View 1 RepliesI'm currently downloading website via an ActionScript HTMLLoader to later have access to the DOM to get some information out of the page. The problem is: each resource that is linked on the page (images, stylesheets, javascript) is also loaded which takes some additional time. I don't really need those resources, because only the plain HTML/DOM is interesting. Is there any way to disable loading of linked resources? At first I tried using an URLLoader and parse the result as XML, but when the website isn't valid this doesn't work. I also didn't find a library that validates/parses a given HTML-string into valid XML.

View 1 RepliesI have a flash musicplayer, that is very simple by itself. it has one button, Start/Stop. The player itself is in footer.
The Problem: when the page loads music won't start (FLASH player won't play) before you don't see it on the page, I mean, when the screen is small by resolution, you don't see the footer - and music doesn't start. when you scroll down to footer (when you see the player) it starts playing.
How should I do that no matter if you see the player or not - the player starts playing.

View 13 RepliesTo display HTML formatted text in an AdvancedDataColumn, I'm using a custom renderer which is an mx:Text object. I'm setting myText.htmlText to something like "test text which is really a lot longer than the column width". No matter what properties I set though, the text just runs off the end of the column. I tried wordWrap="true" on the dataGrid and also on each individual column. I also tried messing with css and tried applying it to the text field, but nothing seems to show up. Any Way to wrap htmlText in a text object? Also, but slightly less important, there are extra blank lines after each tag which I would like to get rid of.

I've got a problem with firefox for mac and z-index.I've got 3 div: header, wrapper and footer; inside of them i've got 3 swf header.swf, wrapper.swf and footer.swf.This is the code:

the problem is that wrapper div dont work good with zindex and cant stay below the header.So rollover and rollout actions doesnt work!
I'm designing a flash website for someone, and he is wondering if there's a way for me to set it up in flash but have the body of the website be in HTML so he could go in at any time and edit the website.This sounded easy enough, but after playing around with things, I'm not sure if it's possible. Is there a way to have flash load an HTML file inside a Flash file when a button is hit, etc?

I've seen somewhere that this is possible through an IFrame, but then you can just rightclick the frame to view the source, and that's not what the client's looking for. I know it's possible to parse simple html tags in Flash in a TextField, such as <b></b> <a href=""></a> etc etc, but what are the restrictions? For example, all css should work, even flash movies inside the html page should work. I think they're asking too much, so what exactly is possible and what's not?

But what if I don't know the name of the HTML page? instead of "iFrame.html" is there a "_self" or "_parent" or external interface call that I can pass into the urlLoader that will get me the container HTML page of the swf?

View 2 RepliesI have a source file (test.fla) in the file i have a symbol called "vrviewer". I am trying to load an HTML page inside the viewer (vrviewer). The html page loads 28.ivp using the supplied ivp player called "pureplayer.swf" (this is called out in HTML (28.html). I would much rather load the ivp file right into flash (if i could) but do not know how to even begin doing that. I tried using the geturl function to call the html file into "vrviewer", but that did not work.

I got success in that but the problem is that when I'm trying to create that object(swf) inside the form tag in html i.e, like <form name = "applicationform" ><object classid = "classid:22d[URL].. and then in the script section I'm calling the method of actionscript then on running the web page I' getting error "object not supported".

View 3 RepliesIn a CS3/As3 project I have xml files with html content loaded in a texfiled inside a mc. In some cases I have swf files embedded with img tag in the xml. The problem is that when a swf is loaded this way It keeps 'living', playing with sounds in the background when other xml files and swf are loaded in the texfiled. Then, every time it is loaded, a new instance of the swf is created and played.I have found out you can refer to the loader object with getImageReference method giving an id to img tag and, for example, adding an Event.COMPLETE listener to the loader. But I don't know how to access to the loaded swf to unload it or at least stop it (mc_name.texfiled_name.swf_id doesn't seem to work in AS3)Does anybody know if it is possible?
