i need to change the colour of a graphic in a specific movie in a specific frame. if i have a movie clip instance-named "sidetext" thats 15 frames long, and i want a graphic in the movie, called "letterp" to change to one of four colours that i want it to randomly at frame 10 and stay that colour uintil frame 15, how can i do this?

I made a flash website and had one page load an external swf.
In this external .swf are thumbnails that link to another page (frame) all within the external swf. when you go to these pages there is a 'back' link which links back to the main external swf frame.
My problem is this: let's say i click a thumbnail in the external swf and it goes to the respective thumbnail page, and then i dont click the 'back' button but instead click another link of the main flash website - then i go back to the page that loads the external swf and instead of going to the main frame of the external swf it stays at the page i was previously on.
How do I get the link on the main flash website which loads the external .swf to always load on the first frame of the external swf?

The above code is on a blank keyframe. Changepage1 is the start of the animation and Changepage2 is the end of the animation.
Upon clicking the navigation button it plays the above scenes.
However it doesn't change scenes to scene "Home2".

I'm using Flash CS4 with AS3. I'm building a website for a friend the problem I have. When a user clicks on a button I want it to play a movie clip then stop at a specfic frame. I want all the buttons to play the same movieclip but go to a different frame.
The current actionscript I am using is located on frame 1 is:

This allows me to navigate to the right frame but does not play for obvious reasons, if I use the gotoAndPlay function its carries on playing to the end of the movie.
I am making a flipping page book in flash and have had to create sections in different movies because it kept crashing when i tried to have all the pages in the same movie. I have 3 movies 'page flip4', 'pageflip4-2', and 'page flip 4-3' . I have used the code below to go (flip bacwards) from 'page flip4-2' to the frame label ''backflip'' in 'page flip4'..This works fine

the trick is.. i want the button to play frame 10 to 40 then after playing from frame 10-40 the movie stops and then play frame 80 to 100
I've created a widget that that, on roll over, starts an animation and allows the user to jump to a url on clicking the widget. It all works well, except that the whole stage area (209x204 pixels) is sensitive to the roll, and I want to somehow make a specific target area start the animation on roll over.
I've tried putting it into another button and adding a hit state to the button, which did create the specific area I was aiming for, but prevented the movie from playing, creating a weird 'stutter' of the cursor.
I am making point and click game with AS3, with few scenes. On one scene, I've made some kind of door movie clip, and animated it inside that movieclip. there is a "doorhandle" movieclip also, and it needs to animate that animation (inside "door" mc) on click, as well as animation inside "doorhandle" movieclip in the same time.

View 2 RepliesI want to "Test Movie" to get a feel for what my animation looks like as a SWF file but I want to test it from a specific frame. My reason for this is that normally if I go to Test movie, I have to watch my entire animation from the start when really, I might want to test it only to see if a certain part works. And I do realize there is the "play" option in the timeline using Enter but that doesn't have the same effect as Test movie.
Is there any way of testing a movie from a specific frame?
