I'm trying to make a movie clip play with an off-screen button that activates it by using a key. The instance name for the movie clip is "leftbuzzerlights" and the key that's supposed to play the clip is the letter "Z". Here's the code:

I'm making a Flash piano for a school project and I've got everything working perfectly except for the keystrokes.The piano keys are button symbols.When I click on the C button on the virtual piano, it plays a C note and presses down the button.When I press the "a" key on my keyboard, it plays a C note but doesn't press down the button.How can I get it to look like the mouse clicked it when I press "a"? I am attempting to create an interactive piano. Right now, I have my keys layed out and each key is a button. On the down frame of that button is where the sound plays. What I want to do now is to allow the user to press a button and when they do so, the down frame of that button will trigger, thus playing the sound.

[code]It works fine when I press the button but not when I press the enter key.Just to set the context I want users to be able to use enter to enter an answer into a grid before moving on to the next cell. My cells are all labelled A1, A2 etc so that I didn't get confused. As I am and will always be a newbie I couldn't figure out a function to do what I wanted so came up with what is probably a long winded way around: store the textfield instance name in an array and then call the item in the array in conjunction with setFocus - like I say it works when I click the button (which I intend to hide off screen).

View 11 RepliesRight now in my project I have a main SWF that loads an external SWF that contains a youtube chromeless player. My issue right now is that the main+loaded swf are embedded in HTML and there is an effect on the site that moves the flash. I have the video controls in html/javascript but since I can't externally call fullscreen unless its a flash button the controls have a "hole" in the bar to allow a button in flash to poke through for fullscreen. Issue is that when the flash moves, so does the fullscreen button. Basically can a separate embedded flash swf just act as a fullscreen button for another embedded flash object?
View 2 RepliesMy move is getting dynamically resized to whatever the computer's screen resolution is set. I'm placing a button in the lower left hand corner that always needs to be flush left and bottom. Now on my computer, I can get it there just by putting in

Clearly, this bit of code will only work for my computer's resolution: 1440x900. I've tested it on other machines and if they, too, have 8:5 ratio like mine, they look pretty good. Not so much on a say, 4:3 ratio display. I know I need to get the aspect ratio and then place my minimize btn's y coordinate.
One thing I'm not clear on: why I set my button to x=0; and it will sit flush left, but won't place my button in the right spot with:

So basically if the left key was the last key press I want it to go to frame "Left", if right key was the last, go to frame "Right," etc. I'm completely lost on this one and every tutorial I come across is based in AS2 which has much simpler methods than AS3.

I've made a popup div that shows a video if you press a button. If you press Esc, the div is hidden again and the video is removed. (Using JWPlayer in Flash.)
If you click on the JWPlayer video, Flash gets the focus and JavaScript can't listen for keypresses on the document anymore. Is it possible to make JavaScript get the focus after you've interacted with the JWPlayer video player, so that you can still press the Esc button after for example pausing the video?
I have a flash file that loads an external flv file and cuepoints through an XML. The cuepoints trigger a dynamic button with text field to appear for about 5 seconds on the stage. When clicked the button changes its message to "You clicked button 1". This works without a problem in normal mode, but in Full_Screen the event for the dynamic button doesnt trigger. All the other static buttons work without a problem. Static buttons include play, pause, and full screen.[code]

View 3 RepliesI am making a flash presentation I have buttons on the top presentation that will navigate to differnt slides.The question i have is for each button I have the behaviors set to show the screen I want and hide all of the other screens.I have to go to each button and do a hide each screen one by one, I have about 40 of them. Is there a easy way to do that in bulk. I.E. If i have button 1 I want it to show only screen 1 and hide screens 2-40. Button 2 will show only screen 2 and hide screens 1, 3-40
