i need to export a frame with code into a PNG file on the users HD...this will be an .exe ...and will not be posted online...is there anyway to do this with AS2? Well my main goal is to give the user the ability to print the frame...sooo if i could just print that frame some how that would be better....
ps. I was thinking about turning the frame into bitmap data..... if that would ring any bells...
I am having an issue where if I import a graphic to the library or directly to the stage, it causes my movie to stop on frame #1, even though the graphic is on frame #40. I have tried a .png, .jpg, and .psd and they all cause this behavior. I have put other graphics in and never had this issue.

I have set up a website with a flash navigation in a top frame (top.htm) and a html page in the lower main frame.
Weird problem going on right now. And I seriously don't know what this is about.
On my main timeline (new document)
I create a text. I convert that text to an image. I drag that image on my main timeline at frame 1.
Then I set opacity to 0%. Create a keyframe at frame 50. Then I Tween it. And at frame 50, I set opactity back to 100%.
When I test the movie (ctrl enter) it just doesnt show the tween AT ALL. It goes straight to the last frame.
When I just go to frame 1, and press enter. It does work like it's supposed to.
in normal swf files, usually it plays from frame 1 till the end and then loop...
is it possible to use javascripts/any script to make it start play from, e.g. frame 10?
I purchased a TM AS2 Flash 8 / XML Template. I'm trying to figure out how to create a text link inside my XML content that can link back into the flash movie to a specific MOVIE/FRAME.
I've found where a XML text link can trigger a function (<a href="asfunction:_root.more_click_func,0">), but I can't seem to figure out how to simply go to a specific frame in the flash. I would think that this would be easy. ??? I don't need to do anything dynamic, except load the link exactly as presented in the XML file.
I have the main fla file (Handwashing.fla) and I want to load another swf file (Quiz.swf) at frame 301 of my fla file. They each work seperately, but once I insert the AS I get this error: TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
I am only in my 2nd class of Flash and this doesn't mean anything to me.

I am trying to load external files from flash but I also need to do it using a variable that gets the frame label which is the same as the file name something like:
var myVariable:String = frame.get(framelabel);
and then use this code each time I get to a different frame label to load an external file for example when I am on frame "Boy", It loads Boy.jpg or Boy.txt -
thats it is there a way to take all the code in a frame and save it to a .AS file and import that .AS file into the frame where the code originally was?

Few of my good colleagues till prefer writing code on the Flash timeline, on the frames (code as bigh as 100-150 lines), rather than using external AS files, when rest of the world has reached to AS 3.0 which is close to Java (OOP).I'm just wanted to know the big benefit of writing the code on the frames. I know that it is highly un-manageable and I have personally faced many instances of code not initializing, or behaving strange on a frame.

I'm trying to reference a specific frame inside a MC in my .swf file from an .as file.What I want is to capture the current frame of the movie clip for the .as file. It's for the purpose of points when you shoot each plane. It's an easy trick of frame 1's plane would be worth 100 points, frame 2's plane 200 points, etc.I thought I'd write a line like this in my collision detection section of my .as file.

The only problem is, of course, it grabs the current frame of the main .swf timeline that my flash file uses, and not the movieclip that's being called to produce the planes.So I thought I'd be able to specify a path to the movie clip (in this case it's called Airplane in the MC's linkage properties)

I have several FLV files that play via the FLV playback component dragged onto the stage. The user presses a button and the appropriate FLV plays.
After it plays I what to move to another frame so the FLV is no longer on the stage and makes way for the next one the user selects.

I would like to have an action script that permits me to click on a thumbnail and to load the genova.swf to a specific frame, that way if the user need to see immediately photo #3 without having to cycle through photo #1 and #2
he would click on the thumbnail photo #3 in the main website and the genova.swf will popup at image 3 from the slideshow.
I am creating a decision tree in flash (where someone answers questions which eventually gets them to a preferable conclusion). I have been using code snippets to link the different frames. I have created an animation that I would like to play when the user gets to the conclusion (I will use the 'click to go to frame and play' code snippet) but how can I turn the animation file into a single frame or object but still function as a animation. I tried saving as a SWF and drag into my project so it could appear as a object but it only plays in another window.

The timeline is 170 frames in length, and this code is keyframed on an actions layer on frame 170 - however, I'd like the final stopped flash swf file to occur at frame 155. I can't just put this code on frame 155 - it skips a whole section of animation (from frames 155 to 170) that I want to keep in the loops.

i've got some movie clips on the stage on the first frame of an fla file. The mcies have event listeners to navigate to differnet frames on the timeline. Some of the frames to which we navigate have FLVPlayback components while others dont. i'm using some code for soundchannel in this fla, to create an array and load differnt music at a btn click, so that when we go to a certain frame we get some music. This works, no overlapping music.
The issue, that when we navigate to a frame with an flv that has an audio track, the the music that's playing on a different frame just wont stop. And another issue, when we navigate from the flv frame by clicking the mc that listens for the sound channel, the flv audio track wont stop playing and we get cuckaphonia.

I have added 4 different sound files to 4 different frames that are navigated via buttons. The problem i have is that if you navigate to another frame while one sound file is still playing the sound file continues over the next frame and the sounds clash. What i need to do is have the sound files stop once the frame is exited so is there a simple way to do this in AS3...

I have 20 frames on a timeline, and a mc in the frames. Frame 1 the mc is _alpha 0%, at frame 20 the _alpha is 100%. A tween between the frames fades up the mc alpha. How can I change the frame 20 _alpha setting from outside the swf file? Say I need the alpha to be 60% at frame 20 BUT I can't open up the FLA, can I adjust the Alpha setting (using Loadvars perhaps) without going back into the FLA? I won't have access to the FLA (when the file is online) and I want to be able to manipulate the frame 20 _alpha setting. I have tried doing this totally in actionscript and not using the timeline, but if I can't get that to work I will need to be able to adjust the alpha parameter without editing the FLA.

So how do you find out that the loaded swf really reached the end? How do you find out the end of the loaded flv inside the loaded swf?
