I've got a problem with firefox for mac and z-index.I've got 3 div: header, wrapper and footer; inside of them i've got 3 swf header.swf, wrapper.swf and footer.swf.This is the code:

the problem is that wrapper div dont work good with zindex and cant stay below the header.So rollover and rollout actions doesnt work!
So, for sending to individual streams we have to reference the connected netStream we want to send to in some way like this:
sendStream.peerStreams[0].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);
and I have to determine which peer I'm sending to by their ID such as "peerID1234"
I know that you can check the peerID of the stream by doing:
sendStream.peerStreams[0]["farID"]
how can I make my send stream function know to use the array index where the peerID is?
so basically it could be like:
sendStream.peerStreams[where peerStreams[]["farID"] == peerID].send("MyFunction",param1,param2);
I have a piece of Flash on an HTML page that when you hover over it, it expands out to reveal more information.There are text links that it expands over, however in everything but IE, when it's not expanded those links are still covered by the Flash making them unclickable.I have the Flash piece in a separate DIV wmode set to transparent.

View 3 Repliesgetting a rotating banner I downloaded to actually work on my home page. So I'm using FrontPage 2003. I've got my index page open and I select Insert, Picture, Movie in Flash Format. I browse through my subfolder and select the swf file. But it will not play!However, when I follow the exact same steps, but on a page that is located within the subfolder where all the files are located, the video plays just fine. So I know it probably has something to do with my file path, but I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. My files are located like this:
root -
index.html
subfolder-
(There is the deploy folder which has two subfolders in it - banner and js.)
deploy/
banner/content/images/image1.jpg
banner/content/images/image2.jpg[code]......
I've tried copying and pasting all of the files so they're in the root folder, and then embedding the swf, and it still doesn't work.I've tried editing the banner.xml page and telling all the folder paths to start from the root folder, and that hasn't worked either.
I have a website at link text. I'm having problems with the navigation menu on the left. In the following menu: "Галерия -> Проекти" the submenu that pops up is shown under the flash content, despite of me setting the z-index. This only happens in Chrome and IE. Firefox renders it fine. Does anyone have a solution ?

View 3 Replieswhen I run index.html (loads the swf file) locally, the 'ID' is not changing when i resfresh the window. I clear browsing history and the ID changes when I resfresh. Is there a way to tell my swf file to ignore the browsing history so that it will change the ID number everythime I refresh the swf file? Is it because I'm using a textfiled to display it? this is the fla file the displays the ID

I am using swfin to embed a swf object (video player) and it loads fine in all browsers, but in firefox it won't "start".I have to right click on the movie area and "start" is unchecked so I click on "start" and it will start just fine. Yet, in chrome and IE (haven't moved to a mac for testing yet) it fires up and starts just as I expected. I have tried swfobject instead of swfin and I have IE issues that I couldn't seem to correct. Hence moving to swfin.Here is the swfin code:

actually i have an image gallery in a seperate HTML page, I want to embed it into the main html page containing the menu, but even after using the code <param name="wmode" value="transparent"> or <param name="wmode" value="opaque"> the submenu is still hiding behind the flash. I also tried by changing z-index values, still didn't work.

If I try and fill this form in, it gives me nothing, I got my "Your email failed" message.
However, if I call the swf file - www.kismetroadshow.com/main8.swf and do the same again, it works and I get an email.
I've ruled out the php script therefore.

the button's called sender. It's been doing my head in for 4 days, everytime I think I have it cracked the punter sends it back which is really embarrassing.
I've been struggling to get some absolutely positioned overlays to show above an flv movie(using flowplayer) in the firefox browser(works in safari)I have the overlays div placed underneath the video html "wrapper" and have tried using a high z-index on the overlays but to no avail. Is there anything i may be doing wrong? Or another trick i could try?
View 2 RepliesI have a flash video loading in a modal window. It works in others browsers but not Firefox. Firefox opens the modal window to the correct width of the object, but with no height. I have come to learn that Firefox does not recognize <param> and instead uses the data attribute. However, when I remove this attribute, the modal opens with correct height. Here is the code the modal window loads:

I'm using Flash 10.3 in Firefox 7 and Chrome 14. I have some HTML and Flash content where the Flash, containing complex vector drawings with a transparent background, is layered overtop of the HTML. I use Flashes wmode=transparent setting to allow the HTML content underneath to be seen through Flash.

How can I have a video (or youtube video) play on loading my website with the option to "skip". If the skip video is clicked then that will redirect to the index.html however how can I set it up so that when the Video finishes playing it automatically loads the index.html in the website.
(If the video has to be embedded in the index.html so that the rest of the website is elsewhere that's fine too).
when I compile my action script project in Flash Builder 4 it creates a html wrapper file based on index.template.html in my html-template folder. That file automatically gets the name of my project or main application (project name.html). But usually I want it to have the name index.html

If you go to the about page there is supposed to be a video in the TV that plays, when I use the FTP server to upload the swf and index.html file, where am I supposed to put my video file so flash finds it and it plays? also having the same problem on the portfolio page with my pictures not being there. When I click the small icons on the left, the larger picture is supposed to show up in the right picture frame.

I have audio placed into a controller on a page, however when i load different browsers the sound files are either no even seen by the browser or they dont work. Ive converted the files to wav. which apparently works universally for IE,Opera, Firefox and Chrome, however changing the file format does not change this situation. I know it has something to do with HTML audio tag or something but I am still unsure

I've tryied also many suggestions, and I can't get it right. I need to have my work look like this site [URL] The main flash movie used is 1200 x 626. I've copied the index.html and adjust for [URL] The main flash movie used is 1200 x 600. Is there a way to change the working directory so that index.swf can simply call projects.html, without referencing the projects directory? This is particularly useful bc the text file calls a number of links.
The latest versions of firefox and Safari both cannot display email links. For some reason they don't parse ou the "mailto:".
View 5 Repliesi have created a photo gallery using AS3 in Flash CS5. I have used prevFrame() and nextFrame() actions for "previous photo" and "next photo" buttons as well as for "previous thumbnails" and "next thumbnails" buttons.
All the buttons work fine when i run the swf files as well as when i run the swf files in Firefox 8.0 and IE9. However, once I insert this swf file into my html file using Dreamweaver CS5->Insert->Media->swf, the "previous" buttons dont work in Firefox 8.0! the previous image button works sometimes whereas the previous thumbnails button does not work at all They work fine in IE9. The next buttons also work fine in every browser. Heres my code:

I wrote an flash actionscript 3.0 movie that needs to use netconnection and netstream for streaming. When I test the movie through flash ide the movie connects alright.But when I insert the swf in html and view from firefox, chrome or other browser NetConnection.connect() does not work. Movie sort of hangs at the moment NetConnection.connect is called(). The function assigned to NetStatusEvent is not called and no command after that moment is carried out.It only occurs when viewed through web browser but when it is tested in flash ide it works alright.

However, if shockwave flash turned off in Firefox, it won't fallback into image and show bunch of characters instead looking like "CWS..." All other browsers fallback to the image. I verified that we serve application/x-shockwave-flash MIME type on our server.
