Is it possible to add layers, re-order layers, move movieclips from layer to layer or specify which layer a duplicate movieclip appears on at runtime with AS3?I am aware of the depth properties and the functions associated with that but it would be easier to have a concept of a layer because I am dealing with masks.I have a nasty feeling I'm gonna be told that layers don't really exist within an swf and that depths and setmask are all there is to work with.
I want to know how can I mask an image on one layer which should enogh for other movie clips. Like the following ...
1) First layer ........................ Actionscript
2) Mask layer ....................... Rounded rectange with some design
2) Image layer ...................... Best image (as a background for all other movie clips)
3) Movie Clips layer .............. 10 Movie clips (which are like slides and will be act like one webpage each)
What I want is the mask layer (Layer 2) should be enogh for all the movie clips in layer 3. No need to mask in each movie. I tried in the same sequence but it did not work for me.
How do I apply a layer mask to every layer in my movie? After I highlight all of the layers and put them in the layer mask, the layers that are in folders will not go in the layer mask.
I am creating a touchcreen (LCD) for a property development. We I am having a problem is on the interactive map.Picture a map with icons all over it.When you touch the icon a image of that area of the map pops up.you then click on a X on the top right to go back to the map.I have probably dont this incorrect and those only because I dont have much knowledge.I have create the map on the lowest layer. The icons (same graphic - eye) are on there own layers.I converted the icon to a BUTTON and added the pop up on the DOWN.The problem I have is when you touch the icon on a layer other than the top layer the top layer icon shows on the screen (ontop of the popup).
I am working on a simple art scroller that will scroll images across the screen. It is very simple but my problem is that when I try to use NavigateToURL certain layer/instances will not work unless they are placed on top of the other layers (except AS layer). Other layers seem to work perfectly fine under the other layers. All in all I have approx. 15 layers all with one piece of art, instances at all keyframes and a actionscript layer on top.
i want to collapse a complex scene with all different layers and different transparency into a single layer (or as few as possible) to optimize the flash file for online (were experince proformance issues). I have tried the combine and manually copying pasting into one layer but it cuts the fill below and replace with transparent fill. I want to have a end file that is 100% solid.
I'm making an interactive book and I would like to make my "Text"-layer invisible when I start the "Turn Page"-animation. It's either that, or I'm gonna have to put a code for EVERY 23 MoveClips with the Texts in them, since I'm using the same "Turn Page"-button.
I don't know if this is possible, but can you have a button on one layer play a mc on another layer? I am trying to build a file where when my button is clicked, it will move the x and y axis of a movie clip on the layer below. I'm working in CS4 action script 3.0 (no drop down menu option?)
I have a movieclip and I have 3 layers within the movie clip with Shape tweens. Now i want to create either 3 buttons or shapes or graphics which, when you hover the mouse over, one of the specific layers with the shape tween, will play only once (until the mouse hovers over again).
the snow effect always acts like the top layer, ok what i mean is, i have 3 layers, (1)toplayer= a car, (2)middle= snow, (3)low= background.I want to make the snow to be seen behind the car...i hope you understand what i mean , whenever i put the code from the link above it acts as the top layer and appears in front of everything.
I am doing some research on creating clcikTags. I read a few places that the clcikTag should be on the top layer. That has been fine, but now I want to loop it and I usually put my actions in the top layer. Will this cause a problem? Am I better off just putting my loop action on the last key frame of the clcikTag layer?
Im creating a program that is designed to allow the used to select 3 pictures (movie clips) and print them off on a single peace of paper.
The program works by allowing the user to select 3 graphics (the graphics are actually instructions for various exercises) and then moving the desired movieclips onto the stage. This all happens on a layer named "Content"
So far the program will allow the user to select the movieclips and will move them into place on the Content layer as well as move smaller versions of the pictures into a preview box the only thing it does not do is print. (the most important bit)
Is it possible to create multiple layer masks over a single layer using Actionscript3?Below is the flash effect I wanted to create with masks.First it starts from A and goes to B and C simultaneously. Then from B it goes to H and D simultaneously (the same applies to C).This is how the end result will look like.ps. I need my background to be transparent. I'm embedding it into a web page later.
I can't seem to go to a master edit file that is supposed to show both the body (layer 1) and wing (layer 2) of a flying bird animation. Is there a way to merge these two since I'm planning on shrinking it down and making a lot of birds? He merged the two layers at 14:24 of the video without even explaining how he went to this so called "Edit Master Movie Clip" that seems non-existent on Adobe Flash CS4.
I want to create a simple mask. A white oval on a second layer on top of a bottom layer that just has a word of type. I want the oval to travel from the upper left down to cover up the type. When I create the second layer, create the oval, and choose a distant frame for the "end" of the oval's positioning, my type in the first layer disappears as soon as I press F6 on that second layer. Why? Why is it nuking my first layer?
I have a container MovieClip called Drags where I can drag stamps (other MovieClips)--they are added to the Drags container via addChild. I have a second container MovieClip above that one (display order-wise) call Paint that contains a bmp, and some sprites used for adding a layer of paint.
My question is this: I need to be able to click on the Paint layer when I am above a draggable MovieClip and trigger the MouseEvent for the correct object to drag it around, but the item must always remain below the Paint layer.
I'm trying to do a little comic comedy type video in Flash. I've done an outline sketch with the pen tool of my first character, now I want to color it BUT I want to keep the colors and the outline sketch separated on two different layers. Is there a way I can select the path (outline) on layer A and then colorize it with the bucket tool on layer B? The problem I'm having is that every object I select it automatically jumps to that corresponding layer.
One reason why I want to do it this way is I still want to continue working freely on the outline sketch since it's not fully finished, so that I just can blend the colors out and keep working on the outline, at the same time I want to color it while I go just to see where it's going and to make sure that I'm not wasting my time unnecessarily with trying to do a outline just to find out that it won't work out at the end.
how to do a comic type animation, how to create the characters, how to make them move and talk? It can be a free or paid resource.
I am finding this quite difficult to explain, but I will try my best I currently have this code, which I will explain afterwards
var myMovieClip = new contact_mc(); var myMovieClip2 = new aboutUs_mc(); var myMovieClip3 = new Join(); var myMovieClip4 = new ourWork_mc();
[code]....
See an ideal thing would be having the URLRequest for both swf's at the top of the page, and container_mc.addChild(myLoader); within the functions. I read somewhere that the loader needs to be added straight away otherwise there will be issues with stage references or something.
I want a website to have two independently embedded swf files, the reason being: I want one anchored to the center, and the other anchored to the left side. However, I still want information to be communicated between the two. How could I do this?
Basically I want to have a scrollable map ie. you can grab it with your mouse and move it. Exactly the way google maps works (although I'm not terribly concerned about the inertia effect that google maps has). But I also want to have objects on the map, that when the map is moved, they also move, but I can grab them individually also, and move the objects. Obviously when I nest these objects in the background symbol, they lose their independence and therefore can't be moved separately from the map. And I've been having difficulty making the objects follow the map, while maintaining their own position (they just snap to the maps position).
Currently i m working on a loader.... i want to use this loader on different-different project but every fla file have different frame rate.In that case the animation of the loader is not looking so good.
Now, my problem is that when I move my mouse over one of the object, the other object also reacts. Say I roll my mouse over text2, text1 reacts as if the object too has a mouse over it. Another problem is that only text2 is showing the tween class.
I want these two instances to be independent from each other while at the same time not having to create actionscripts that is exclusively dedicated to each instances (if possible). I want to make sure that if I have the mouse over one of the instance, it will be the only instance to react.
What I want to do is to let each of those three image windows to rotate a set of separate images independently of each other using actionscript. In other words, the image window on the left will be rotating about 5 to 10 images while the image in the middle will do the same but with a different set of images and the same for the image window on the right
I'm trying to control the volume of an flv in a video player I'm making. I want it's volume control to be independent of any other content on the page. The Video object is in a Component if that makes any difference.
I am able to adjust the volume of the root (aka MovieClip(this.parent).soundTransform ) but I cannot do it to the component itself.
I have tried applying the SoundTransform to the component itself (which is not a MovieClip I know), I have tried placing the Video object in a MovieClip inside the component and attempted to adjust the volume that way with no success...(obviously there's a lot more code than this)
Code: _videoDisplay = new Video(); _videoVolume = new SoundTransform(0); // just using 0 so I can tell when it works this.soundTransform = _videoVolume; // *this refering to the component
