I am trying to display an iframe map MLS real estate search tool inside of a flash site. I am being told that it is impossible to do because its html and flash wont allow it however, nothing is impossible there has to be a way.guide me in the steps to display an iframe inside my swf. Im using AS3 in CS5.

The following script does not generates compiler errors, each function seems to be executed yet the file is not displayed. When trying the same code with myCV.txt and myCV_TA.text = (loader1.data) the text file is displayed OK. Flash MX and actionscript 2.0 had handled that differently but with success?

I want to convert a swf file to HTML, but the swf has some ActionScript (AS3) code inside it that is used to populate the swf. I want to be able to convert this into HTML and use JavaScript to populate the HTML version.
View 1 RepliesI am using a trial version of CS5, and I'm wondering if this is the cause of my issue, but wouldn't think so.I am trying to display a video in a basic HTML file created in Dreamweaver.I am using flash to generate the .swf file to be embedded.I used the media encoder to convert the video file I have from .avi to .f4v.This all seems to work just fine and when I test the html file locally it works.The issue I have is when I load the files on a web server for further testing, it plays the video, but there are no controls visible on the page for the video.As stated above, they display correctly when I run this locally.I have also loaded the skin.swl file on the server in the same location as I have it locally.I have tried everything I can think of to try and can not get the controls to display while deployed on my web server.

The reason i ask is my current project has a rotating + enlarging effect which is largely dynamic so sometimes an object may clip the edge of the stage areathis looks messy but i dont want to increase the stage area to cover the largest possible area any object could enter because most of the time the objects are at the center and small so i would end up with a lot of white space

If I just display regular text it works or if I change the textArea element to a RichEditableText element it works fine. Since this is for a mobile app I would prefer to use the textArea element as recommended by Adobe.Here is the MXML code for the textArea. All I get is the border and no content displayed.

If a user doesn't have FL9, I don't want to prompt an upgrade request - instead, I'd like to have the FL9 swf swap out for a jpeg/gif. He lives in another city so I am sending the html files as test so he can see how things are progressing.We have done this in the past but for some reason he only sees a white and black screen on his end.The only thing that has changed is I have embedded a new font from the text fonts. I have a flash slideshow with 2 divs overlaying it, one at the top and one at the bottom.[code]Both overlay properly in Firefox/Safari/Chrome, but nothing I try seems to make it work in IE. I'm using Remy Sharp's HTML 5 enabling script to make the HTML5 mark-up work in lower versions of IE.What's funny is that the second div, #intro overlays correctly, but #top-menu always appears behind the` slideshow.All 3 elements are absolutely positioned with z-indexes explicitly set. No matter how high or low I set them the flash object is always in front of the #top-menu element.I have checked the rendered <param> tags and one of them lists wmode as transparent.The flash object is dynamically inserted with php through a CMS, so I have no access to the <embed> tag that many have suggested adding the transparent attribute to.

When it shows up in my movie though it doesn't do the table. It just puts it all on one line. I also have my behavior to multiline and my anti-alias is "Use device fonts". I also have the html button checked on my dynamic text box.
Any method of displaying an external HTML file inside flash...???

View 7 RepliesI'm working on writing a new testing utility for my company, and I'm not sure what the correct answer is on this one. Their existing software uses HTML to give and score online tests, and the HTML works with mod_perl and mysql to send and receive the data. I've got the new system 90% functional, except one part.
the questions and answers are stored in the database AS HTML. They are send to the flash movie via loadvars, and I have even gotten them to start displaying. My problems however are that the images do not seem to be loading properly every time, the scrolling of the textarea doesn't seem to work AT ALL, and even when the images do load, they are not lined up properly (adobe says : "An image loaded using the IMG tag will appear on the screen on the line following the IMG tag." Now why the hell would I want it to do that?!?!?!?!)

im trying to use the ExternalInterface to display the test in swf from html.
i use jquery

where #test is the id of the flash movieclip;
in flash.
ExternalInterface.addCallback("sendToFlash", fromJS);
and fromJS just displays the text passed from the html into the textfield.
its working fine in IE, Chrome, Safari but not working on Firefox.
