I have an audio player that has a custom timeline and playhead. I am using a start and stop drag to move in the time line but the only way i can make it work is to have it play when ever I release the play head. Flash :: Audio Player That Can Play Binary Audio Streams?

Apr 13, 2011

My server is streaming binary audio data (mostly mp3 files) to a client (a browser). This client stores the audio data in memory.

What I'm looking for is a flash audio player that I can input the binary audio data so that it can play the audio file.

Preferably, the flash client is merely a bridge to Javascript so that I can handle everything in Javascript and simply use Flash's audio features, but this is not a requirement.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Play / Stop Button - Current Audio File To Play The Next One

Feb 27, 2012

I have created two buttons for separate audio files. Essentially if you click on the button it will play and stop. This works great! I have also injected a SoundMixer.stopAll(); to ensure if you click between both buttons that it will stop the current audio file to play the next one. My problem is when I select the 2nd button for the first time everything seems to be working...it's when I attempt to click on the first button again, that it will require 2 clicks and then it stops and plays accordingly...anyone know how I could eliminate this annoying two click process?

And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

Professional :: Syncing Audio With Animation?

Mar 24, 2012

I'm making an animation in flash CS5, and everything went well with it until a certain scene, which is no different than the other scenes in terms of animation/audio. In that scene, while one character is finishing his audio sentence, the next audio line already begins, screwing up the animation to audio sync in the animation from that point on. This doesn't make sense because the line that begins too early, isn't marked to play until a few seconds into the NEXT scene. Why is this happening? I tried so many things and it's really frustrating that nothing is working. I tried changing the lines from even, to stream, from mp3 to wav, making scenes longer at the end, but no matter what I do, the next audio line begins really early, messing up the entire audio to animation sync of the entire video from that point on.

Audio Kept Visible In The Timeline For Flash Animation?

Oct 19, 2009

The images for animation load okay. The sound loads okay.  But the animation images need to be inserted in coordination with the sounds, which is difficult using only the ears, but I do not know how to keep the audio graph seen on the timeline so as to know where to put the images. I can keep the graph open on the little library window when it is open but not on the timeline. how to keep the graph open on the audio track while I work on the image tracks.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Accurately Jumping Around In Animation / Audio

Jan 21, 2009

I'm learning AS3 as I modernize the VCR controls for our e-learning topics. The way we used to do it was load the wav into the timeline and keyframe to the audio. We have a little tracker bar you can click on to jump around, a tracker icon you can drag, play/pause and FF/RW buttons. In AS2, since the wav was in the timeline, I just had to worry about frame numbers.

It seems like the modern way to do it is to load the audio as an MP3 externally. How accurate will this be as far as sync'ing the audio to the animation when using the tracker bar and jumping around? I'll basically be mathematically slicing the bar graphic into pieces and using that to tell the animation what frame to start on, and converting that to a time for the audio to start.

Professional :: Export Animation To QuickTime - Audio Sync

Jun 18, 2010

I am using Flash CS3 on a PC. I am trying to export an animation to quicktime (Export > Export movie) and have some problem regarding the sound. The animation contains actionscript 2.0loads external swf contains streaming soundsplay other sounds via actionscript. 4 scenes. When publishing the animation, it works fine, but when exporting it to .mov, the audio goes faster than the video.

Export setting:
Video:Compression type: H.264Frame Rate: CurrentKeyFrames: 4
Sound:Compressor: 24-bit integerRate: 48.000KhzSize: 16BitUse: Stereo
To be honest, I tried many other compression types and frame rates and keyframes, but nothing seem to work.

I tried:
- importing the external swfs into the original animation
- creating a streaming silence from frame 1 for continuous sound
- capturing the animation using CamStudio, but it's not smooth enough

ActionScript 3.0 :: External Audio X Animation - Sound Delay

Feb 8, 2011

I have a few animations that run on different scenes each time a scene is loaded the external audio should start with it. Well here is the thing the animation always starts before my audio files and each scene gets bugged. I need to create an action that only allows my scene to start with the audio and also starts loading the next audio so it wont be dellayed.

On the first scene I have the following code:
scene 1 frame 1
var autoPlay:Boolean;
if(!autoPlay){
stop();}
scene 1 frame 2 animation starts and audio 1 loads
import flash.media.Sound;

Professional :: Rt/animation/audio Disappearing From The Timeline After A Save?

Aug 11, 2011

I'm having problems with many files losing their assets from the timeline after a save and reopening the file in Mac OS X Snow Leopard. This is happens quite often now and there seems to be no pattern to it. For example, I will open an existing Flash animation complete with sound and artwork, make changes to the animation timing, test the SWF and everything looks good, then save. After reopening the exact same file, there will be audio that was on the timeline will be an empty frame. In addition, there is art work that was swapped out or updated to a character and the symbols becomes empty after reopening.

Professional :: Incorporate Audio (Voice) To Explain Flash Animation

Apr 6, 2010

I am doing a project on an interactive website that contains flash animations. I have to incorporate a voice that explains what is happening in the animations. I am using my own voice for this. I have recorded my voice and saved it as .mp3 files. between each animation there are about 6-10 audio files. I am pretty sure I can import the sounds into the flash library and drag the sounds on the timeline and sync the sound with the animations that way but is it possible to control the sound using actionscript as I have to incorporate buttons that allows the user to play, pause and stop the animation and the audio. Or can I only use actionscript to achieve this.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Play An Audio Loop Across Different Swf

Above script enables me to link the files. However, I wish to play an audio across all files CONTINUOUSLY. Is there ANY way to do it? I tried putting the audio in another file and load the movie on level 1. But everytime when I jump from one file to another, the audio stops.

Play Audio/video Files In Flex?

Oct 18, 2010

I'm using flex 3. I've successfully played video and audio files by using following libraries:

flash.media.Video flash.media.Sound Live docs link. But the limitations are as follow: Video class can be used to play only flv file format. To play mp3 files I must use audio file.

So can I play most of the famous audio/video files by using single method?

Well by checking the file type we can some how achieve it. Then I should create a component for that.

So can any one suggest me such ready-made components? or is there any other alternatives to play audio/video files?

ActionScript 2.0 :: [CS3/CS4] Loading Audio From XML, Sound Won't Play

Sep 8, 2009

I've been working on a Flash/XML audio player and have been struggling with getting the audio to stream. Right now I have Flash create a list of songs based on the loaded XML file, which works, and I want to be able to click on one of the listed items for the song to start playing. When an item is clicked on, Flash will trace out a message from an onLoad command, but the audio never starts playing.

I opened a new Flash file to test the non-working segment of code and I still can't get it to co-operate.

Code:
var currentsong:Sound = new Sound();
currentsong.loadSound("http://www.vtspencer.com/recordjackets/beta/media/file_11.m4a",true);

[Code]...

All that happens is that the trace saying "Should be playing" comes through. The music still won't start.
