ActionScript 2.0 :: Image Importer To MovieClips

I have 25 images in my library and I want to use the attachMovie function in AS2 but this doesn't work if it's an image. So instead of making all of these movie clips on my own I wanted to see if there was a way to export all of them into my library as movieclips. I am using CS4 btw.

I have loaded an external image into a movieclip (say mcA)  using  MovieClipLoader.
 
In AS3, we can use addChild to add a movieclip into another movieclip or sprite, but in AS2, we have to use attachMovie to attach the movieclip from the Library.  Since this is an external file on server, I cannot use attachMovie.
 
I need to add the content of mcA, i.e. the image, to another movieclip (say mcB) so that both mcA and mcB contains the same image.
 
How can I do this in AS2 without loading again the image from the server?

Imagine a picture of yourself. You want to break it up into 40 MC's like a puzzle, but don't want to goto photoshop or gimp to cut out 40 pieces. Is there a way to do it in code?

I want to save dynamic movieclips as jpg/image Basically i have several dynamic images, then i make some addition into it (like adding images in it) and then i want to save the movieclips as image(or jpg).I searched in google and i found bitmap exporter and sephiroth examples. But problem is that i dont know how to use them as I am not able to get .fla files in either of the examples.

I need to reproduce these java screens in AS:

It's basically a PNG that gets refreshed once a second.

I need to reproduce 3 such screens in flash. The code below works, but the refresh (loadClip) blanks out the previous image before loading the new one, creating a blinking effect.

Is there a way around that? can I refresh the movieclips smoothly, like it was a video?

Is there (or what is the) best method to address duplicated movieclips? For example if you duplicate a number of movieclips (or attach or anything else) through a for loop and give them names like mc1, mc2, etc, how can you address them outside the loop? Especially if the number of times you duplicate the clips is read from a file which can change constantly. Example - an image gallery where you just add the files to your xml and they show up in the gallery.

I've made a loop that is creating 9x movieClips that is loading external images and I have also added eventListeners to those movieClips to make it possible to change the movieclips image. My problem is that i can't access the target of the "first eventListener". Here is the code to browse for the new image, i want to access the movieclip of this function in a later eventListener, like this: event.CurrentTarget

I have a gallery that reads an ms access database using asp and then loops through an array of records and duplicates an empty movieclip for each record. jpeg is then loaded into the movieclip and then a variable for the _x position is incremented and then the next one is loaded etc.I then use the same method to add the necessary labels for the images by duplicating a movieclip and adding a text fieldThis is all fine and produces a gallery of images but the problem comes when I try and position the labels according to the height of the image. I have tried every method I can think of to check the image attributes which are only available when it is fully loaded, but I keep getting a value of 0.

I m trying to make sense of how to load a swf into a parent MovieClip and allow them to communicate.I ve attached two zip files � one which works fine and the other doesn�t. Unfortunately (for me), the one which doesn�t work is closer to my current project.I need to load movieclips into the parent movieclip. The parent movieclip has controls which rely on values parsed from the child movieclip.In the parent movieclips I wait until the loading is complete and so the values should be passed. However, the values aren�t passed unless I use a button (or timer), to pass the values (see the working exampes).The code which doesn�t work is:

I toyed with looping thru stage's children so I can first target clips on the stage. But I am getting error.

I want to test mc animations without having to hit F12 to see if they work correctly. For instance, if I have an animation movieclip and then I make another movieclip and drop that aforementioned movieclip within, and animate [via the timeline or library preview] I'm unable to see on-the-fly what my animation looks like... it only shows the top most nest, unless I F12 it.

So if I have a character blinking eyes (one movieclip) and then I create another movie clip of the face, and put that aforementioned movieclip within, the preview animation within the library does not show how it'll be viewed when F12'n it.,,,, it'd be great to see your animations on the fly.

why does a MC inside another MC have different _x and _y values than the main timeline?What I am trying to do right now is animate a MC inside another MC then get the main MC holding everything to move where that new MC ended animating at (it's part of a game I'm making.)

I know it's confusing but Flash shows the cursors current X and Y in the info panel, which is the same as the main timeline. Yet inside the movieclip, an x of 76 and a y of 277 on the timeline is -195 and -30.9 (respectively) inside the MC.How do I fix it so I can get the _x and _y values to match up so I can tell the main MC to reposition itself to the new X and Y (of the inside MC)

I have a movieclip called mapWindow, inside mapWindow are dynamically created movieclips of various sizes. The movieclips inside the mapWindow don't take up the entire space of the mapWindow and thus I use a startDrag on the mapWindow upon detection of a mouse press. The problem is, I don't want the start drag to start if the mouse is detected over any of the child movieclips inside mapWindow.

I have a few ideas of how to proceed, but I'm not sure how to reference all child movieclips of a particular movieclip - or something along those lines.

It would be easy to use the hittest function if I knew how to reference all the movieclips I need to, but alas...

I am starting with AS3 programming icm with Flash Builder 4.I have created a "Main" class which is the initial stage.On this stage there is a movieclip called mcMain.In this mcMain is 4 other movieclips: mcStats1 mcStats2 mcStats3 mcStats4 .How can I access these mcStats1-4 from the code to make them go to another frame?I tried:

I used to work in AS2 and something like this worked:

But converting it to AS3, it doesn't work anymore.

i want to rotate 3D an Image called img1 in Flex. I want to rotate it around y axis 180 degree. I can do this by using 3D effect already built in Flex but i want to do a bit more different. I want during rotating, there's another image called img2 appear on back of img1 (in default case, the image appear on the back is img1) and when rotating finish, the image will be img2.

I am working on an Image manipulation application which will be developed using Flash/ C#.Net. Is this possible to save the image manipulations (not the image) saved from Adobe Lightroom for a specific image & then merge these change sets with an image to make a new image using C#.Net?

Also, the application for image manipulation will be developed in the Flash/ Action Script. Please share some links as to how we can save the image manipulations for an image (not the image) so that it can be merged with an image later on.
