I am really interested in the separate images loading and connecting at the xpoint. And of course the tween dragging of the overall sections. I have a terrible example I have begun working on, but it works on the _root._ymouse and _root._xmouse positions. The images also overlapp. Here is the link to the example site. [URL].

View 2 RepliesI am using a horizontal tilelist in flex to display an image gallery with only one item in horiz. tilelist being shown at a time. I have next and previous buttons on both sides. The problem is I want to display a particular item/image in that list when user clicks on a thumb image from another thumbimages tilelist at bottom. I used someTilelist.selectedIndex property but it just selects that particular index in list, it does not show that particular item/image. I want the list to show that particular image, not just select it. Please take note that the horiz. tilelist shows only one image at time.

View 1 RepliesI'm developing my portfolio and want to add a horizontal scrolling dynamic gallery (see files). In order to achieve this I combined Lee Brimelow's tutorial on a horizontal scrolling gallery with a tutorial onhow to load images dynamically into a gallery. So far so good... It all seems to work except for the fact that the gallery has to detect the number of images in the scroller and adjust it's width accordingly (which it doesn't do yet). Also it has to make sure it doesn't scroll out of the containing MC (you'll see what I mean when you open the files; it also doesn't do that just yet).

I want my page to be covered with thumbnails (not just in a row) then when you click on a thumbnail the image will open up either vertical or horizontal on top of the thumbnails. How can I do this without scripting or does anyone know of a simple way to do this with either Flash or another Product?

Except I want the thumbnails to do a horizontal continuous scroll, instead of being set out on a grid.
Now that in AS3 I can't use duplicateMovieClip. Is there anyway to make it loop without repeating the nodes in my XML?

View 14 RepliesI've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)

That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I am having trouble in dragging a image within a loader. I am able to do zooming and rotating image but not moving image with mouse. Purpose is when I zoom a image info is out of boundaries and so is hidden. To see that info users should be able to drag the image any way they want.

I have the mouse wheel controlling zoom, and I understand the object.startdrag and stopstopdrag and how to make it work. How ever it moves the entire object, which meeses up the built in buttons that pan around the map.I am wondering if any of the flash gurus on this site would venture a guess for a solution to making mouse down add a pan function similar to the way button clicks work.[code]

In the log there a line that says:

My application (AS3) uses Flash Player right-click zoom feature. However, when zoomed in I cannot drag when the cursor is over an image, navigation bar or active area.This makes the menu and several other pages impossible to navigate when zoomed in.The only option is for the user to zoom out and then zoom back in on the next area they want to look at.how default dragging can be enabled when cursor is over an image/ moviclip?

What I do to make the image draggable? *(The image is loaded when the swf starts but the image won't because I put the addChild() in a if() statement. Could it be that since the image isn't loaded, it can't be a movieclip?)

How can I make a horizontal image scroller that when u click and hold would allow me to scroll through a pan with hotspots(buttons)? I have this script which does the basic functions I am wanting but it if I drag right enough I can drage the MC right out of the frame. I would like to be able to scroll right and then when it meets the very right edge of the movie clicp and the actual movie frame it won't go further. Same with the left edge.
