I've been having a problem for the past month or so, and for the life of me I can't work out how to switch off the pen tool I have in actionscript. I have the following code in frame 2, and frame one doesn't have anything, meaning it doesn't allow the user to draw. However, after returning to frame 1 from frame 2, you can still draw. Is there anyway to turn off this drawing actionscript completely when going back to the first frame?[code]
I found that .fla files do not save in Flash CS4 when the Deco tool or Spray Brush tool is selected. Is this a bug? Or is there a workaround to this issue.

I want to create a line tool exactly like flash line tool. But the code that I am using shows the line when we release the mouse button. How can I show the lines while it is drawing
I do know how to use the oval / rectangle and oval / rectangle primitive tools in the tool bar and find them quite useful, but one thing I find confusing is. A oval / rectangle primitive object can be edited later but the oval / rectangle can't. So the point is,how do we use them properly ? when to use ? Why does Adobe Flash still keep the oval / rectangle tool in their product instead of removing them with the oval / rectangle primitive tool ?
I was playing around with the transition tool after reading one of the posts now every time I add an image from the library to the stage it's got the transition tool handles. How do I get rid of them??
When I create a gradient and fill with it, sometimes the gradient transform tool works perfectly. Other times, I click on the gradient fill with the gradient transform tool and the gradient is selected as if I clicked it with the "Selection Tool."I can't get the gradient transform tool to give me any handles to adjust the gradient once applied.
I am trying to use the bone tool on a jpeg image I edited in photoshop. When I import it I have to "break-apart" the image to use the bone tool on it and all seems fine. but when the pose is set, the image vanishes during the motion.
I have now tried to animate a human character made of movie clips using the bones tool 3 times from scratch and every time it has gone extremely buggy. I move an arm and other parts of the body randomly move to different positions. I fix one arm then I notice other parts of the body are all screwed up.
Just opened flash for the first time to find that the pen tool will only draw straight lines.It can still plot points and the lines will join up but curves are impossible.Is there some setting that disable drawing curves? I haven't found anything in the annoyingly-online files.

I would like to animate an object (a circle for example) in motion tween, but with the effect of leaving trace/trail as it progresses throughout the stage. I'd like it to look exactly as in the last frame when the option "onion skin" is pressed/marked (with "onion all" checked/marked, for all the frames). So, once again, I'd like to get this effect but in motion, because it occurs/is viewable only in last frame.
I've got a strange problem with the blur tool. I have a movie clip that i have added a motion tween to and applied a blur to it - so the movie clip image blurs as it moves. This was working perfectly when i first tested it and as i've continued with the creating the flash file and re-tested for some reason the blur is no longer displaying. It's strange as it shows as blurred in the Flash file i'm editing but when i press F12 to display in a SWF it's not blurring. I've attached the file i'm working on

I'm having a hard time with strokes. First I selected a stroke and the properties panel would not let me change it's thickness. How to add a stroke to an object. We used to have a tool that allowed us to apply a stroke to an object. That is gone now. How we attach a line to an object now?? It looks like Adobe has changed Flash CS4 to be more like Photoshop. It is about as intuitive as a tax form.
I'm getting a flickering issue with my tool tip hovers. I've tried setting up the code in 2 different ways and I'm still getting the same thing! Each way seems to work fine if there's only one object, but when there's more than one and you start moving the mouse between the 2 this really annoying flickering keeps occurring? My file needs to have several objects which all overlap. I've tried altering the hit areas so that they don't actually touch - but no effect.
I've also tried swapping ROLL_OVER for MOUSE_OVER and MOUSE_MOVE but all with no results.. Please could anyone show me or point me in the right direction as to the best way to do something like this? I'm going crazy with it!
I'd like to use the mouse to sketch a basic curve which will then be 'auto-smoothed' when the mouse is released. This is exactly how the Flash pencil tool already behaves.

Anybody know how to create the tooltips show on this website URL...The tool tips will appear when you mouse over the word "location" that is highlighted in blue on the web page. The tool tips will follow the mouse where ever it is within the blue highlighted area.
I'd like to draw a little web tool, which allows to draw freehand just like with a simple black felt-tip, with a button to save what has been drawn on a jpg file on my website. Do you know any examples? I looked for the code on the net, but none did function.
I noticed that for some reason whenever I use the 3d rotation tool on an object inside of a clipping mask that the object releases the clipping mask. Are 3d objects not supported within clipping masks? Is there a way around that?
I'm wondering if there is (and I feel there HAS to be) a way to fine tune movements with the 3D rotation tool. Using the mouse works to an extent, but just like nudging movements with the arrow keys, it's sometimes impossible to get the placement I want with mouse dragging.
I tried to get some help on this directly from Adobe and they just sent me a patronising description of how to use the eyedrop tool. I've been a flash artist for years so this is not some newbie failing to grasp a basic principle.
The colour picker you can access after clicking and holding on the fill colour or line colour on the toolbar no longer works for some reason. It's still there, but doesn't pick up the colours you rollover anymore. It did on all previous versions!
This was extremely useful as the tool bar eyedropper requires you to actually go inside the grouped items or symbols. It's especially useful if you're using photo reference or scaling similar panels/buttons etc. Is there a patch available that can restore functionality to this? It has severely curtailed my working speed.
I come across a problem when i follow the book "classroom in a book series" the Flash CS4 one (Red cover book) Chapter 2 Q.1 I try to draw straight lines or curves but i found i still cannot manage how to use PEN TOOL How can i draw straight line? Also how can i draw absolute vertical or horizontal line with some special combination key like CTRL or SHIFT i tried guessing SHIFT or CTRL while using PEN TOOL but no help
How can i draw curve? i know it depends somehow on whether i hold my click for a new anchor point? Any tutorial which is clear and easy for new comer for fully understanding for PEN TOOL.(Currently i try reading pdf reference from ADOBE Web site and google search but did not make myself understand.)

I am new to Flash but have used Illustrator and InDesign for years. How to set the reference object by which all other objects are aligned; e.g. Illustrator ->select all objects then a second click on the reference object and all other objects take their cue. InDesign you lock the reference object and that determines the rest. In Flash it seems that either both objects move or the one that I wish to remain in position jumps rather than the other way around.
