If you click the scroller in this .fla I've attached the text jumps away at first. The jump increases when you increase the [x]*dydrag function in value. I want the text to follow the inverse motion of the scroller very smoothly.

I have a blank flash movie which has a circle drawn in the middle I then have a movie clip symbol called "star", it is basically a line drawing of a star Within the main movie, I have the "star" snapped to the circle so that I can make a "motion tween" to rotate the star around the circle. What I want to do, is make the "star" rotate around the circle but only doing it when the mouse cursor is being moved around the circle. So the "star" is following the mouse cursor, but the star should remain clipped to the curcle.

1) I can't figure out how to have URL links in the text that loads.
2) How can I make the scroller refresh to allow for new text in the dynamic text area. The content changes alright, but the scroller stays in the same position and if it wasn't needed initially, the scroller disappears and doesn't return on new text.
I want to make a Flash app that will scroll text whilst music plays. The music part is easy, but scrolling the text...I've tried simply importing ALL of the text, resizing, and scrolling that one giant object upwards, but when the screen was full of text it began to slow down. I need the speed uniform to sync it with the music in the background.
I could have a 70,000,000,000 frame movie and move each element individually, avoiding the heavy load, but the amount of work on my end this would require would be so astronomical that it just wouldn't be worth it. Ideally I want something like a component that I can dump text into and have it deal with making the scroll speed uniform.
It would also be a major plus point if it could be used/created by another program, so that someone without Adobe Flash could produce a similiar kind of movie simply by putting in their text and MP3 file and hitting a "Generate" button.
I dowloaded and played with the following scroller on this site... [URL] I see where the text is under Actions but I'm wondering if I can input hyperlinks and email links as well or will I only be able to use this with plain text. If formatting and links are allowed, how can I input the text to show as a link. Sorry, I don't know much about flash and just trying to make a simple text box with scrolling capability that will allow hyperlinks, bold, etc...

I created a motion preset of a 3D text animation that made the text swing back and forth like a gate with the hinge on the far left side. However, when I apply the motion preset to other text, the text moves to a new location and the text swings closer to the center than the far left side. Moving the text only creates a travel path that further complicates matters.
what am I doing wrong with the motion preset? How can I save something into a preset and apply it to other things and have the animation work the way it was designed?
I am trying to find where the IKManager is located on my file system, so that I can import it into my project from Flex Builder. Though this class apparently comes standard with CS4, it's nowhere to be found on the filesystem. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Is it in a swc file?

I would like the text to start with animation, and after animation follow the mouse. Please enter this site, you can see here an example : [URL]. See that when you enter a country, it starts with a animation from the right, and then follows the user's mouse position until he exits the country. I am quite new to AS, I will be very glad if someone can explain what is the best approach for this. I am able to make the animation with the tween class, but was not able to make it follow the mouse after the animation ends. On the other hand I was also able making it follow my mouse but was not able to make it start with animation.

View 1 RepliesI've created a horizontal dynamic text scroller (like latest news ones found on some websites) in flash 8 with as2, and this swf file reads data from a .txt file. the problem is that when change the txt in the file, it doesnt show in my browser until i clear its cache. But if a client doesnt clear cache he will get the old text...I would like to know how to prevent the browser from caching that swf content, any code or script will be most welcomed. I've tried to add <meta> tags in my html but of no use.

i am trying to edit a flash template with flash cs4.the problem is that there are some pictures in there that are hidden ( dont ask how is that possible becoz i dont know). to see this pictures i have to use distribute into layers. as i want to change this photos the problem is that after i change them i dont know how to do the invers of distribute into layers.... and as a result the template doesent work as it has to.
View 1 RepliesI've taken this problem far and wide, and it's a common one, too: Someone wants to use a mask inversely, hiding the masked object instead of revealing it. The only coded solution is to create a bigger "stage" mask with the inverse mask cut out. I understand the process, and have a slight grip on methods of executing it. Too bad it still will not work properly. I have employed two solutions to no avail. There was this simple option, and then there was this slightly harder option.
And where it works for some people, it is not working in my instance. If you look at my files, the masks cut out rather strangely. Is there something different about this situation that requires a different line of code, or am I simply using it wrong? To show you how they worked out, this is the goal: And this is what I ended up with after option 2: Because the object will be squishing and changing shape, creating the mask frame by frame would be a hassle. Changing the shape of a solid mask is a lot easier than moving the particular points of a "stage" mask manually.
