ActionScript 2.0 :: Remove/update Record From An Array?
Jul 24, 2009
I have an inputbox and a submit button and prev and next button in my screen. Whenever users enter a text in the input box and clicks on the button, the text value is stored in an array. Then users click on the next button and again enters new value in the inputbox and click the submit button. The new value is added in the array.
Now suppose if users want to make correction to the values that they have entered for previously entered values, they can click on the previous button and make correction and click on the submit button.
For this I think, we have to remove an array value and add a new value to it. I am confused on how to remove and add a new value to that particular place.
Do I have to use Array.splice method. I think using the splice method I can remove an array item but how can I add the new value to that particular place. For example if users want to make correction to the second item, we should replace myArray[1].
i have an requirement ie. i have two panels(left,right).Left panel contains three fields(form).Right panel contains datagrid with three colums(one column contains edit bottons.I have done this using itemrenderer).My question is when i clicked on edit button,the corresponing row data will populated into in the form of left panel.How can i achieve this? How can i get the each row id of datagrid and how can i pass that row id to edit button?
I'm making a maze game. The character can't walk through the walls of the maze (because of a collition detection between the bitmapdata from the character and the bmd from the walls). When the character arrives at a door, the next level/frame should appear with a new maze (new bounds). For the next level (next frame), I made a new maze with different walls. But the bitmapdata from the first maze is still 'active'.
So even though there's a new maze, the bitmapdata from the previous walls is invisible but still drawn on the stage. My question to you is: I want to change the bounds/maze every frame, how can I remove the previous bitmapdata so the character won't walk through the bounds of the next maze? Or is it possible to make an array from the different 'bounds'?
stop(); var isRight:Boolean=false; var isLeft:Boolean=false; var isUp:Boolean=false; var isDown:Boolean=false; var speed:int = 10; [Code] .....
I have been using the evt.updateAfterEvent() whenever a mouse is clicked.Is it possible to call an update on the entire stage to remove any pixels.which are no longer being used?
ok so i built a nice little CMS that is all XML driven, everything working pretty smooth you can open the documents edit them same them, make new ones, and so forth. the only issue that im hitting is that it will take the app some time before it understands the xml has changed.
so i built a refresh button, it removes all of the listeners nulls the two xml lists then rebuilds everything, but this will only work after sitting around for a minuet, if i refresh right after i add content or make a new file, it won't show. this isn't a huge issue since the files do eventually update, but i would like to figure out what is going on,
I've continued with it and have hit another hurdle. When I run the loop to load in the XML images, inside the same loop I add instances of a "thumb" movieclip onto the stage. It's just a little graphic that I want to use as thumbnail buttons. So for example, if the XML loads in 3 images, 3 instances of the "thumb" mc also load onto the stage. I currently give then unique names in the loop but that name gets overwritten each time the loop runs. How can I record each name of the instance? I'm guessing an array but how do you populate an array with a loop?
Then, I'm hoping if those names are recorded in an array, then I can reference the different thumb instances (so they can do different things with the images) and also use removeChild on them when I close the gallery and load in the next gallery. Here is my code so far,
filterFunction is a method to apply a filter on the content of a collection.But the filter is not apply into the orginal Array (the one which use in the ArrayCollection) So, after apply a filterFunction, the original Array lenght doesn't change, neither the content because the Array is not update; Only the Arraycollection does changes after filterFunction method.is there anyway to synchronise the content of an arraycollection with an array ?
I'm trying to write some code for a simple product scroller.I have an array of product items and when the user clicks the next button I want to remove the item at the last index of the array add add it to the start index and then update the stage with the results.
I think I must be missing a step here; I have different data being pulled from an array created from xml depending on a variable (_currentTrackNum).. and the data changes if I set a different initial value for it; but if I change the variable once the program is initialized, none of the data changes even though I rerun the call with the changed variable.[code]
I am trying out the following code, so that whenever I make a movieclip null, the array containing it's reference too becomes null. I understand the following code cannot do this, but I want somehow, the array can provide information, if the movieclip has got null.
import flash.display.MovieClip; import flash.events.Event; var a_arr:Array = new Array(a_Mc,b_Mc); trace(a_arr); a_Mc= null ; trace(a_arr);
Output is: [object MovieClip],[object MovieClip] But I want something like null, [object MovieClip ]
i'm running a simple nested for loop (code below) that when you go over a tile makes it change its color, so far so good but i also want to make it so that when you go over a tile you can then continue only on the tiles connected to it
Code: for (var colum = 0; colum < field_h; colum++) { for (var row = 0; row < field_w; row++)[code].....
i think i should be able to do it using arrays but i can't seem to understand how after the tiles are placed and the array updated accordingly to update the tiles with the new array value (enter frame event ? )
I've been working on a project the last few days in AS2 and decided I'd try and re-write it in AS3 as I'm yet to venture in to the AS3 world. I've done most of the conversion, but I'm stuck on what should be an easy problem. I'm loading images from an xml. The images get put into movieclips.
I have a function that resizes the images when the stage is resized. This then runs another function to update an array of the image widths. The problem I have is trying to update the new widths into an Array. I just can't seen to reference my MC's to get the widths!
is there any sample on using array bitmapdata to record video from webcam and generate flash movieclip file? i want to record sound as well without using red5/flash streaming server
I have bought Learning AS 3.0 (O'Reilly) but I have been having difficulty getting one of the tutorials to run. The tutorial shows how to record data from a microphone to a byte array, playback the saved data and save as a WAV file. For some reason, I can't get this working. When the swf runs, the Flash Settings screen doesn't pop up to request permission to access the microphone but I can still trace properties such as gain.
I've uploaded a zip containing all the classes and an FLA - just use RecordMicrophone_Example.as file as the document class. Here is the problematic area of the code:
I develop failover fms application with server-side action script. But i have a problem that FMS can't continue to record stream with record mode "append".
Environment: FMS 4.5.1 r484 on CentOS 5.5/6.0
Goals:
I have 2 same data streams in failover application and republish primary to livepkgr application.
I have to store of last 10 hours intact recorded video (DVR).
Failover app logic:
1. I create NetConnection and NetStream to livepackager;
2. When primary stream is connected it attach the primary stream to livePackager NetStream
3. If primary stream is disconnected it reattach the backup stream to livePackager NetStream
Problem: I have testing environment. It stop primary stream every 5 min, and started primary stream 5 min after stopping.
It work's, fine, but after a few hours testing LIVEPACKAGER falls. It can't record a stream, NetStream.Record.Start -> NetStream.Record.NoAccess -> NetStream.Record.Stop
Search a solution: I try to relaunch recording process and have no success. try to shutdown/start livepackager, it's same, try to restart server, same no success.
I cant stream.clear() or record with mode "record" cause it clears my dvr cache, I cant clean stream directory in livepackager application.
I am deploying Updates via SCUP and SCCM to hundreds of Computers. Fortunately Adobe provides an SCCM Update Catalog for both Adobe Flash ActiveX and Adobe Flash Plugin. But now my Problem: After publishing the Update via SCCM, the client is not supposed to be interfered with the Update Progress (which is working) I figured the Updater works like this: First SCCM checks if a Update needs to be deployed, if this is the case, The Flash Updater begins. First the old Flash Version is beeing uninstalled. But now: if the Client has a Browser Window (IE, or Firefox) open, the Updater is not able to install the new Flash Version and quits with an Error. This leaves the Client PC without any Flash (because its being uninstalled before) How can I prevent Flash being uninstalled due to the Update progress not working while a Browser window is open?
I've got a movieclip, which has got a dynamic text element.The movieclip uses a package for its codeThe package if obviously derived from the MovieClip classI've got a timer, that updates the dynamic text field every second.When debugging the code, I see that the timer works well. Its updates the value of the dynamic text field.
I have a list of strings that I add to an array, then attempt to set those values in a for-loop using data that I read in. The array gets updated, but the values the array contains do not. I also have an array of buttons that I update this same way that works great, but strings don't seem to work the same way. I have tried moving the string array to give it full scope, and still nothing...
public class test extends Sprite { // Declare a list of strings protected var title0:String = undefined;
I have an array used to track shots fired from a cannon, and when they hit the ground they are removed.
I would like to know what is the most efficient way of finding and removing a certain element from an array. I heard that using pop() instead of splice() was faster, is it ?
Also, the big question I have is that the only way I see of actually finding the element in the array is using
Code: for(i=0;i<array.length;i++){ if(array[i] == movieClipToRemove){ //i == movieClip index in the array } }
Then I would use either splice() or pop() to remove it from the array before deleting the MC. Is there a better way than scanning through the whole array comparing each element to the triggering MC ?
If i have array like var my_Arr:Array = new Array("a", "b", "c");and i have button to use random element of ths array , is there any to remove that element that if i press the button again i won't find the last element ?
I'm writing an application in Flex / ActionScript and have a number of class member variables of type Array storing data. My question is: what's the "best" way to clear out an Array object? I noticed the ArrayCollection class has a function removeAll() which does this, but the basic Array class does not. Some possibilities I've considered are: Iterating through the array, calling pop or shift on each element Setting the array length to 0 Setting the member variable to a "new Array()" or "[]"
I am trying to remove an object from an array. but from some reason its not working. I am under the impression that a splice accepts 2 parameters. the position of the array. and for parameter 2 , how many to delete from then on out.I just want to delete one array so I am doing this array. splice (i,0);but it isn't working. can someone tell me what i am doing wrong. enlighten me on how it suppose to work.
