ActionScript 1/2 :: Button 'Down' Frame On KeyPress?

I'm making a Flash piano for a school project and I've got everything working perfectly except for the keystrokes.The piano keys are button symbols.When I click on the C button on the virtual piano, it plays a C note and presses down the button.When I press the "a" key on my keyboard, it plays a C note but doesn't press down the button.How can I get it to look like the mouse clicked it when I press "a"? I am attempting to create an interactive piano. Right now, I have my keys layed out and each key is a button. On the down frame of that button is where the sound plays. What I want to do now is to allow the user to press a button and when they do so, the down frame of that button will trigger, thus playing the sound.
I'm working on the timeline and have movieclips on each frame. Each movieclip should play completely before moving to next frame. Once the movieclip is completed playing, I'd like to set up a keyboard event that allows for movie to go to next frame onKeyUp.This is the code I have but it's not working ... I'm getting jumbled results. I know this should be simple enough, but oh well.

I'm trying to do something like this, but keyRelease doesn't exist I think. on (keyRelease "<Right>") { nextFrame(); } I just want it to go to the next frame on the time line when the right key is released.
I need to create a simple presentation that displays a bunch of photos.I want to be able to hit the space bar to advance to next picture.I am able to stop the playhead at the picture, but i want to advance to next labelled frame by hitting the space bar.
I'm trying to make a movie clip play with an off-screen button that activates it by using a key. The instance name for the movie clip is "leftbuzzerlights" and the key that's supposed to play the clip is the letter "Z". Here's the code:

I've got this piece of code which is basically a start button that reacts to being clicked on. I'd like to change that into starting the function by pressing Enter on the keyboard. I'm having trouble figuring it out since the code is already in a function. How do I make it react to keypresses?
[code]It works fine when I press the button but not when I press the enter key.Just to set the context I want users to be able to use enter to enter an answer into a grid before moving on to the next cell. My cells are all labelled A1, A2 etc so that I didn't get confused. As I am and will always be a newbie I couldn't figure out a function to do what I wanted so came up with what is probably a long winded way around: store the textfield instance name in an array and then call the item in the array in conjunction with setFocus - like I say it works when I click the button (which I intend to hide off screen).
I want to make a button that makes you got to a random frame within a certain range (eg frame 41-50) when you press it. I have tried various codes but so far no luck. Im using AS 2 and the button is within a couple of movie clips, but you can still click it when you test
I have a character, And in its movieclip I`ve got 3 frames (first has an idle pose, second a walking pose and third a running pose), each with a movieclip with an action in it.Well, what I wanted is that when I am walking with this character, and press the SHIFT key he runs.And I`ve got the following code

But when I click the shift button, he shows the first frame static of the movie clip in frame 3 (running frame).
there is a button on 1st frame. there is a movie clip on frame 2. I named the movie clip as "ball_mc" I want to go to frame 2 when I click on button on 1st frame. I know that the code "gotoAndPlay(2);" on button will work. But for some reasons, i want to try another way.... i tried several codes:
I have 5 different buttons for the navigation on my flash website.The first page is on frame one.When you click on any of the 5 buttons I want it to play frames 10 - 15 before moving to which ever frame the button 1-5 corresponds to. So:
Click on button 1 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 20 Click on button 2 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 30 Click on button 3 > plays frames 10 - 15 > Goes to frame 40 etc
I built a button in one of the movie clips in my project,
when I release this button, it goes to the 41st frame of the main timeline and continue to play until the frame 70 which has got a stop; command. till here everything's just OK. But I want this button to do something more though I don't know whether it's possible or not.
I want this button to go and play the frame number 41 in the main timeline, and then after it stopped at the frame 70 , then jump to frame 73.
I've been following the book "Beggining Flash Programing for Dummies" and I have come up to a part where I create a very simple game. The script involved in the frames are FRAME here:
I have a small flash site made up of a number of pages all on the one timeline.
The query is this. When i release a button i want the timeline to roll on for x frames (fading components out) before going to the frame that button links to (The beginning of the new page).
I have no idea what AS to use for this.
No matter where in the timeline you are, the button should fade out that area and then skip to a new one.
I have a problem where I have declared an onRollOver event handler on frame 5. I also have a button on frame 4 telling flash to go to frame 5.But, if the mouse is already over the movieclip on frame 5, the rollover event will not play.Is there a way to force this onRollOver or another workaround for this?
I am making a website with a flash menu. I want it to gotoAndPlay a particular frame (frame A) when the cursor is on a button. When you roll the cursor off of the button I want it to gotoAndPlay a different frame (frame B). That part was easy enough. But here is the problem. If you click on the button I want it to continue playing frame A even when you roll off.
I have created a racing game and over all i got 3 frames and about 10 main layers Anyway, i have tried so many scripts now and they're not working The game begins on frame 2 while the main menu is on frame 1. Not sure if it matters but i have the menu copied on all the frame 1's of all the layers...

What I'm trying to do is play 5 frames all attached with short audio wav files one right after another. I want to be able to press play for each frame.When I insert either of these codes:

The video goes straight to playing the frame 1 wav sound file I have there, then when I press the button it rushes through the rest of the sound files in the rest of the frames and starts back at frame 1.Am I missing a code that I need to insert into the other frames, or am I using the wrong coding?
Anyway what I need to do is have a movie clip finish playing when a button is clicked and then go to the frame label associated with the button. I hope I'm explaining myself ok. So if I had say 4 buttons Home Gallery About Contact If Contact is clicked then I want the Home page to play (Which is a fade out) and then go to Contact Page (which will fade in). Then If Gallery is clicked then I want Contact to fade out and then go to Gallery page and fade in.
How do I link a button thats embedded in frame 2 (music page timeline) to a frame in the main timeline ( frame 3= biography page)? Both pages are on the same scene with link buttons embedded in each page independent timeline.
I have three buttons, btn_1,btn_2,btn_3, and two movie clips, image_1,image_2. The names listed btn_1,btn_2,btn_3, image_1,image_2. are all instance names. All buttons and movie clips are on their own layer in a single frame on the main time line. the movie clips have a stop action on the first and last frame, with a frame label, on the first frame in the sub time line. For image_1 the frame label is image_1_1 and for image_2 the frame label is image_2_1.
I would like btn_1 and btn_2 to control the movie clips, image_1,image_2. Either button should be able to close the other buttons movie clip and play it's own movie clip. Also i am trying to make the movie clips themselves have the ability to be closed by clicking on the movie clip image area that is playing. Both movie clips when not playing hide behind the appropriate button with an alfa of 0.
When playing they expand to the middle of the window and are at 100% alfa, using a tween. The third button, btn_3 should only be visible when one or the other movie clisp are playing. btn_3 dose nothing else but this for now. As of now, my movies continuously loop and btn_3 is always visible. I can't seem to figure this out. my code for this action is:
If I have an input text field on frame 1 and I enter text in it then I have a button that say sends me to frame 2. On frame 2 I have a button which sends me back to frame 1. Why when I got back to frame 1 is my text not shown?Why does an input text field go blank when leaving the frame? How can I make it so when i enter text on frame 1 and then go to frame 2 and then back to frame 1 the text i entered is still there?
