ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Changing Variable Values Inside Of An Array?

I am trying to create a dialogue system for a game that references lines of dialogue to be displayed from an array.Example:
var myArray:Array = new Array("My name is David.","I am a noob at actionscript.");
This all works fine, but what I really want to do is have the name "David" be a variable so that the user can change. The issue is that the array seems to convert any string variables into their string value so when they are referenced they only appear as the initial value of the variable.
Example:
var myName:String = "Empty";
var myArray:Array = new Array("My name is "+myName+".","I am a noob at actionscript.");
//user does something to change the variable myName
[code]....
Output: My name is Empty.,I am a noob at actionscript.When what I want is for it to say: My name is Jones.
I have a code, it is below. And i have two vars: coordx and coordy they both are 0 but when up button is pressed, coordx should change into 1 x remain 0 just like map scrolling and if pressed down it should return to default position, but instead of that variables keeps reseting and it starts from beggining. Here is the code:

I want to know if I have variables inside amovie clip that get some values after user contact and I want to use this values in other frames in the main timeline.
I have a simple FOR loop which runs through an array of MC names, which runs fine, but I'm trying to use these names inside this array as hittest values. So, I have one MC, and the code in this MC runs through an array and checks for any collisions between it and the mc in the array.
My intention is to have an array with several variables, each one with a different name, all of them of the type 'Number'. This I can do.What I can't do is to access the variables using the array's index.
Paste this on your frame 1:
Code: trace("======at frame 1======"); //objects// var objects:Array = new Array();

As you can see, the code is changing the value of the array element and not the value of the variable inside the array element.
I have an array filled with several pre-existing variables. I want to loop through this array and update each of these variables that way, so that I don't have to do it line by line. My issue is that when I edit the variable inside the array, it is not changing the actual variable that was assigned to it. See Below for example.

basically I have an array that stores some var(int/numbers). And when I loop through the array changing the numbers of the var, at the end the number seems still unchanged. You would have a better idea of what I'm talking about base on the below code.

I have two document classes. One is Main.as the other is Step2.as. I want to declare a public variable in Main.as then need to give it a value from Step2.as. That value will later be used in my next Document class Step3.as How would I write the code that gives the value in my Step2.as and then how would I write the code that retrieves the value in my Step3.as?
Note I can't import my Step2/ or Step3 document class into my Main.as.
I have three randomly moving movie clips and one keyboard controlled movie clip which is meant to avoid the tree random flying clips.
I want to do a hit test that basically will do something if anyone of the 3 random clips hit the keyboard controlled clip.
in the hit test i want to be able to have this work for any of the three random clips (flying pumpkins with different instance names, pumpkin1 pumpkin2 pumpkin3). This is all done on an external document class.

I'm doing a little weather web app in flash.So i read an xml feed and copose an array of data from it.[code]Now what i would like to do is to find and trace the entry in mydate array which have a a value that approach the most to "currenthour" variable (which is my current time i'm getting upper).For exemple if currenthour = 11.In the case that i have myhour array equal to 5 , 10 , 14 , 20.The best match will be myhour[1].
anyone knows how to pass an array values from an HTML into flash? Well, to begin I'll discuss what am I doing. I edited a twitter widget javascript which search tweets based on the hashtag I needed then passing it on an array per tweet and then displaying it using a <div> it updates once every 5 minutes. Now I want to display those tweets on a dynamic text on Flash. Let's say I will have 5 dynamic text placed on my flash file then; I want each of those dynamic text to have the tweets I have based on on my HTML arrays to be displayed in random.

I have two Qns,
1) how can I pass this array to Bar chart or column chart.
2) how do I need to show months on Xaxis. beacuse I'm asking this regarding, I have kept a filters that even if we want to see some months or a particular months or perticalar span of months... there on Xaxis it need to change the months dynamically depending on the filters..... (for ex, on Xaxis the values should be (Jan, Apr, Jun,Oct) if i select the 3 months period filter....)

I need an application to test the accelerometer values on my mobile phone. I need the values on my system so that I can manipulate that info for something else.
If I write an Android application, the values will be inside the Mobile phone, which is not what I want.

Flash keeps looping which is causing certain variables to add values constantly. E.g. if (userWord.text == word){ score = score + 1; trace(score); } That will constantly add one to "score" when a certain word is typed into a text box. How do I add one to "score" without stopping the application or playing it once?

I have some variables created on the main timeline and a mc called options which will be where those variables can be manipulated. A way I've tried to this is by creating a first array(array1) and populating it will all the variable names found on the main timeline, and another array(array2) containing the values of the variables the user has changed(which are displayed on some dynamic text fields). To make these changes, an "apply" button is pressed which will set the values found in array2 to the variables in array1.[code]How would you do this so that var1, var2... are updated properly according to the values found in array2?And because array2 contains strings(read from dynamic textfields), how do you deal with that since var1 and var2 are numbers?
i have a drag and drop exercise that will output a value based on the drop positions of 2 points. What I would like is to be able to add a button that basically has a whole new set of outputs based on the same drop positions. Here is an example. If I place an object on drop target 1 and 3. The output says something like "good job". Now if I click a button and place and object on 1 and 3 the output would say "try again".
