynamic textfield to display test from an XML-file. It loads the XML, but for some reason my dynamic textfield shows the nodenames, as well as the node text. Here's a snippet of my code:

I display the name of operator in a TextField after parsing the xml file my problem is to loop through this different TextField with a fade effect.
Simply as I can put it, I drag a Datefield component on stage and then create a dynamic text field on stage. I'm looking for the actionscript to make the selected date from the DateField also appear in the dynamic textfield.
I've found the script to do this for a numeric stepper

When the movie plays, the cursor shows that there is text where it is supposed to be, but I do not see any text. I don't see an option to attach a file, otherwise I would.

I am currently creating an online portfolio using Slideshowpro [URL]. For some of my pictures I am using (external) captions from a XML file, inserted into a dynamic textfield. As some of the captions contain a lot of text I decided to add a UIScrollBar. However, when there is no text (no caption) available, I want the scrollbar to be hidden. Also if there is not enough text to warrant a scrollbar it would be great if it could be hidden!
Code below, note that "t_txt" is the instance name of my dynamic textfield:

I bought a website template that has a scrolling photo gallery. As it came, the images are static in the fla file itself. I would like to edit the fla and load images dynamically. Ideally from MSSQL. I'm using VS2010, C# webforms, and SQL Server 2008 R2. Are there any code snippets or tutorials or general guidance on how to do this? I do have a CS3 disc with Flash on it I can use for editing.

I am really at a lose end with this - I have a flash file called in xml into a dynamic textfield. It works fine with English but when I try and put Greek into the xml the flash file then doesn't show the font. The font is verdana - which can be translated and I have embedded the font, with greek and made sure my xml is unicode-8 - but it still shows nothing.

The text works great when I view the .swf, but when I place the .swf in a web page the text no longer appears. I'm using loadVariables("text.txt", ""); in my ActionScript and text.txt is located in the same directory. i use jquery

where #test is the id of the flash movieclip;
in flash.
ExternalInterface.addCallback("sendToFlash", fromJS);
and fromJS just displays the text passed from the html into the textfield.
its working fine in IE, Chrome, Safari but not working on Firefox.

The content of the txt file will be modified daily by the client.What i need is that if there is too much text in the txt file, the dynamic textfield resizes (and not only with autosize because the text can be really long).[code]it doesnt look very good but it works. View 0 RepliesI have a dynamic textfield being populated with an xml files' content. I then have a css stylesheet loaded into format the text. This all works great, but what doesn't work is the ability to bold some of the words in that text. I have both the regular and bold versions of the font embedded into the swf, I can test out just a bold block of text and it works fine. The css is also working as it will change the size of the text that I tell it to. Everything is working, but for some reason I am not able to get the bolder version of the font to display in the same text box as the regular one. I have also tried to change fonts but had the same outcome.
