ActionScript 2.0 :: Passing Params From HTML To Flash?

I have a flash banner and embedded the flash swf the usual way. The flash banner has an xml file that loads in images.when published it views and works fine. But when I incorporate into my site it doesnt load the xml file. I believe it is because on the site i have friendly URLS. so when you are on the home page it looks for the file in home/images.xml.when you are in about page, it looks for the file at about/images.xml.I believe that i have to pass a param giving the absolute path to the flash file so that it loads.

I have a map of the US acquired from here (called U.S. Map). I am currently generating XML from inside an ActionScript file, and would then like to display this map using my generated XML as the argument. For example: I have a function with MouseEvent.CLICK.Well.. Then I have two another functions with CLICK functionality too and I would like to pass params from these two functions to the first (and main) one.I am asking it because i am projecting a webpage which contains 3 buttons and two arrows.The 3 buttons functionality is done, it works perfect. But when I try to pass the actions triggered on the MAIN function (3 buttons) to the arrows functions (next and previous) I don't have NO IDEA how build it.

I have a parent swf that loads a child swf and attempts to pass some data into the child.
The process works fine if parent and child are located in the same domain (lets say domainA.com).
As soon as I place the child swf into domainB.com and try to load it, it will load in the parent, but it is not loading the values.
Crossdomain policies are in place (the child does load!), but the params are not sent.[code]...

I have a html/flash site now, [URL]. i access email from my site itself by giving the userid and pwd text box which i copied from the actual website hosting my email access. i copied the entire <form...></form> tag to my page and thus was able to put the name and pwd in my home page only and access the email in a separate window. now i have redesigned my webpage using only flash. i would like to know how i can implement the same using flash. as i have not much experience using action scripting i am a bit stuck about how you pass the hidden form variables. the below is the the exact form syntax:

I have a rather simple flash application users can make a quick username when connected, and the username is created inside the flash swf.
Now, I have a cron job deleting inactive usernames every ten minutes (on my mysql database where these usernames are all stored and accessed by the other people online) which is fine. But it can still get cluttered up if a bunch of people sign off at once, there is still that 10 minute window before the cron job clears them.
The users have an option to click log out in the flash application which is fine and works great. But of course many choose not to click log off they just click the browser x.
I've looked into onbeforeunload and jquery's .unload but I still need a way to get the username variable that's IN flash INTO the HTML, then use a php script to run the delete username mysql query.
If not, any insight on how I might pass the username variable to the html to hold onto it after the user makes their username so it can be involved with the .unload function running the php script?
EDIT::::: Maybe is there a way to create a UNIQUE string of numbers with php then pass that var to flash to include with the mysql row then since i already have that var since it was created on the html side, just along with the unload, have it delete the row that has that unique id?
If anyone things this idea would be the best approach, and if i used something like md5(uniqid(microtime()) . $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR'] . $_SERVER['HTTP_USER_AGENT']) to make a random iD how could i go about storing the result in a var i could place in the flash vars param then again in the jquery unload or javascript onbeforeunload if that would be better .

I know this should be very simple, but in following the examples I can find on passing parameters from HTML to my Flash App I have not been successful. I would like to find a relatively current example using AS3, Flash CS4. I need to pass the url of an XML file off to the flash app so that it can go pick up instructions on what it is supposed to be playing. We want to do it this way because we don't control the web site so we can't just leave the XML file on the server and maintain it as needed.

I am working on creating a Flash menu that, depending on the page calling the swf file, will show a specific frame just for that page. It works almost perfectly except for the very first time you access the swf during a given browser session. If you refresh the browser window, it will start working just fine after that as long as you stay in that same window.Incidentally, this is only for IE. It won't work at all in Firefox. I know this is pretty simple but all that I have read doesn't make much sense to me. I have one swf calling another swf that I have embedded into an htnl. In other words just calling another html page in a seperate window. In one.swf (runing in broswer) I use the below to call another html page passing the variable NewLessonArray. This contains an array of completed chapters.

All that is returned that I can see is object Object. But since I am passing on a address line into another swf embedded in a html page I am unable to determine that correct syntac for retrieving the information.

An AIR application that load an html page which contain some forms. I want to pass values from flash to html and then submit data. Don't suggest other possible variants, i have experience using URLLoader, amfphp, blazeds e.t.c. Idea it's to pass that from flash to html form, and then submit that information to server using html page. How can be do that? Or maybe in an web application (not desktop)?

I want to have links on several pages of my website which, when clicked, take the user to an html page called "portfolio.htm" which has a flash portfolio on it. This portfolio is set up with a series of buttons which load external .swf files for each project. How do I tell flash which .swf to load when the flash file opens.
ex: user clicks on "project x" on a web page called print.htm. The user should then be taken to portfolio.htm where a flash file resides and loads "project x" into a movie clip called "content_mc".
All the other posts I've read make reference to PHP. Is it neccesary to use PHP, or can I achieve this without PHP?

I have a very classic website with Flash built menu and HTML content. Now what I need is the menu buttons( which are Movie Clips actually) to maintain in their pressed position when a particular button from menu is pressed (which actually I did inside flash, but everytime new hyperlink is followed, the website is refreshed and new SWF loaded without button being pressed obviously).
I know this can be done either by Frames which I do not want or passing an argument in URL string from HTML when we call for an SWF object.
Sounds great, but I how do I pass different arguments to several menu pages, when i have only one SWF object and therefore only one hard-coded place of data or value where i can pass the argument in string ?
Do I need to divide my flash object to as many swf's as i need buttons and links ?

1: I have two swf : a.swf n b.swf
2: I can't do any coding on a.swf but I can code on b.swf
3: b.swf loads a.swf
4: a.swf takes some params from html
5: Since b.swf now loads a.swf,how can I set loaderinfo params of a.swf from b.swf?
So is there any way I can set loaderinfo params from loading swf to the loaded swf.

is it possiable to make a condition in the flash params like wmode = transparent, but I want to do something like playback = "option1" then in the flash file it will play the frame label "option1" and so on, so i could use the same flash on multiable pages in differnt states.

anyone knows how to pass an array values from an HTML into flash? Well, to begin I'll discuss what am I doing. I edited a twitter widget javascript which search tweets based on the hashtag I needed then passing it on an array per tweet and then displaying it using a <div> it updates once every 5 minutes. Now I want to display those tweets on a dynamic text on Flash. Let's say I will have 5 dynamic text placed on my flash file then; I want each of those dynamic text to have the tweets I have based on on my HTML arrays to be displayed in random.
