Javascript :: Passing An Array Values From Html Into Flash Array?
Oct 20, 2011
anyone knows how to pass an array values from an HTML into flash? Well, to begin I'll discuss what am I doing. I edited a twitter widget javascript which search tweets based on the hashtag I needed then passing it on an array per tweet and then displaying it using a <div> it updates once every 5 minutes. Now I want to display those tweets on a dynamic text on Flash. Let's say I will have 5 dynamic text placed on my flash file then; I want each of those dynamic text to have the tweets I have based on on my HTML arrays to be displayed in random.
i have developed a flash website, just user interface, now i have a contact form in my swf file . can anyone help me in embedding this swf file in html and getting values out of swf file on html page and printing on another html page, i just need help in getting values and out of swf file to html.
Passing a JavaScript array to Flash?I want to pass an Array from JavaScript to a Flash movie. My goal is to create an Array of URLs to pass to Flash and once the Array is in Flash, I can access those URLs in the movie.I know how to send a variable to Flash using the "Embed" and "Object" tags using "FlashVars".
<PARAM name=FlashVars VALUE="song=song_URL">
but I want to somehow send and array, or maybe can I call a function that creates the Array I want to send?My reason is to have an HTML developer come back and change the Array values and that will change the Flash Array, so they don't have to edit the Flash movie.
I have an array (say 'origA') which contains 20 values and also another array (say "itemA" with only 1 value in it. I need to push any 10 random values of "origA" into "itemA". But i cannot push a same value which is already pushed into "itemA".
Our web application has a feature which uses Flash (AS3) to take photos using the user's web cam, then passes the resulting byte array to PHP where it is reconstructed and saved on the server. However, we need to be able to take this web application offline, and we have chosen Gears to do so. The user takes the app offline, performs his tasks, then when he's reconnected to the server, we "sync" the data back with our central database.
We don't have PHP to interact with Flash anymore, but we still need to allow users to take and save photos. We don't know how to save a JPG that Flash creates in a local database. Our hope was that we could save the byte array, a serialized string, or somehow actually persist the object itself, then pass it back to either PHP or Flash (and then PHP) to recreate the JPG. We have tried:
and i want to show these values on the Yaxis and months on Xaxis....
I have two Qns,
1) how can I pass this array to Bar chart or column chart.
2) how do I need to show months on Xaxis. beacuse I'm asking this regarding, I have kept a filters that even if we want to see some months or a particular months or perticalar span of months... there on Xaxis it need to change the months dynamically depending on the filters..... (for ex, on Xaxis the values should be (Jan, Apr, Jun,Oct) if i select the 3 months period filter....)
I have written a logic to collect the values of those particular months into an array, but not understading how to pass this array to Bar chart,, beacuse there I don't know what Xfield and Yfield to be given....
Array of color id-s represents a 3D Array of values. I've represented each value with a color(Blue is 1, Red is 2 and Green is 3). So for the example the array for the image would be[code]...
Now, I have an array of predefined shapes/objects. I'd like to replace the grouped colors with the shapes that I have. I'd like this to follow the rule of finding the largest shape first and then down to the smallest one. [code]...
I have some variables created on the main timeline and a mc called options which will be where those variables can be manipulated. A way I've tried to this is by creating a first array(array1) and populating it will all the variable names found on the main timeline, and another array(array2) containing the values of the variables the user has changed(which are displayed on some dynamic text fields). To make these changes, an "apply" button is pressed which will set the values found in array2 to the variables in array1.[code]How would you do this so that var1, var2... are updated properly according to the values found in array2?And because array2 contains strings(read from dynamic textfields), how do you deal with that since var1 and var2 are numbers?
I have an array collection of strings and integers (which I have displayed in a data grid) and I am wondering if it is possible to export the array collection into an html table? or even a text file for the user to download
I found some pages that had an export to .xls files but I want to stray away from that for now.
On a page I have a an iFrame and a swf, I've been trying to use ExternalInterface to pass values from the swf to the iFrame, anyone ever tried this and had any luck? I won't be able to post any code until tomorrow, will update then if needed.Here is a visualization of what I need to accomplish, perhaps if it can't be done the way I said someone will have a suggestion of another way to accomplish this.
[code]I want to input a number and find a match for the number, returning the values on the row in to specific fields for each number. For example, if I input the number 10 in an input field, I want the number 1.2276, 0.00100, 106.38 and the rest of that row to output these values I have seen so many options, don't know where to start.
I was wondering is it possible to pass an array through the localConnection in flash? My local connects connect my flash application with the javascript and passes variables between them.
I'm having difficulties transfering the content of a future array from XML to Flash.My goal is to be able to set variables in an XML file that will then be used in Flash.For that purpose, I've started to set my xml like that and it's running ok.
I have an array that has a lot of values including a lot of 'false' values.Is there any way of removing the 'false' values that is faster than this[code]...
I am trying to create a dialogue system for a game that references lines of dialogue to be displayed from an array.Example:
var myArray:Array = new Array("My name is David.","I am a noob at actionscript.");
This all works fine, but what I really want to do is have the name "David" be a variable so that the user can change. The issue is that the array seems to convert any string variables into their string value so when they are referenced they only appear as the initial value of the variable.
Example: var myName:String = "Empty"; var myArray:Array = new Array("My name is "+myName+".","I am a noob at actionscript."); //user does something to change the variable myName
[code]....
Output: My name is Empty.,I am a noob at actionscript.When what I want is for it to say: My name is Jones.
I'd really like to be able to make Flash's array access syntax 'wrap' over the array's bounds.
Lengthy explanation -
var array:Array = ['a','b','c','d','e','f'];
To keep things simple, the first index is 0, and its value is the first letter, 'a'. To get that value, we'd do this -
array[0]; // returns 'a'
As long as the index you're using to access the array is between 0 and array.length (6 in our example,) everything works fine - but if you use an index outside of those bounds, you're shut down.
array[-3]; array[9]; // both return 'undefined'
Sometimes that's a good thing - sometimes you expect that to happen, and you're fine with it. Other times, you find yourself wishing (or at least I find myself wishing) that it'd behave a bit more like this -
array[-3]; array[9]; // both return 'd'
(e.g. a photo gallery that jumps back to the beginning when you click 'next' on the last photo)There's a little chunk of code I use over and over for this sort of thing, but it's always to alter the index before passing it into the array:
var index = -3; while(index < 0){index += array.length} array[index % array.length]; // returns 'd'
... and that's fine, but what I really want to do is extend the Array object itself so that it'll automatically 'wrap' index values that go out of bounds.TL;DR - Is index-wrapping possible by extending Flash AS3's Array object?
I am loading images and am getting their heights via trace but can't put them into an array to save my life.
Code: var imageResArray:Array = new Array();//used to store image height ldr.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, ImageLoaded); ldr.load(new URLRequest(menuArray[c].iPath.toString()));
I have a for loop that goes through my recieved values from my server. How can I put all those values into ONE array? I have this now, but obviously the array just updates every time the loop returns.
Code: //XML var trades = new XML(); trades.ignoreWhite = true;
[Code]....
Basically, in my xml, I obviously have many more <TradesMan> values, but my trace is only showing me the very first one. How can I put all of my values in some sort of array so I target them from elsewhere within my flash file?
i tried to add numbers with the following code and it worksNumber(ary[0]) + Number(ary[1])but when i do sum with for loop it doesnt work, anyone knows why?
var total:Number; for(var i:Number=0; i<ary.length;i++){ total += Number(ary[i]); }
So I have this if statement, the goal of which is to test whether or not any of the values in an array (all of which are numeric) are equal to the value of a certain variable. How might I do this? I know how to make the array, and how to set the values in the array, and how to use any one of them on its own (myArray[somevaluegoeshere]), but how do I use all of them at once? Is there a way to do this? Should I not use an array and instead use some other better way of which I do not know?
