ActionScript 2.0 :: Reattach Dynamic Clips With Updated Database Info?

Feb 3, 2006

I am building a dynamic menu with xml via php, mysql. Attaching clips from the library for each database row/xml node, etc. My question is how can I rebuild that menu if another database call is made and the list needs to be repopulated? I imagine I could create a clip on the fly and attach clips, but how could I get rid of the previous one? I'd like to re-use the xml object just write a function that either rebuilds the clip or creates a new instance of an empty clip and builds the menu with that one?

ActionScript 2.0 :: Pulling Info Out Of The Database Using Flash?

i got the info all in the database and then i have a php page that goes and retrieves the id that the e-mail sent through. here is my code on the load.php page so far:

PHP Code:

<?php
//database connect
require_once("connect.php");[code]...

now i've got all the records of value $card (lets say 8 for this instance) pulled into this php page, how would i go about loading them into flash with loadVars()? for the record names, i used this line to originally insert them:

PHP Code:

$result = mysql_query("INSERT into ecard (fname, femail, tname, temail, message) values ('$fromName', '$fromEmail', '$toName', '$toEmail', '$message')");

Flex :: Oracle - Remoteobject Multiple Records In Database Of Same Info?

Feb 11, 2012

Case1: When a client makes a remoteObject request ie to save some Info... A call is made to Java SAVE_INFO method. If request failed ie came back to FaultHandler ( we save the info in an arrayCollection).Later we call SAVE_INFO again for each item in arrayCollection ie( if arrayCollection has 10 items.. We call 10 times the same method.. I know that's kind of stupid but we have no control over java to write a overloading method). Some times we see there are multiple records of same info in DB. I am not sure if this happens when looping over arraycollection and making calls or during normal one time call. We could not find a pattern to reproduce. Java LOG level is at Error level in production. can't set to INFO in production to monitor all calls. We dont know if this multiple times saved record is, the one in arrayCollection or normal one.

Flex3 RemoteObject --> WAS 6.1 , lCDS 3.0, Java1.5 --> Webservice -- > Java (hibernate) --> Oracle 10gCase2: When application is left open and user leaves for the day and submits info the following morning, we see duplicate records in DB of that info.(No arrayCollection here. Simple straight one call)Flex3 RemoteObject --> OC4J Blazeds Java1.5 (JDBC) --> Oracle 10g.Recently one of our Testers testing case 2 application found this pattern and I am starting to think that may be in the case 1 also.. users might be leaving for lunch/break and resubmitted the arrayCollection after coming back. During lunch java might have killed the sessions for the client and after resubmitting 10 at same time.

ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Put Call Out Info In Dynamic Textbox

Mar 29, 2009

I have a php script that grabs data from a sql database and stores it into an XML file, this data is then read by a flash doc which should show the different values based on the movie. I have successfully loaded the xml doc into my flash and have been able to traverse the xml dom [URL]. I have successfully used trace to call out information into the "output" window.. But how to put this information into my dynamic text box.

I created a dynamic text box and typed in text_1 into the box underneath it. (I can only assume that this is the name of the text box). So then I used the action script
text_1.text = nodeText.node.text.text()[0];
But this comes up with some errors..

My xml is very simple..
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
<document><node>
<text>Sample Text1</text>
</node><node>
<text>Sample Text2</text>
</document>

And here is my action script code:
Code:
var xmlLoader:URLLoader = new URLLoader();
var xmlData:XML = new XML();
xmlLoader.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, LoadXML);
xmlLoader.load(new URLRequest("note.xml"));
function LoadXML(e:Event):void {

ActionScript 2.0 :: Dynamic Slideshow - Loading Images Using XML Info From Array

May 25, 2009

I've constructed a dynamic slideshow using ActionScript 2.0 and PHP/MySQL. The reason for this, aside from update purposes, is that the slideshow will eventually display over 200 images. Thus, to save loading time and bandwidth, I decided to use PHP to pull ten images from an SQL database, formatting the output in XML. The slideshow itself works fine. Unfortunately, there are a couple of issues I need to address; my ActionScript is extremely rusty, so much of my work's patchy.

The code's displayed below:
import mx.transitions.Tween;
import mx.transitions.easing.*;
var myShowXML = new XML();
myShowXML.ignoreWhite = true;
myShowXML.load("getData.php");
[Code] .....

The code in red is my main focus. It's the loop which loads all images as movie clips using the XML information from an array. The loop loads all of the images, making them transparent before the presentation begins. What I would like to do instead, to save loading time, is to load the next image while the current one is displaying. The function "moveSlide" controls the transition of the images, so I'd imaging it'd be best to plade it in there.

There's already an incremental variable being used, with _root.target_mc, for removing transparency from the current slide. The code in blue is also nagging me quite severely. I retrieve the next chain of slides by simply contacting the PHP script again. The only way I could think of doing that was to refresh the slideshow (this is done COMPLETELY in ActionScript, with nothing on the stage). Unfortunately, I could only work out how to reload the whole video.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Built A Dynamic Photo Gallery Which Works From An XML Database?

Jan 20, 2005

The easiest thing is if you look at my swf: [URL]..Ive built a dynamic photo gallery which works from an XML database. The database contains the various gallery titles, the photo image paths and their captions.

The first page of the gallery is a thumbnail index page (lots of small preview images of the photos). The thumbnails load up one by one, they are only 1kb each but there are hundreds so takes some time. If a user clicks on one, the thumbnail movieclip is hidden with (._visible) and the photo page is shown, also with (._visible). The problem is, the thumbnails are still being loaded in the background, so the chosen photo is not downloaded+shown until all the thumbnails have loaded.

What kind of code do I need to place on the thumbnail's "onRelease" function to cancel the parent "make thumbnails" function ive made?
