Creating a paint like program in Flash. I have it so the mouse is replaced with a brush and when the brush is over the toolbar, the brush goes back to the mouse. It works until you start to paint.

Right now I create a paint program, which will consist of _xmouse, _ymouse, different colors to draw lines, different sizes. But I have a problem: _root.line.lineStyle(size,0x00ff99,100); The size is the thickness of the pen. But it don't seems to work inside of that script.

I am creating a video program in Flash CS4 with AS3. I have a main video FLVPlayer and small FLVPlayers at the bottom(click on the small video to view in main video)... simple What I would like to do is, instead of loading the whole movie in each small FLVPlayer, I would like to load the first frame and stop loading (kinda like a first frame screen shot). Is there any way that I can start the loading process and then stop after the first frame is loaded?
I have problem with creating e-mail link in my Flash CS4 program. The problem is that when i create button i cant attach any actions to him. It was not a problem for me in flash 4 i was working before. The movie is in Action script 3.0.
Anyways, I started playing with flash applications a while back, and had a folder on my desktop to keep all the finished ones in, and eventually windows deemed it a default flash folder. I used to run the apps in SWF max, until I finally got flash to load them up in the player again, so I uninstalled that. I also went ahead last night to tidy up my files, and among that, I moved the folder with my flash games from my desktop to a sub folder in my documents. Now however, when I log back into the computer after a reboot, a folder called "Flash Games" (the name of the folder I kept them in) keeps creating itself. The only contents is its Desktop.ini file, the contents of which are:

So ultimately, I figured well it wasn't windows deeming it the default flash, but that silly program I'd already removed. (There are no traces of it in my program files anymore either) I have not as yet went through both registry and the rest of the computer to remove those traces yet, but I doubt there will be many, it was a portable program.
Are there any tutorials available that will show me how to create a multiple class program from scratch? I have 2 classes working with a fla and when I add a 3rd class every object I create comes up as an error.1120: Access of undefined property.I'm very frustrated cause I can't figure what the problem is. I have just migrated to OOP so I'm relatively new at this.
I am creating as2 programs in Flash Develop Editor and compling that .as2 file in MTASC compiler, I am not using the FLASH IDE , I want to write a pure AS2 program that should contain any of form elements link Input Box,Label ( we import controls mx.controls.* in Flash IDE) . i would like to produce a online windows 2003 emulator so anyone can use windows 2003 through a browser instead of installing the software - something similar to temulator [url]......- and zen internet emulator[url]...... - i have basic html & css skills can it be done using html/css or is it better to use java/flash etc ,i am thinking of just using screenshots and then linking them together , but its very time conusming to do. what is the best programming language and BEST approach?

I want to develop an Application similar to Paint in windows where I have a main window ( let's say window1) where something can be drawn. And a small object window(let's say window 2) which will contain objects each will represent a particular pattern of graph(Like i have one pattern where i can draw a pie chart or a simple graph etc etc). I have created a flash program and I would like to run a second flash program from inside the first. To explain, say I am running a program that draws a circle and fills it with a color. Then, I have designed a second program that will divide a circle into sectors by entering percentages, to turn that circle into a pie chart. Is there a way to be running the "draw a circle" program and have a button that opens the "divide the circle into sectors" program in a new window and then passes information from that program to the first program. I am sure I will have to send the information from the second program to an XML file and then have the first program recieve it from the XML file (which I can do), but I don't know if I can run the second program from inside the first program.

I need to develop an application using ActionScript that needs to paint an image. Like the bucket tool in Photoshop. I'm using the method floodFill(), available in the BitmapData class. Is it the best option?I'm having a second problem, because de image that will be painted is formed by 3 images. So, using de floodFill() method, I can paint only 1 of the 3 images.
for my class i have to draw this fish. in one of the steps it says to draw fins with the pencil. then it says to use the paint bucket tool to color it in. however i cannot color it in. i used all the options too, close small, medium, & large gaps and i still can't color it in. does it have to connect to the start point? i simply attached it to the fish's body. i started over on the 1st part of this 3 time already, and my patience is wearing thin.
[URL] the bucket function generates random droplets of paint, I was wondering how it's possible to program it using AS. (Apparently they used pre-drawn shapes and changed their rotation, x and y scale) (BTW, I want more circle-shaped droplets than the linear ones)

I'm trying to change the color of all 4-letter words in a spark.components.Label. I'm trying RichText + the code below as suggested by Georgi and see that the pattern replacement has worked (by looking at the trace() output), but get the error: TypeError: Error #1034: Type Coercion failed: cannot convert "[object TextFlow][object TextFlow]" to flashx.textLayout.elements.TextFlow.
I want to make a paint bucket function, I know about floodfill, but it leaves a white (like the background color) outline.And anyhow I would rather make it on a sprite without converting it to a bitmap, is there a way?And if not then anyone knows how to fix the outline on the floodfill?
