ActionScript 2.0 :: Setting Array Values To Variables In Another Array

I have some variables created on the main timeline and a mc called options which will be where those variables can be manipulated. A way I've tried to this is by creating a first array(array1) and populating it will all the variable names found on the main timeline, and another array(array2) containing the values of the variables the user has changed(which are displayed on some dynamic text fields). To make these changes, an "apply" button is pressed which will set the values found in array2 to the variables in array1.[code]How would you do this so that var1, var2... are updated properly according to the values found in array2?And because array2 contains strings(read from dynamic textfields), how do you deal with that since var1 and var2 are numbers?
Right now, I have many MovieClips's in my array. I want to update all the alpha values of the MovieClips in my array. Right now, I am using a for loop but this is not the fastest way to do it.

My intention is to have an array with several variables, each one with a different name, all of them of the type 'Number'. This I can do.What I can't do is to access the variables using the array's index.

As you can see, the code is changing the value of the array element and not the value of the variable inside the array element.
and i want to show these values on the Yaxis and months on Xaxis....
I have two Qns,
1) how can I pass this array to Bar chart or column chart.
2) how do I need to show months on Xaxis. beacuse I'm asking this regarding, I have kept a filters that even if we want to see some months or a particular months or perticalar span of months... there on Xaxis it need to change the months dynamically depending on the filters..... (for ex, on Xaxis the values should be (Jan, Apr, Jun,Oct) if i select the 3 months period filter....)
I have written a logic to collect the values of those particular months into an array, but not understading how to pass this array to Bar chart,, beacuse there I don't know what Xfield and Yfield to be given....
anyone knows how to pass an array values from an HTML into flash? Well, to begin I'll discuss what am I doing. I program and use so many different languages that I dont know if that can be done with AS3. my only other alternative i can think of is to create some sort of event dispatcher object array. but I dont know how to get them all to send events to one listener with there index number.
I have a list of strings that I add to an array, then attempt to set those values in a for-loop using data that I read in. The array gets updated, but the values the array contains do not. I also have an array of buttons that I update this same way that works great, but strings don't seem to work the same way. I have tried moving the string array to give it full scope, and still nothing...

There is a bird, and you control its upwards movement with a key. It has thrust, gravity, it works fine. The problem is I have a bunch of icicles that come at the bird that he is supposed to avoid. I tried this first with math random to use as an x coordinate and than move across the screen, but the icicles had the same x-coordinates sometimes. I tried does not equal(!=) but that doesn't work. I made an array and each number that came out of the array I assigned a different variable. This works fine. I put this variable into the x-coordinate such as mc.x=((n)*60)+480. I did this for five different icicles. All their differnt variables have a different value, and I put them into the same function for each individual video clip, but they still don't go to the right coordinate. It enables and disables the movieclips depending on which one is clicked. But I want to make the xml functions (firstImage(), secondImage()...) go with the buttons in sequence. So once btn1 gets pressed the firstImage() xml function gets called.
I have a for loop that goes through my recieved values from my server. How can I put all those values into ONE array? I have this now, but obviously the array just updates every time the loop returns.

Basically, in my xml, I obviously have many more <TradesMan> values, but my trace is only showing me the very first one. How can I put all of my values in some sort of array so I target them from elsewhere within my flash file?

So I have this if statement, the goal of which is to test whether or not any of the values in an array (all of which are numeric) are equal to the value of a certain variable. How might I do this? I know how to make the array, and how to set the values in the array, and how to use any one of them on its own (myArray[somevaluegoeshere]), but how do I use all of them at once? Is there a way to do this? Should I not use an array and instead use some other better way of which I do not know?
I'm having issues with this array I setup for a MP3 player I am creating. First I'm trying to plug in the array in the URL Request, not sure if I need a for loop. Also in my onComplete Function below, I want once one song is finished in the Array, the next item in the array plays or if there are no more items left it goes back to the first item in the array. Not sure if I am setting this up properly

Here's what I'm trying to accomplish: I have as3 script that successfully displays an array of MovieClips, the MCs have variable xy positions, and in some cases they overlap each other. I have a function within the array that I can't quite figure out. Here's what I'd like the function to do: When the cursor rolls over a particular MC displayed by the array,I'd like that MC to be brought to the front of the others. This is my script:

I'm trying to create a dynamic text field which displays the first number contained in an array named _root.arr. I set var to "_root.arr[0]" to catch the first number in the array. Unfortunately it doesn't work because it shows just a blank text field.
I've also noticed that if I just set var to "_root.arr" all the numbers contained in the array will be displayed separeted by a comma.
So, how can I just display the first number in the array?

I already have an array set up with a navigation and tween on the MC's when the navigation is pressed. My question is, how would I apply a simple automated play to it. The functions are already there that make the navigation bring up my corresponding MC, i just need some autoplay to it.

I've creating a drag and drop card game in AS 2.0 and need to set the cards randomly in set positions every time the game is played. no two cards can be in the same space, so the taken position needs to be taken out of the array.I am not concerned about the Y value just X . I think this needs to be an array containing the positions. then using slice to remove the value from the array. I'm not sure how to assigned the array position to the movie clip.
