ActionScript 2.0 :: MX - How To Create Perspective Motion (Text)

View 4 RepliesI know it is very easy. Right click> create motion tween> drag to where I would like the text/object to move. But, Sometimes it doesn't seem to work when I drag the text. It will work the first time and for the second text on the frame it won't work. What are the requirements of a motion tween when it comes to text on a single layer in the same frame.
View 2 RepliesI'm attempting to create a dynamic perspective shadow system in Flash 9 (AS 3) that would have the following constructor:
ActionScript Code:
public function PShadow(mcClipToShadow:MovieClip, nAngle:Number = 45, nDistance:Number = 20, nAlpha:Number = 90, nBlur:Number = 10, nXOffset:Number = 0, nYOffset:Number = 0)
{
//do stuff
}
The function would duplicate the mcClipToShadow MovieClip to use as the base shadow, apply a 100% black tint, set the alpha to nAlpha, and apply a blur filter with Blur X = Blur Y = nBlur. Then a transformation Matrix would be applied that would skew the shadow sprite so that it was cast in the nAngle direction with length nDistance.
The only part that I'm having trouble with is solving the math for the Matrix. I've played a lot with the swf's in your tutorial to better understand how the matrix manipulates things, but I'm still having troubles doing the math properly. My goal is to simply plugin the variables from the constructor into the Matrix constructor and the proper shadow will result.

View 4 Repliesim writing AS3 under linux and as such do not have access to ANY of the fl.* packages, including tweens, motions, special animations and components. I can only use Math.* and XY Grid Coordinates to calculate motion manually.
I can make movement of sprites fairly easily on a coordinate system, but this restricts how the path can go. Usualy only an up,down,left,right movements for the simplest math. I suppose this could be expanded to move in more varied directions but its not quite what im looking for.
I would like to be able to draw an invisible line that a shape can follow. Then it can have curves or bends in it without problem. I want to then start the sprite at the 1st pixel of the line and set its next coorinate based on where the line is at, but at 10px down it (and so on) till it reaches the end of the line. Is it possible because I cant think of a way? Are there any other good PureAs3 motion tutorials around?
I am wondering how to apply perspective to a dynamic/static text field in CS3? I have tried a few ways, but I can't get farther than skewing. This is the pane on which I would like to place the text. Could someone tell me if there is a way to get the same perspective?
View 3 RepliesI want the text to scroll from this point changing perspective along with curve. I know how to do it in AI, PS but without doing like 100 pictures of it slowly moving and putting them in flash like an old style cartoon I have no idea how to do this... Basically when someone rolls over the button I want This to come from nothing and scroll up onto the arc and stay till they roll off... I know how to do the simple button... it's designing a movie clip that does this on an arc that i cannot figure out
View 5 RepliesI'm new to Flash and have a question. I'm creating a Helium atom for my technology class and am trying to get 2 electrons to circle the nucleus. I've successfully created a classic motion path where one electron circles the nucleus. How do I create another (duplicate) motion path for the other.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to create a motion with some buttons. i got 1 movieclip. with 9 squares. and im trying to create a motion loop that keep always changing the alphas of the images.
I tryed to create a Tween and in 1st frame i put the alpha 50% and in the last frame i put the alpha 100%.
I'm trying to create 2 separate motion tweens - between frame 1 to frame 35 and frame 36 to 65 but it just won't work.
From frame 1 I want a motion tween to frame 35. We shall call the graphic in frame 1, graphic 1 and frame 35 graphic 2.
Graphic 3 represents frame 35 and graphic 4, frame 36.
When I make a motion tween from frame 1 to 35, it overwrites graphic 3 and 4 with Graphic 1. It will not allow me to put graphic 3 into frame 35, only graphic 1. If i put it in, it will automatically swap.
When I make a motion tween from frame 36 to 65, it works. But then when I try to make the motion tween from frame 1 to 35, it swaps it over.
I created a motion preset of a 3D text animation that made the text swing back and forth like a gate with the hinge on the far left side. However, when I apply the motion preset to other text, the text moves to a new location and the text swings closer to the center than the far left side. Moving the text only creates a travel path that further complicates matters.
what am I doing wrong with the motion preset? How can I save something into a preset and apply it to other things and have the animation work the way it was designed?
Is it just me or is creating and applying custom easing with the motion editor absurdly difficult? Firstly, the bezier curve tool for custom easing has a mind of its own. It will change the curve at a different anchor point to the one you're editing on a whim and every time you get close to where you want the curve it does it again and you're back to square one. Second, you have to recreate a custom ease for every tween as there's no way to save them. It's impossible to create two custom eases exactly the same! The entire motion editor seems designed to infuriate me and parts of it don't seem to have been tested at all.
View 15 RepliesI'm just learning the software and haven't been able to figure this out. I'm trying to create an historic timeline for our company and am using 20 jpg images, which I placed on separate layers and then converted each jpg to a symbol and motion tweened to go across the screen. The problem is that there is a gap between the frames when they play as a movie and I don't know how to get rid of that so that they flow continuously across the screen from left to right seamlessly.
View 5 RepliesI have no problem creating shape tweens in Flash CS4, but motion tweens are a problem. Here's what I do:
- I draw a rectangle and convert it to a symbol on frame 1.
- I create a key frame on frame 25, where I place the symbol in a different position.
- On frame 1 I create a motion tween.
When I run this nothing happens until frame 24, and on 25 the symbol appears on its final position. I can do the movement with a shape tween, but I want to do it with a motion tween, as this may be a question at the exam next week.
I have already created an animattion of a bird flapping its wings. I want to include this within another animation of it flying around as well as flapping wings and wondering how this can be done. I tried to import it as both a gif image and swf movie and although it holds the original animation I cannot add the motion tween to draw the flying path.

View 1 Replieshow to create a motion blur during a tween?
I dont have any examples now, but you know when you tween a movieclip across the stage (changing its x and y properites) and then according to speed of a movieclip a blur effect is applied?
How do you create a motion tween when I insert keyframe in frame 28 then I click on the object and create motion tween but when i click in 60 to insert keyframe I get opition of position, scale, skew, rotate ect. I just want to insert keyframe. What am I doing wrong?
View 4 RepliesI want to do effect on spinning of images?so that is possible or not?
View 2 RepliesBasically, I created an image and converted it to a movie clip. Inside of this movie clip, I create a new layer and I give both layers 70 frames. On the top layer, I then draw a path, right click on the layer, and choose guide. I then drag and drop the bottom layer, which represents my movie clip, under the guide layer. The next step is to right click on the bottom layer, my object layer, and choose create motion tween. This for me however is blocked out, and my only option is to create a classic tween.
Just as a note, I am using CS5 and the tutorial I am following looks to be using an older version. Additionally, they don't right click on the layer and choose motion tween. They select the layer and from like their properties panel, they have a tween option, and from the drop down, they choose motion. I cannot find this option box in my interface however. Is there any logical reason why it wont allow me to do a motion tween?
Is there any ways to create a slow motion tween within a limited keyframe?
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a flash animation of a wing flapping using three keyframes. The first keyframe is at frame 1. I then created a second keyframe at frame 5 by pressing F6, and then I created another keyframe at frame 10 by pressing F6. At frame 5, I rotated the wing so that it is going up. Frame 10 is the same as frame 1.frame 1: frame 5: frame 10: I right clicked on a frame between frames 5 and 10 and then clicked the first optio , "Create Motion Tween"; I then performed the same action on a frame between frames 1 and 5. When I preview or test the movie, there is no transition between the frames. From frame 1 to 5, there is supposed to be a transition of the wing flapping up. From frame 5 to 10, there is supposed to be a transition of the wing flapping downwards to its initial position. Instead, when I test the movie, the wing remains still until frame 5 and instantly goes to its "wing up state" and when it gets to frame 10, instantly goes to its "wing down state". Here is what the timeline looks like after I've made the changes mentioned above:
I'm using Flash CS4 to make the animation but the tutorial I'm following is using Flash CS3. I know I can use other methods to create the motion tween but I want to know why the method I'm using isn't working.
I want to create motion tween between two points of object.
example:
startingpoint100,100);
destn point200,300);
There has to be a way to create a motion blur effect using script. Every tutorial I find uses Photoshop blurring of a bitmap. I want to leave this item as a vector in flash and create a speeding up and highg speed motion effect.
View 4 RepliesI have multiple movieclips on my stage. Im bringing in figures from a xml file which i will used as my movieclip._y positions. So as the figures change in the xml file, my movie clips should hopefully float up and down.
I have assigned them a starting position, bring in the first array of positions and they float there nice. When i bring in their next aray of position they jump back to their first position then float to their second new position?
i heard that it there is an easy way to create motion blur by duplicating the symbol juz wonderin if there is already a current tutorial about that or if u's cood go further indepth wit that?
View 3 RepliesHopefully someone can give me a hand with this.I'm trying to create motion using scripting instead of a guide path or tweening event which should occur like this:Stage default size (550x400)Instance of a ball (in a movie)Ball starts on top left corner of stage then travels to top right, then travels to lower right, then travels to lower left, then travels to top left, then repeats.Basically the ball should just travel clockwise around the inside border of the stage.The script I'm trying to setup is based on three frames.
First frame:
_x=30;
_y=30;
xspeed=20;
yspeed=20;
[code]....
After this I seem to just run into problems. Each time I try and set the logic for the ball to change direction and head back to the left once it reaches the bottom of the stage it either just stops, or bounces slightly back and forth in the lower right hand corner.
What would be a good way to create a sin wave motion using the math, not tween, class? In maya it was quite simple with sin(value) but I can't seem to get a decent undulation out of Flash. The case I'm working on is a bubble generator, you know, just for kicks. That fish tank screen saver has the bubbles moving in a sin wave it seems, looks like it works well enough.

View 4 Replieswhether it is possible to automatically create a motion tween of a black circle that would result in an animated drawing of a line? The circle should not only move but also leave its own copy at each frame of its route.
