ActionScript 2.0 :: Picture Preview System - MovieClip Button Hyperlink?
Nov 17, 2009
I am creating a Picture preview system, so far I have a movie clip with all of my images inside, a load of buttons that when pressed make the movie clip swap to the correct picture and stop there. All of this is fine, my issue is that I wantto place the Movie clip in question into a button, and depending on the particular frame the movie is showing, it will send the user to a different Website.
I learned a few years ago on Actionscript 2 and I'm finding Actionscript 3 very confusing. I figured out (through much searching) how to write up a working (in theory) hyperlink script. When I open it up in preview mode, the link goes through (very slowly and doesn't come up in my default browser, but it works). When I try to work the link in Internet Explorer or Chrome (haven't tried firefox) nothing happens.
I've imported an offline video to my Flash CS4 movie.As it is, the video window is black with the play controls.How do I make it show a snaphot of one of the video frames so it's clear what the video is about?
I'd like to have a flash document, that is placed on a webpage, BUT in the 'stage' there would be 4 or 5 pictures. a person would click on the picture they want, and it would then be shown in a preview area on the stage. There would also be a cpl input text fields, and when a person types something in this box then it would also be shown in the preview area.
I want to make a picture gallery and use buttons that move you from picture to picture and backwards, but I don't want to tell button 1 to go to frame 2 and button 2 to got to frame 3 and so on (I hope you know what I mean)Can I use on button on a separate layer with the same action set? I tried something like that, but it didn't work:
on (release) { thisframe =+1 } [code]........
but it didn't work. I'm kind of new to any action script other than gotAndPlay, easy functions and all that.
I'm having some trouble with getURL (I think). It works fine when I preview with Flash's html preview but it's not working on my server. It's pretty simple. [URL].selected1 is a user-defined variable pointing to a page: ie, when the user selects variable page1 the page to be opened is [URL]. Like I said, it works with Flash's preview, but not on my server(no 404 or any response). Does there seem to be a problem with my code or might I be overlooking a server error? Here's my code:
First time poster and I'm very inexperienced with flash. I have searched for an answer to my question but can't seem to find it. I am trying to assign a simple hyperlink to several movieclips in my flash movie. The movieclips consist of simple static text and a graphic icon.[code]...
So there are three menu buttons, and the page flys in animations depending on the button pushed.I have another button named LINK, and I thought it would just be a matter of inserting the following code somewhere:
But no matter where I put it, it just makes my site play through all the animations one after the other regardless of whether buttons have been clicked or not, and the link won't work.Where should I put this code and is it correct? Also, once it's working, I want to copy it and make another button for creating an email.Is that just a matter of having a mailto: link instead of a hyperlink?
I want to do is add a simple hyperlink in my xmlhtml hyperlink in my xml.how to do a hyperlink in xml.This is what I do know,you can add the <a href="http:[url]...but that does not work for me,when i save and preview my fla, it takes away my scroll bar that i have.I have also seen somwhere you can use the <?[[DATA tag, but this aswell doesnt work for me in my FLA, is there somewhere i need to reference hyperlinks before I can modify my xml?
I have made a banner in CS4 and I need to make it a button scripting in the code for a hyperlink. This function seems to have changed quite a bit in action script 3.
I have a button symbol on the top layer in a flash file. I have it fade in and on the last frame of the tween, I placed an action of: on (release) { getURL("[URL]", "_blank"); } I copied that frame and pasted it on the last frame of the movie. When I play the movie, I get the mouse-over for the button, but when I click, nothing happens. How do I get the url to work?
I do not know really anything about ActionScript. I have completed a tut on it but that is all. I am trying to make a hyperlink from a classic arcade button but the code I found is apparently from AS2.
I would have thrown both my computer and probably my family out the window by now out of pure frustration. I used the tutorial to learn how to use flash mx to make button hyperlinks by using the actions/browser/geturl thingWhat I am struggling with is finding a way to outline or select each individual state so that the user can click anywhere in the state and have it link to another page rather then have to make a dot on the state
I want to hyperlink to a zip file using a button in flash. Is there anyway i can do this? the GetURL bit doesnt work. (at least not in mozilla). The final file will be a projector so it has to work from there. When a person clicks on a image, it links to a high-rez tiff in a zip file.
I am working on an image management application. We have an Adobe AIR client talking to a WAMP server. The MySQL DB stores the images as blobs.We have an image search feature. Upon searching, I am displaying the results as XMLList in a popup window and provided a download button. Downloads work fine. I also want to add a preview button to the popup.how can I code this. Without having the file on the client, I cannot preview. But when I use save() method, the os dialog opens up.
I'd like to make a bandwidth saving mp3 preview button... instead of clicking on the button and that the stuff loads an mp3 file on the server (legally of course) it just takes a part of it, like 10 seconds or more...
I Have the drag and drop working where you drag a text movieclip onto a picture of an object movieclip but having some problems. I know its something to do with the hitTest function but when i drop the word "cow" onto the picture of a dog it actually says this is correct by displaying the word cow above the picture of the dog when instead it shouldnt allow me to drop the text onto the picture which doesnt match.
Basically i need to know how to seperate the drag hitTest function for the DogPic/DogText so that it has its own function to detect a hit. At the moment you can see in the below code I have 1 hittest fucntion detecting both collisions when they need seperate functions I tried making a seperate function for each but it didnt work
I'm currently trying to load specific XML data as a hyperlink into a button,the hyperlink is saved in the xml-file, and called upon by "childURL", now if I assign this function to the child_mc, which is formed into a menu dynamically within an instance named emptyMC, it will give me the link:
problem is I want to assign the link, when the child_mc-movieclip is clicked, to a button named 'linkbutton' on the main stage which will then load the page assigned in the xml-file when clicked.How would I load this data inside the button on stage? All codes I tried just open my browser and link to nowhere.
Am working on a website and just doing the final tests and evrything works apart from in internet explorer 7 when i click on the hyperlink( flash button) it says it can't find the url, which doen't make any sense as it works fine using mozilla.
I'm in the process of switching from AS 2.0 to AS 3.0, so apologies if this is really obvious.. I am modifying/updating an old template for a client and am inserting customized navigation buttons. One is a play/pause button and I was able to swap the old buttons for the new in the library and show them on the stage with no problems. When I export to swf to preview the movie, the new button just flashes repeatedly between the different "play" and "pause" states (up, over, etc).
I checked to make sure I didn't change any names of the buttons or movie clips. I tried inserting stop(); but it doesn't work...probably because I'm not putting it in the right spot. When I select the button, it has "up, over, down, hit" in the Timeline and says the selection can't have any actions applied to it.
I have a text input field called 'phone' and a button with the GetUrl function. Button script looks like this:
on (release){getURL("http://url/sendlink.page?country=160&phone=phone&keyword=33&msgtype=26", "", "POST");}
First of all when I press the button nothing happens. When I paste the link directly into my browser everythinbg works as it should. But not from flash file.
adding the 'phone' variable into the hyperlink. What do I write? Something like this: [URL]
It seems to me that all I need is to get my youtube chromeless player that I've loaded in the place I want it to be. Preview As you can see it's not loaded into my MovieClip! Though it IS loaded, it plays, it's the right size! Just not in the right position. I'm hoping one of you can spot me here and be my life saver. Been stuck here and sitting on this code for a couple of days, REALLY WANT TO MOVE ON! Here's my code (AS3)
I saw this tutorial and it works great in actionscript 3.0 on its own - http:[url].... .But does anyone know to make something like this in actionscript 2.0? The reason being is my main site was created in 2.0 and cannot publish it in 3.0.
Any thoughts as to why this works correctly in CS5 publish preview but when I publish it I either get no action or (XP comupter) or a blank page (vista) Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated. Also, I'm new to flash and here's the button action:
on (release) { //create the LoadVars that will hold our paypal information var paypal = new LoadVars();
Basically I have a 2 swf files. Within the main swf i have a button that I want to call in a second swf when it is clicked. The code I have for this looks as below..
Btn_interiors.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK,lo adGallery); function loadGallery(event:MouseEvent):void{ var l = new Loader(); addChild(l); l.load(new URLRequest("portfolio_interiors.swf")); }
The problem I am having is that when I enter the code and "Check Syntax" no errors appear, however when I preview the published swf and click the button, i get the following message....Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:. text=Error #2035: URL Not Found.
To me this would seem to say that the swf I am trying to call in is not in the appropriate folder, but both of the files are in the same folder.
I've been working on a AS3 script to control my FLVplayback component. I'm very close to making this work. Let me describe what I want to happen.On my homepage I have a DIV container where my video will be located. I want a still image of the video to load with a play button over it.Upon mouse over I want the button to change colors, upon mouse click I want the video to play.I have a .FLA project I'm working. I've got a FLVplayback component, sourced to my .flv. I've created a button and it works. When you click it the video plays.I have 3 layers.
actions (this is the top layer)
buttons (has a button and progress bar)
assets (only the FLVplayer)
The following AS3 is set to frame1 in the actions layer.
I'm using FlashCS4, AS3 and DreamweaverCS4
Here is the weird issue.
#1. While working in Flash.If I do a publish preview the play button with load for a split second and then disappear to be replaced by the still image.If you click on the center of the still image where the play button SHOULD be, the video will play.
#2.If I view this online.The play buttons NEVER disappear, however the still image NEVER loads.
In Flash CS 5.5, I know you can preview the playback of a video right on the stage using the button and fader of the skin. But then why is there still the [preview] section written in the Component Parameter? (Under the isLive line) And why is it always set to None?
