how the editors work. Which will be the best way to read the code and then give the user one simple UI? I am thinking of using charCodeAt(num) == "{"? But would it be possible for me to read the code? give me example of how editors 'read' the data or point me some issues that i can look through.

Such as add text, draw simple shapes and add preloaded vector art into the canvas area. At the moment all that works well, apart from making them scale. Can anyone guide me to a good learning resource or may be enlighten me on how do I do this properly? What I'm looking for is when the user clicks on an already added object in the canvas a bounding box should appear around it with handles to scale that object.

View 2 RepliesI am building a short "introduciton" movie that an orthodontist will show prospective patients. It has 32 pages (frames) each is it's own mc. I have a btn that the user can click and go to a screen that will allow them to choose to dispay or omit 6 of the pages (becasue they may not pertain to their practice). I have no clue how to do this since I am a graphic artist and a novice to Flash. I've watched as many tutorial movies as my brain can handle, and it's about to burst! View 1 RepliesI want to show the user a confirmation box when they deselect a checkbox. My code works although I think it is a bit of a hack. I listen to the checkbox click and then show the alert. Depending on the result I then set the checkbox to be checked again.

the code is specific to cb1 and cannot be reused for other checkboxes the checkbox is deselected when the alert shows. Then when the user clicks no the checkbox is selected again. stop the uncheck event if the user clicks no on the alert box. Is it possible to intercept this in Flex?
When working with AS3 in Flash CS4 the actual size of the window that I edit the code in does not show all my lines...Doing page down never reaches the final lines.. Is there a setting on how to change this somehow?

I'm working on this flash game right now and I need to implement a simple players database...
It needs to be both read and writable . Meaning, when the player register to save his character information , he needs to key in his email and a password and create an account. The account shall store that player's life amount, ammunition etc . All the infos are stored on an external file and retrieved again when the player logins to the game with the email as his login ID. Security issues are not the biggest concern here because its not exactly meant to be an online game and I don't think hacking would be something I need to worry about ^^'''

I need to develop, what would be like, a projector screen that the user could pull down, read what is on it, and click to "roll" back up. I know how to do the interaction with the mouse and all, but how do I make the object "grow" so it is hidden when it is "rolled" up and slowly reveals itself like a projector screen would?
