I'm developing an application for use on a tablet PC where the user has the option to make multiple selections with a List Component. I need the ability to simulate the CTRL key being pressed since the keyboard will most likely not be available so the user can select and de-select items from the list. I will most be attaching the code to a button that will open the List component.
View 1 RepliesI'm making a screensaver which includes a game, when the .swf file is converted to screensaver format the only way to exit is to press Escape.
I was wondering if there is any way to simulate a keypress (Escape) when the user clicks a button so that I can also have Exit buttons?
I've been working on a sniper game which is coming out terrific. But to make it better, I need to get this Zoom to work. What I'm trying to do is whenever SPACE is held down it will seem as I am zooming into the background, and whenever its released it will go back to its original zoom.
I've tried _x & _y scaling but I dont know what I'm doing wrong.
I have my scope's instance name as "scope", and the background as "bg1".
I'm trying to make a movie clip play with an off-screen button that activates it by using a key. The instance name for the movie clip is "leftbuzzerlights" and the key that's supposed to play the clip is the letter "Z". Here's the code:
ActionScript Code:
on (keyPress "z") {
leftbuzzerlights.play();

I've searched this and cannot find it. I've tried different plugins and different browsers (Firefox, Opera, and Chrome). I've tried most of the no flash plugins for each of those as well as disabling Flash plugins/addons in the settings. I also renamed the .so file in /usr/lib/flashplugin-installer/ i found by searching the system. when i renamed it, makes Firefox and Chrome ask to install Flash, but still:alert(navigator.mimeTypes['application/x-shockwave-flash'].type);returns:application/x-shockwave-flash'm not sure what else to try without uninstalling Flash, but that will be a total pain in the ass for this. I also REALLY don't want to use SWFObject just to see if Flash is at all installed which I can do simply with:

Question: Is it possible to simulate a mouse click on a button/movie clip in a Flash object embedded in a web page? Googling only shows ways to simulate a mouse click on a DOM element, and ways that require the ActionScript to be changed to implement a JavaScript interface. Or is this simply impossible?
Our sales people accepted flash banners without a click tag and then scream in anger when our ads server (openx) didn't count correctly the clicks. I'm looking if exists some way of "simulate" a click tag, I don't know exactly how, maybe with some JavaScript.
View 2 RepliesI'm aware of the .click() method but the click must be on a prezi loaded (flash) so don't really have a html element to use.
What I have instead are the exactly coordinates of the place I want to simulate click on. Is there any way I can do that?
The click must activate a flash element. (A play button)
Note: There is a similar question around that have an answer witch require swf control. I don't have that so that method is not applicable.
One other quick question... what happens if I simulate a click on an element that has display: none. It click on the elements "under" it? (as a normal click would do; and yes I know this sounds funny but I don't know how to explain it otherwise). If yes I was thinking of making a position absolute div, put it on top of flash and use .click(). The problem is that i have a feeling that the click won't be applied on flash.
This is somehow a combination of javascript simulate mouse click on specific position and mouse click somewhere else on page (not on a specific div).
Is there an existing javascript library for relaying key press events in the browser (or certain divs) into flash? I am hoping there might be a library kind of like this one for mousewheel events?Something like this handles javascript keyboard shortcuts great. I suppose I could just listen for those events and pass the ones I want into flash?These are great examples, however, if flash has focus, then javascript keystrokes are lost. How can you ensure that all key events go through javascript?
View 4 RepliesI followed a tutorial on gotoandlearn.com and followed it to a "T," yet cannot troubleshoot this myself. I built a simple preloader in AS2, but when I simulate the download for a Flash website in Adobe Flash CS4, all I see is a white screen, then it continues to the website. I previewed the bandwidth profile and I can see that it's working it's preloading magic; I just can't see the animation.
I looked through numerous forums and I am not using an components that are exported to the first frame -- at least that I know of. Has anyone experienced the same issue?

I created a rigged character in Flash Prof. CS 5.5 that has a mouth that moves when the user types letters. Is there any way I can insert a line of code that will simulate the user hitting a key and thus trigger the functions that I have already written?
View 7 RepliesI listen to internet radio at [URL] and it works pretty well, except for one minor issue. The Flash applet that runs the radio player has a timer on it, where if you don't move the mouse over the player every once in a while, it decides you're idle and shuts off the stream, even if you're not actually idle, but just working on something else with the radio player running in the background.
Is there any way I can send a fake MouseOver message to this applet to keep it from cutting me off in the middle of a song, maybe with a GreaseMonkey script? I'm using Firefox.
i want to user print screen command in AS3 and convert into bitmap as background in fullscreen i.e.
print screen from keyboard - keycode i.e. 44 [URL]
i want to know how can i run printscreen code from flash to capture user screen as i want to have flash presentation in 600x600px with disabled desktop and flash presentation should be in center of screen.

I'm in the process of planning out my web portfolio website. The situation at hand right now is learning how to do a zoom tween via actionscript. I want to learn more actionscript tweens and get away from tweening using keyframes/frames - as this creates Huge file sizes. So I'm trying to be more efficent and keep file sizes down. Basic idea is I have a background image with 3keypoints (movieClips) that the user can click on. Once you click on these the camera will zoom and pin-point whatever movieClip has been selected.
Here's what I've been able to see so far. By applying this script to each separate movieClip it zooms in on the image or particular part of that image correct? How would I modify this so that it zooms when the user clicks the appropriate movieClip. I got this from from here and I have also seen and read the Kirupa Tutorial about the starfield/racecar game etc. But it doesn't sink in without examples right in front of my face. And to reverse the zoom when the user wants to (un)zoom back out would I switch the
_xscale = _yscale += speed;
to
_xscale = _yscale -= speed; ??
onClipEvent (load) {
speed = 2; //speed of the zoom
} onClipEvent (enterFrame) {
_xscale = _yscale += speed;
//does the zoom
_x -= 1;
_y += 2.5;
//this moves the movieClip down and to the left so it leaves the screen entirely
}
Does anyone know a way in code to zoom in a section of the screen like looking through a scope?i want to add this to my game:URL...
View 1 RepliesI made an animation and I would like to zoom in and out on a section of the screen with a button. Or a make a magnifying glass effect in a certen area. Is there a way I can do this with code or do I have to re-animate that part bigger?
View 1 RepliesI have flash component in a website, which shows a preview. There are some UI components overlaid on the preview to allow navigation. Unfortunately it seems that in Safari on Macs, there is a problem:When the user zooms in or out (using the browser based page zoom), my overlaid UI items disappear for some reason. This does not happen on any other platform.I would have though that this zoom function would be something that is taken care of solely by the browser/Flash plugin, however, perhaps there is something I can do to force a 'redraw'?
View 2 RepliesI've been working creating an interactive display map for a client. I've figured out the controls I'd like to use for moving the map, but I'm having trouble with the zooming features. What I'd like to do is have the user click on the "+" button to zoom in and the "-" button to zoom out. The problem is the map is not centered when the user clicks either button?
View 3 RepliesI have a map that uses a control to zoom in on it, but when it zooms it always uses the registration point to scale the image(map). This registration point is always located at the center of the image(map). There are 4 stages of zoom and each one then re-zooms at the center of the image(map).
I need this to zoom relative to the center of the users viewport area.
I am not able to attach the file here due to it being over 500K, it is 1.54MB, so have uploaded the CS3/AS2 file here: [URL]
I'm trying to make a custom button in flash, which when clicked, will open a URL in a new tab/window, WITHOUT stealing focus from the current Flash tab/window.
The classic navigateToURL(request, "_blank"); will open the new tab, but also bring it up. I want it to stay away minding it's own business, just as if I had middle-clicked on a link on a HTML page.
I would at least want the user to be able to see a short tween of the currently clicked thumbnail moving and fading to the upper-right corner of the gallery, to symbolize the fact that it's opening in a new tab. This isn't possible because as soon as you click, the new tab steals focus, and leaves my flash thumbnail stuck in the onhover state and the tween over. Delaying the click action, will trigger the popup blocker.
Could it perhaps be possibru to load the target page somehow in the background and display the tab when the loading is complete? (so you won't have to stay and look at it while the images download) How about a background worker from HTML5? - haven't looked much into those yet. Would probably still trigger the popup blocker.
I'm trying to achieve a simplified version of the move to screen area and zoom nav similar to: [URL]. I've read and completed the macromedia tweening tutorials [URL] and gained overview of tween class etc., So, I created an example (credit :sophistikat) using the macromedia tween class:
Code:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
myBtn.onRelease = function () {
//first move to center in one second witih no delay
main_mc.tween("_x", 50, 1, "easeinoutElastic");
main_mc.tween("_y", 50, 1, "easeinoutElastic");
// and in 2 seconds scale closer
main_mc.tween("_xscale", 150, 1, "easeinoutElastic", 2, true);
main_mc.tween("_yscale", 150, 1, "easeinoutElastic", 2, true);
}
The script in layer 1, the bt in layer 2 and the main_mc in layer 3 - all correctly 'instanced'. But not working - the main_mc isn't moving and then zooming in when btn is clicked.
I have a flash application written in actionscript 2.0 that shows vector architectural maps and works perfectly on common web browsers. There are many interactions with javascript functions called by user events on the webpage, such as zooming to a certain x,y point. This event is usually accomplished via the mouse wheel.
Now I have to make sure that the thing works on tablet pc, in particular the Galaxy Tab. The first thing I have to fix is that, obviously, there is no mouse wheel and the user naturally tries to pinch zoom the flash application, with the result of zooming the entire web browser.
What I need is to listen to the multitouch gesture and, when a pinch zoom event is called, disable the default zooming event and call a javascript/flash function that allows my flash app to zoom only the objects that need to be zoomed: in few words, the browser stays still and only a part of the flash zooms in or out.
I already have working javascript functions to call flash object functions for the zooming purpose, so I just need to connect them to some android things that tell me when the user tries to pinch zoom in and when he tries to pinch zoom out (and possibly the x,y point of zoom).
// for Full Screen stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.FULL_SCREEN;// for the normal screen stage.displayState = StageDisplayState.NORMAL;But this code does not fulfill my requirement. I need Vertical Scroll Bar, even I go to the FullScreen, but I don't find any Scroll with this code.Even I tried "window.open" of JavaScript with ExternalInterface, but I couldnot succeed.
View 2 RepliesI have an animation of a ball that I want to enter the user's screen (browser window). Basically,it would be off-screen for a few seconds, and then enter from the left, and stopping in the middle.
View 4 Repliestutorial where when you click on a movie clip it moves to a certain location on the page and then zoom in and makes it a certain size. Also i want it to move back to its original location if you click it again.I want the move and zoom to be smooth so the users can see it move across the screen then gradually get bigger.

A long shot, but anyway....is there an actionscript that can detect user screen resolution and then open a page accordingly?
