I was just wondering if there is a code program/editor for actionscript where you can select/highlight a section of code and then be able to use the search/replace function to find a word in that piece of code you've just highlighted, instead of going through the whole document.

In my code i bind some value on selectedId property of custom list(list is placed inside popup - TitleWindow). Now, only on the first show up of my custom list, employee, who have id identical as selectedId, is not visually selected(colored) in list. When i said visually, i mean that i get correct object and index when i take selectedItem or selectedIndex property of my custom list. Even more, on that critical first show up, when i roll mouse over item which should be selected, it stays selected(as she should be) after i roll out.
I am trying to select and highlight a specific row on the datagrid in an embedded swf everytime the movie loads. I am using flash cs3 and actionscript 3 , published on flash player 9. anyone done anything similar? Did quite a bit of searching none of the methods actuall seemed to work.

When working with AS3 in Flash CS4 the actual size of the window that I edit the code in does not show all my lines...Doing page down never reaches the final lines.. Is there a setting on how to change this somehow?
View 1 RepliesI have flash cs4 and when I am typing code in the editor. It appears that the more code I add to my .as document, the more sluggish it gets. When typing, it appears to be a delay for when my text actually appears on screen. does anyone know what this could be.

CodeMirror has a good syntax highlighting support but does not seem to support auto-completion.If no such editor exists do you know any way to implement auto-completion using HTML and javascript or any other browser-side technology ?
how the editors work. Which will be the best way to read the code and then give the user one simple UI? I am thinking of using charCodeAt(num) == "{"? But would it be possible for me to read the code? give me example of how editors 'read' the data or point me some issues that i can look through.

View 1 RepliesIn Flash Builder, for objects, properties, variables and such where your cursor is on it, the editor highlights all instances of that name in the code with a grey box. This can be very distracting and I was wondering if there was a way to turn it off or if there is a hot key to disable it.Another things that is very distracting are the mouse hover popups, although apparently there's no way to disable those :

There are 100 buttons in my movie clip and a timeline of 10 frames length.If user clicks on button1, the movie clip will play and at the last frame it will redirect to second scene (scene2) and then "on scene2's first frame" "externalscene1.swf" will be loaded.If user clicks on button 5 then on scene2's first frame "externalswf2.swf" will be loaded

Flex 4 Combobox is extended with a Text Input that helps in getting to the item that is searched for.I have created a Check Box as an itemrenderer for this Flex 4 Combobox. I would like to Add a Select All and Select None options in the drop down of the Combobox. I know that i could accomplish by editing the dropdownfactory in case of a Flex 3 Combobox. But in Flex 4 the dropdownfactory doesnt exist.
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to do some animation in Flash, and for some reason, just out of the blue, I managed to switch on the highlight box that turns up around all marks you make with the paintbrush. I found the option in the preferences window to change the colour, so I swapped it to the background colour so the box is slightly less intrusive, but it's still pretty distracting when im trying to draw. How do I turn it off?
EDIT: Also I have noticed i can only 'fill' a shape with the fill tool if it was a complete shape made with a single line. So for example if i were to draw a circle and then in my second brushstroke i were to draw a line across the centre and then apply the fill/paintbucket tool to the circle, it would fill the entire circle rather than the section before where the line crossed it. Is this related to the 'box' issue?
I have a simple shape, e.g. rect, circle, polygon, in a movie clip that I want to highlight, via AS3, when it is clicked. I thought I could just turn off the stroke using alpha of 0 and then turn it back up to act as the highlight but have been unable to find any way to do this. I was able to change the alpha for the entire mc but can't find a way to access the strokes of the shape.If it is just a rectangle or circle I can use the info from the shape to draw the highlight but when it gets more complicated I don't know how to find the borders of the shape.
View 3 RepliesIn my code, when a user clicks on a button, I set the alpha of the button to 50 and set enabled=0. This works to essentially disable and grey out the button. The problem is that even though the button has been disabled, it still sits in the over state until the user moves the cursor off the hit area... Funny, no?
Since you can't tell a button what frame to go to, how do I get it to go back to its up state (without recreating all my buttons as movieclips and doing the whole thing manually)?
In flex, how can I highlight text/label? I have text and a small image that I want to highlight.
